Deaf Bonce MFX-60 Review: Machete 6.5-Inch Coaxials for Easy Swaps and Rear Fill

Updated: Oct 6

The Deaf Bonce MFX-60 is a pair of 6.5-inch two-way coaxial speakers from the Machete range, rated at 50 W RMS (100 W max) into 4 ohm, with a quoted 91.6 dB SPL and a 65 Hz – 20 kHz response. Deaf Bonce publishes a 61.0 mm mounting depth and a 143.0 mm cut-out, so it's one of the easier Machete speakers to plan a fit around. Its Indian MRP is ₹8,990, the most affordable of the Machete coaxial and component sets we sell. It suits a straightforward factory-speaker swap, or rear fill behind a component front stage, which is where Alphard, the group behind Machete, says it works best. Order it from our Deaf Bonce MFX-60 product page.

Fitting it into an Indian car's doors

Coaxials earn their place by being simple: one driver per side, with the tweeter mounted in front of the woofer, so there's no separate tweeter to place or crossover to hide. With the 61.0 mm depth and 143.0 mm cut-out published, you can check clearance before buying. Measure behind the factory opening with the window fully down, since the glass is usually what limits depth, and plan on an adapter ring if the factory hole or screw pattern differs.

The published Qts of 0.69 sits in the range generally considered suitable for free-air mounting, which is roughly how a car door behaves, though the door itself still matters. Seal the speaker to its mounting and damp the door skin to stop the panel buzzing; our sound damping guide explains the job.

Head unit or amplifier, and where Alphard places it

With 91.6 dB quoted and a 50 W RMS rating, the MFX-60 suits head-unit power or a modest amplifier. Deaf Bonce's filter advice is useful here: if your head unit or amplifier has a high-pass setting, an 80 Hz or higher cut at 12 dB/oct keeps deep bass away from the woofer and lets it play louder cleanly. A four-channel amplifier such as the MFA-4.80 (80 W × 4 at 4 ohm) matches the low end of the 80–120 W multichannel amplifier Alphard suggests for a component front set plus coaxial rears. That is above the MFX-60's 50 W RMS rating, so set its gains with care.

On Alphard's official Russian store, the MFX-60 is sold as a Machete Fight 16 cm coaxial, described as loud and bright, in a size that suits most cars. Alphard says it can work as a complete speaker system on its own but performs best as rear support for component speakers. That makes it a natural rear partner for a front set such as the MFC-60. Those are the maker's claims, not test results.

What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce MFX-60

When we checked in October 2026, there were no owner reviews, forum threads or independent tests of the MFX-60 that we could find. Deaf Bonce's product page and manual give specifications only, Alphard's store page shows no customer reviews, and several big retailer and forum sites blocked our access.

So we can't report an owner consensus. If you've fitted a pair, front or rear, we'd like to hear how they compare with the factory speakers they replaced.

MFX-60 vs MLC-60 and the Machete Fight 60

For ₹1,000 more, the MLC-60 component set separates the tweeters so they can be mounted higher for a better stereo image, and it's rated at 65 W RMS. But it comes with no crossovers, quotes a lower 89.7 dB, and needs separate filtering for its tweeters. For a simple swap, the MFX-60 is the easier install.

The name invites confusion with the Machete Fight 60 (₹10,990). That's a pair of 6.5-inch midrange speakers with no tweeters, rated at 100 W RMS and 90 Hz – 17 kHz, whereas the MFX-60 has its own tweeter built in. Our guide to car speakers under ₹10,000 covers other choices at this price.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the MFX-60 if you want a drop-in upgrade for factory 6.5-inch openings, plan to run it from a head unit or small amplifier, or need rear fill behind a component front stage.

Look elsewhere if you want the best front soundstage, where a component set with separately mounted tweeters does better, or you need more than 50 W RMS per side.

Installation notes for Indian cars

Check the 143.0 mm cut-out and 61.0 mm depth against your car before ordering, and ask us if an adapter ring is needed. Keep the speaker leads clear of the window mechanism, use proper connectors rather than tape, and keep connections above the door's drain path, since water runs down inside the door in the monsoon. Confirm polarity on both sides, or the bass will sound thin. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation and can make custom door baffles to suit.

Price and where to buy

The Deaf Bonce MFX-60 has an MRP of ₹8,990 for the pair. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's price on our MFX-60 product page, and ask us to check fitment for your car. We sell genuine Deaf Bonce stock.

Deaf Bonce MFX-60 - another view

The bottom line

The MFX-60 is a simple Machete speaker upgrade: a coaxial pair with published depth, cut-out and driver parameters, a 50 W RMS rating that suits head-unit or modest amplifier power, and a quoted 91.6 dB. Alphard says it works best as rear support for a component front stage, and that's a sensible use. There are no owner reviews yet, so the case rests on the published figures and its ease of fitting.

Deaf Bonce MFX-60 FAQ

What size hole does the Deaf Bonce MFX-60 need?

Deaf Bonce lists a 143.0 mm cut-out diameter and a 61.0 mm mounting depth. Measure behind your door opening with the window down, and ask us whether your car needs an adapter ring.

Can the MFX-60 run from a factory head unit?

Yes. It is rated at 50 W RMS with a quoted 91.6 dB SPL, which suits head-unit power. If your head unit has a high-pass filter, Deaf Bonce suggests 80 to 160 Hz at 12 dB/oct, or 60 to 120 Hz at 24 dB/oct.

Is the MFX-60 good for rear speakers?

Alphard says the MFX-60 can work as a complete system on its own but performs best as rear support for component speakers, so it pairs well with a component front set such as the Deaf Bonce MFC-60.
