Recoil RBMW-T45M Review: BMW-Specific 4.5-Inch Component Speakers, 50 W RMS Per Pair

5 min read

The Recoil RBMW-T45M is a car-specific 4.5-inch 2-way component speaker set for BMW models, sold as a pair, with an aluminium-cone mid and a 1-inch titanium tweeter. Our listing rates the pair at 50 W RMS and 100 W peak, and the Indian MRP is ₹35,000. Neither Recoil nor our listing says which BMW models or years it fits, so the first job is to confirm the fit for your car. You can see the set on our Recoil RBMW-T45M product page.

Recoil RBMW-T45M 4.5-inch BMW component speaker set

Key takeaways

  • The 100W in the product name is a peak figure for the pair. The RMS rating is 50 W for the pair, or about 25 W a side if the two share it evenly.

  • No BMW model or year is named by Recoil or in our listing, so fit is something you confirm, not something the product pages promise.

  • In our listing's specifications, the only difference from the 4-inch RBMW-T4M is the mid size.

  • We found no owner reviews or independent tests.

Figures come from Recoil's RBMW-T45M page, Recoil USA's store page and our listing, all promotional. Recoil's page title says 1150 mm, a typo: its spec table and our listing say 115 mm. Its description also mentions a full 3-way upgrade with 8-inch under-seat subwoofers, which does not match the 2-way title. This post covers the 2-way pair in our listing, so do not assume subwoofers or extra mids come in the box. Recoil's under-seat pair is a separate product, covered in our Recoil RBMW-8W review.

Fit is the first question

Our listing says the set is made to fit the factory speaker positions, with car-specific baskets and connectors for non-destructive installation. Recoil's page makes similar claims, and Recoil USA's page adds that it needs no cutting, modification or adapters. Those are the maker's claims about fit.

What none of the pages we read give is a list of BMW models or years. Recoil's page says only that the BMW name is used for reference and the trademark belongs to its owner. They also do not say where the tweeters and crossovers are meant to sit, or mention factory amplifiers or audio packages. Before you order:

  • Write down the car's exact model, year and audio system.

  • Check the size and connector of the speaker you are replacing against this set's 4.5-inch (115 mm) mid and car-specific plugs.

  • Ask the maker or distributor to confirm your model and year, and where the tweeters and crossovers go.

  • Ask whether your car's audio system suits passive speakers like these.

50 W RMS and 100 W peak, for the pair

The listing name says 100W, and that is the peak figure for the pair. The RMS rating is 50 W for the pair. Recoil's table labels its pair figures RMS and max, while Recoil USA's page does not say whether its 50 W and 100 W are per speaker or per pair, so use the pair figures from our listing and Recoil's own table.

At 91 dB the set is efficient, and Recoil USA's page says it works well with factory head units without extra amplification. How much clean power a factory unit has depends on the car, so judge by ear. The listing also says the set can run passive or semi-active, which suits a DSP; our guide to why car audio systems need a DSP explains the idea.

What owners and reviewers say about the Recoil RBMW-T45M

When we checked in October 2026, neither Recoil's page nor Recoil USA's page for this set showed any customer reviews. We found no owner thread, retailer review or test report we could read, and some large retailer and forum sites would not load for our research. That limits what we can verify; it does not mean nobody has fitted the set. If you have fitted one, tell us the car, the year and whether it needed anything extra.

Recoil RBMW-T45M vs RBMW-T4M

The Recoil RBMW-T4M is the 4-inch sibling. In our listing's specifications the mid size is the only difference: 4.5 inch (115 mm) here and 4 inch (100 mm) there. Power, impedance, sensitivity, frequency range, voice coil, materials, included crossovers and the ₹35,000 MRP match. Neither Recoil nor our listing says which BMW positions take which size, so choose by checking your own car, not by preference.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the T45M if you have confirmed that your BMW takes a 4.5-inch set, you want connectors and baskets made for the car, and you are happy to run it from the factory head unit or add an amplifier or DSP later.

Look elsewhere if you cannot confirm your model and year, you need a published compatibility list, or you want a universal 4.5-inch set. A universal pair chosen against measured sizes is the safer route when fit is uncertain.

Installation notes for Indian cars

Plug-and-play connectors cut the wiring work, but a speaker swap is still careful work with trim, clips and seals. Keep the original speakers so you can go back, check that the plugs seat fully, and fix the crossovers where they cannot rattle or touch moving parts. Heat, dust and monsoon humidity are hard on exposed connectors, so keep them dry and seated. If the speaker sits in a door, our sound damping guide covers damping the inner door metal.

VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation and DSP tuning, and builds custom speaker pods and door baffles if a mounting surface needs one. Because this set is made for a BMW, give the installer your model and year before any trim comes off.

Price and where to buy

The Recoil RBMW-T45M carries an MRP of ₹35,000 for the pair in our listing. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current offer on the Recoil RBMW-T45M product page. We list it as a genuine Recoil product. Recoil's warranty page gives a one-year limited warranty to the original purchaser and does not state India terms, so confirm them with the maker or distributor before you order.

The bottom line

The RBMW-T45M is a clearly rated, car-specific 4.5-inch 2-way pair with crossovers included and no published list of the BMWs it fits. Confirm the fit and the audio system first, read the 100W as a peak figure for the pair, and expect to rely on the maker's word until owners report back.

Recoil RBMW-T45M FAQ

Will the Recoil RBMW-T45M fit my BMW?

Neither Recoil's pages nor our listing name BMW models or years, so the product pages cannot confirm it. Check your car's speaker size and connector, and confirm the fit with the maker or distributor before ordering.

Is the 100 W in the Recoil RBMW-T45M name an RMS rating?

No. It is the peak figure for the pair. The RMS rating is 50 W for the pair, which is about 25 W a side if the two share it evenly.

Is the Recoil RBMW-T45M a 2-way or a 3-way set?

It is a 2-way set: a 4.5-inch mid and a 1-inch tweeter per side, with crossovers. Recoil's description mentions a 3-way upgrade with subwoofers, but the title, feature list and our listing describe the 2-way pair only.

Does the Recoil RBMW-T45M need an amplifier?

Recoil USA's page says the 91 dB sensitivity works well with factory head units without extra amplification. The listing also says the set can run passive or semi-active, so an amplifier or DSP is possible; how much clean power a factory unit has depends on the car.
