Deaf Bonce MFC-615 Review: Machete Component Set and How It Differs from the MFC-60
Updated: Oct 6
The Deaf Bonce MFC-615 is a 6.5-inch two-way component speaker set from the Machete range, rated at 80 W RMS (160 W max) into 4 ohm, with a quoted 91.7 dB SPL and a 55 Hz – 20 kHz response. Its Indian MRP is ₹11,990, ₹500 below the MFC-60, which Alphard, the group behind Machete, describes as an improved version of this set. The box contents on our listing show the drivers and tweeters but no crossovers, so it suits a system where an amplifier or DSP does the filtering. See today's price on our Deaf Bonce MFC-615 product page.

Key takeaways
80 W RMS and 160 W max at 4 ohm, 91.7 dB SPL and 55 Hz – 20 kHz, according to our store listing.
The listed box contents are two mid-bass drivers, two tweeters, a manual and a warranty card, with no crossovers.
Our listing says Deaf Bonce recommends 12 dB/oct high-pass filters at 60–80 Hz for the mid-bass and 6–8 kHz for the tweeters.
Neither Deaf Bonce's US site nor Alphard's Russian store listed the MFC-615 when we checked, and we found no owner reviews.

These figures come from our store listing. Deaf Bonce's speaker catalogue lists the MFC-60, MLC-60 and MFX-60 but not the MFC-615, so we couldn't check them against a current manufacturer page. Alphard's MFC-60 page calls that model an improved analogue of the MFC-615, with refined tweeters and mid/bass drivers.
MFC-615 or MFC-60: what's actually different
On paper the two sets are very close. Both are rated at 80 W RMS and 160 W max into 4 ohm. The MFC-615's listing quotes 91.7 dB and 55 Hz – 20 kHz; the MFC-60 manual quotes 91.5 dB and 60 Hz – 20 kHz. Differences that small won't decide anything in a car door.
The practical difference is in the box. The MFC-60 comes with two crossovers and two mounting kits, and Deaf Bonce suggests a single 80 Hz high-pass for it. The MFC-615's listed contents have no crossovers, and its recommendations cover both drivers: 60–80 Hz for the mid-bass and 6–8 kHz for the tweeters. Alphard also says the MFC-60's drivers and tweeters were refined. For ₹500 more, the MFC-60 is the simpler set to install.
Running it without passive crossovers
Without a crossover network, each tweeter needs a high-pass filter in front of it before it plays anything; a tweeter fed full-range bass will not last. There are three sensible ways to do it. A four-channel amplifier can drive the tweeters and mid-bass on separate channels, but only if its high-pass reaches 6–8 kHz and can be set differently for each pair. The MFA-4.80 filters run from 50 Hz to 12 kHz, and the Class AB MLA-4080 covers 10 Hz to 12 kHz, but its manual lists a single set of crossover controls and doesn't say they can differ between channel pairs. We couldn't confirm the MFA-4.80's arrangement, so ask us before counting on either amplifier for both drivers.
A DSP is the second route and gives the most control. The M8-DSP is laid out for an active front stage, though its default tweeter high-pass is 3500 Hz, well below the 6–8 kHz recommended here, so you'd need to set a higher frequency in its software, and the manual doesn't say how high its filters go. The third option is a pair of separate passive crossovers; ask us what we can supply. Whatever you choose, check whether the tweeters carry any inline protection before connecting them, since the listing doesn't say.
Door fitment and tweeter placement
The listing gives a 67.2 mm mounting depth and a 150.0 mm mounting hole. Measure the depth behind your door's speaker opening with the window fully down, and check the hole against your car's factory opening; many installs use an adapter ring. Damping the door skin while it's open makes a real difference to mid-bass from any 6.5-inch driver; our sound damping guide explains how.
Separate tweeters are the reason to buy a component set. Mounting them high on the A-pillar or sail panel lifts the sound to dashboard height, and a DSP with time alignment can then help centre the image.
What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce MFC-615
When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews, forum threads or independent tests of the MFC-615. Deaf Bonce's US site and Alphard's Russian store don't list it; the only official mention we found is Alphard's statement that the MFC-60 improves on it. Several large retailer and forum sites blocked our access.
So there's nothing independent to report yet, and no consensus to summarise. If you've run an MFC-615 set in an Indian car, we'd value your notes on how it sounds and how you filtered the tweeters.
How it compares with the MLC-60 and MFX-60
The MLC-60 (₹9,990 MRP) is another Machete component set with no crossovers listed in its box, but it's rated lower, at 65 W RMS, with a quoted SPL of 89.7 dB and a 65 Hz – 20 kHz response. It's the cheaper choice for modest amplifier power. If you'd rather keep a factory-style layout with no separate tweeters, the MFX-60 coaxial (₹8,990) is rated at 50 W RMS and drops into a 143 mm cut-out.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the MFC-615 if you're building an active front stage with a four-channel amplifier or DSP, you want 80 W RMS-class drivers, and you won't need passive crossovers.
Look elsewhere if you want a straightforward passive install from a head unit or simple amplifier. The MFC-60 includes crossovers for ₹500 more, and Alphard says its drivers are improved.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Seal the mid-bass to the door or adapter so its back wave can't leak round the front, and keep wiring away from the window channel. In the monsoon, water runs down inside the door, so keep connections above the drain path and use weatherproof connectors. Route tweeter wires along the A-pillar trim without interfering with any airbag behind it. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation and can make custom speaker pods or door baffles for a set like this.
Price and where to buy
The Deaf Bonce MFC-615 has an MRP of ₹11,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's price on our MFC-615 product page, and ask us to confirm the box contents and fitment for your car before you order. We sell genuine Deaf Bonce stock.
The bottom line
The MFC-615 is an 80 W RMS Machete component set whose published figures are nearly identical to the MFC-60's, but whose listed box contents leave out the crossovers. That makes it a good fit for an active system and an awkward one for a simple passive install. With no current manufacturer page and no owner reviews, buy it with a clear plan for filtering the tweeters, or spend ₹500 more on the MFC-60.
Deaf Bonce MFC-615 FAQ
Does the Deaf Bonce MFC-615 come with crossovers?
Our listing's box contents are two mid-bass drivers, two tweeters, a manual and a warranty card, with no crossovers. The same listing says Deaf Bonce recommends a 6–8 kHz high-pass for the tweeters, so plan on an amplifier, DSP or separate crossovers to provide it.
What is the difference between the MFC-615 and the MFC-60?
Power and quoted output are almost the same, but the MFC-60 includes two crossovers and mounting kits, and Alphard describes it as an improved version of the MFC-615 with refined tweeters and mid/bass drivers. It costs ₹500 more.
What amplifier suits the MFC-615?
For an active set-up, a DSP feeding separate amplifier channels gives the most control. A four-channel amplifier can also work if its filters can be set separately for each pair. The Deaf Bonce MFA-4.80 and MLA-4080 filters reach 12 kHz, but the MLA-4080's manual lists only one set of crossover controls, so ask us before choosing either for both drivers. Each driver should be filtered to the ranges our listing gives.
