Zapco HB 410 II 8A Review: 10-Channel DSP with Eight Class AB Channels

Oct 2
6 min read

Updated: Oct 7

The Zapco HB 410 II 8A pairs a ten-channel DSP with eight channels of Class AB amplification, rated by Zapco at 8 x 23 W RMS into 4 Ω or 8 x 35 W into 2 Ω, with four speaker-level inputs and ten RCA outputs. It appears in the text and photos of Zapco's 2026 Indian catalogue, but without a spec column or an MRP, and it isn't in our online store yet, so ask VA3 Car Studio for availability and price. On paper it suits an active front stage run entirely on Class AB power, with efficient speakers and a separate subwoofer amplifier. Its nearest all-Class AB sibling is the HB 48 II 4A in our store.

All figures come from Zapco's HB 410 II 8A product page and its 2025 Quick Guide. The 2026 Indian catalogue mentions the model only in its introduction, as a 10-channel, 31-band DSP with an integrated eight-channel Class AB amplifier, and shows it in two photos, but prints no specification column and no price.

Eight small Class AB channels: what they can drive

The 8 x 70 W headline is a maximum figure. Each channel's continuous rating is 23 W RMS into 4 Ω, the same as on the four-channel HB 46 II 4A and HB 48 II 4A, so the HB 410 II 8A doesn't play any louder per channel; it simply has twice as many. That suits tweeters and midranges, which need little power, but door woofers on 23 W must be efficient. JL's C1-650, for instance, is rated at 91 dB with a recommended 10–75 W per channel.

Running every channel in Class AB keeps the whole front stage on one type of amplification, whereas the HB 810 II 8AD mixes Class AB with Class D. The trade-off is efficiency: eight AB channels in one case make more heat than four, and at 23 W each they are too small for most subwoofers.

Ten processed channels: two sensible layouts

With ten processed channels and eight amplified ones, two plans make the most of it:

  • An active three-way front, with tweeters, midranges and midbass woofers on six built-in channels, rear fill on the other two, and a subwoofer amplifier fed from a spare processed output.

  • An active two-way front on four channels and rear speakers on two, leaving two built-in channels free, again with the subwoofer on its own amplifier.

For that subwoofer amplifier, the mono HB 501D II takes RCA inputs only and is rated at 300 W RMS into 4 Ω. Like the HB 410 II 8A, it isn't in our online store, so ask about both together.

Factory head units, inputs and tuning

Four speaker-level inputs handle a typical four-channel factory head unit, so the touchscreen and its camera and steering controls can stay. Factory systems that give tweeters or a subwoofer separate feeds need more inputs: the HB 68 II takes six and the HB 810 II 8AD eight. With an aftermarket head unit, the two RCA inputs are the cleaner route.

Tuning works as on the rest of the HB II range: PC software, or the Android and iOS apps over Bluetooth, with 31-band graphic or parametric EQ, crossovers and delay on each output. Ten channels give a lot to adjust, so a measured tune pays off; our posts on DSP setup and why cars need a DSP explain the basics. Zapco lists the HB DSP II-R remote as compatible.

What owners and reviewers say about the Zapco HB 410 II 8A

Independent owner reviews of this exact model are scarce: we found none we could verify as of October 2026. The retailer listings we checked, including Ahifi in Europe and Riotous Audio, showed no ratings or reviews.

The only related coverage is a 2024 trade news item from CE Outlook about the first-generation HB 410 ADSP, nicknamed Louis, rather than this model. It reported a ten-channel DSP with an eight-channel amplifier rated at 8 x 70 W, the same layout and maximum rating the II model carries. That is news coverage of specifications and pricing, not a hands-on review. If you own an HB 410 II 8A, we'd be glad to hear how it has worked out.

How it compares with its HB II siblings

Against the HB 48 II 4A (₹26,990 MRP), the HB 410 II 8A doubles the amplified channels and adds two processed ones, with the same four speaker-level inputs and the same 23 W per channel; its case is 30 mm longer. Against the HB 810 II 8AD (₹54,990), it shares the ten-channel processor but swaps four bridgeable Class D channels, rated at 100 W RMS each into 4 Ω, for four more small Class AB ones, and accepts four inputs instead of eight. Choose the 810 if you want the subwoofer powered from the same box; the 410 suits an all-AB active front where the subwoofer has its own amplifier.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Consider it if you want an active two-way or three-way front stage on Class AB amplification, with efficient speakers and a separate subwoofer amplifier, and you're happy to ask us for availability rather than order online.

Look elsewhere if you need door woofers driven hard, a subwoofer powered from the same box or more than four speaker-level inputs; the HB 810 II 8AD covers all three. And if you want a published Indian price you can order against today, the HB 48 II 4A or HB 810 II 8AD is the practical choice.

Installation notes for Indian cars

At 190 x 126 x 45.5 mm, the HB 410 II 8A is longer than the four-channel HB II models, though no wider, so check the space under a seat before committing. With eight Class AB channels it will run warm: mount it where air circulates, well away from heater ducts and from spots that bake in direct sun.

Zapco doesn't publish a current draw or fuse rating in the material we have, so size the power wire and fuse for the full system, fit the fuse near the battery and use a short, clean ground. With a factory head unit, the turn-on lead usually goes to an ignition-switched supply. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.

Price and availability

The Zapco HB 410 II 8A has no MRP in the 2026 Indian catalogue, and it isn't listed in our online store yet. Ask VA3 Car Studio for availability and price. If you'd rather choose a listed model, the HB 48 II 4A and HB 810 II 8AD product pages show current pricing. Any unit we supply is a genuine Zapco product.

The bottom line

The HB 410 II 8A fills a specific gap in the HB II range: ten processed channels and eight Class AB channels for an all-AB active front stage on modest power. Its 23 W channels need efficient speakers, its four inputs limit factory integration, and without an Indian price or store listing you'll need to ask us before planning around it.

Zapco HB 410 II 8A FAQ

Is the Zapco HB 410 II 8A available in India?

It appears in the text and photos of Zapco's 2026 Indian catalogue, but with no MRP, and it isn't in our online store yet. Ask VA3 Car Studio for availability and price before planning a system around it.

What is the difference between the HB 410 II 8A and the HB 810 II 8AD?

Both have a ten-channel DSP. The HB 410 II 8A has eight Class AB channels at 23 W RMS into 4 Ω and four speaker-level inputs, while the HB 810 II 8AD has four Class AB and four bridgeable Class D channels plus eight speaker-level inputs.

Can the HB 410 II 8A run a subwoofer?

Not realistically: its built-in channels are rated at only 23 W RMS into 4 Ω and 35 W into 2 Ω, which is too little for most subwoofers. Use one of the spare processed outputs to feed a mono amplifier, such as Zapco's HB 501D II.
