Focal Access 165 AS3 is a 3-way component kit designed for car audio. For a three-way front stage with distinct woofer, midrange and tweeter locations. It rewards careful installation and is not simply a drop-in alternative to a two-way coaxial.
Key strengths and best application
165 mm DFS woofers, 80 mm dedicated midranges and aluminium inverted-dome tweeters. Before running active DSP, document the supplied passive network and establish driver-safe bandlimits. Midrange placement and woofer-to-midrange acoustic summation are critical.
Fitment and system planning

Focal's Access 165 AS3 woofer sheet lists Fs 67.33 Hz, Vas 7.9 L, Qts 0.812, Qes 0.93, Qms 6.38, Xmax 5 mm and a 62.9 mm woofer depth. The complete kit also incorporates a dedicated midrange and three-position tweeter-level adjustment; do not confuse woofer-only data with midrange or tweeter parameters.
