The DS18 FRP-2.4K4/TI is a compact four-channel full-range Class D amplifier in a titanium finish, rated at 4 x 250 W RMS at 4 Ω, 4 x 400 W at 2 Ω and 4 x 600 W at 1 Ω. The 2,400 W in its name is the 1 Ω total; at 4 Ω the four channels total 1,000 W. DS18 states no peak figure. Its India MRP is ₹55,990, ₹6,000 above the FRP-1.2K4/TI, and its ratings suit speakers rated for 250 W RMS or more per channel at 4 Ω. You can see it on our DS18 FRP-2.4K4/TI product page.

Figures come from DS18's FRP-2.4K4/TI page and its FRP multi-channel manual, and match our listing, which repeats the page. The conflict that matters is the power terminal, covered below.

Where the 2,400 W comes from

DS18's page title says 2400W RMS and names no load. The figure equals four 600 W channels at 1 Ω. Moving from 4 Ω to lower loads, the totals rise: 1,000 W at 4 Ω (4 x 250 W), 1,600 W at 2 Ω (4 x 400 W) and 2,400 W at 1 Ω (4 x 600 W). Bridged, 2 x 750 W at 4 Ω is 1,500 W in total and 2 x 1,000 W at 2 Ω is 2,000 W.

Read the line that matches your load, not the name. DS18 gives no supply voltage for any rating, and no peak, max or burst figure appears on its page or in its manual. The manual's bridging diagrams were not legible to us, so confirm the bridging terminals on the unit.

Terminals, fusing and heat

DS18's own documents part ways on the terminal. The product page and our listing give a 0 gauge power input, while the manual's table shows 4 GA for both the FRP-1.2K4 and the FRP-2.4K4. We cannot tell which the unit carries, so look at it before buying cable and lugs. Page and manual agree on the 240 A recommended fuse, against 140 A for the FRP-1.2K4/TI. For scale only, 2,400 W divided by an assumed 14.4 V is about 167 A before losses; DS18 states no supply voltage, so that is our arithmetic, not a DS18 figure.

DS18 lists 97% efficiency at 4 Ω and one smart-cooling fan. Thermal protection engages when the heatsink passes 90 °C, and the manual asks for proper ventilation without giving a mounting position.

Inputs, selector and crossover

DS18 lists Tiffany RCA inputs rated 400 mV to 6 V and a 2CH / 4CH input selector; in the manual's 2-channel position, one input on channels 1 and 2 drives outputs 1-2 and 3-4. The page has no high-level input row and the manual lists none, so if your radio has no RCA outputs, confirm how it will connect before buying.

The crossover is a selectable HPF / full / LPF from 10 Hz to 2 kHz with no slope stated. The page has no rows for a phase selector, remote level control or voltmeter, so we cannot say whether it offers them.

What owners and reviewers say about the DS18 FRP-2.4K4/TI

When we checked in October 2026, DS18's pages for the titanium FRP-2.4K4/TI and the red FRP-2.4K4/RD showed no customer reviews, but the blue FRP-2.4K4/BL page showed one undated review. Its reviewer calls the amplifier fantastic and mentions running 8-inch components, without naming them or saying how it was set up. That is the same model in another finish, not the titanium one, and one short comment is thin evidence. We have not read independent reviews or forum threads. The FRP-1.2K4 has one short comment on each of its blue and red pages, but that is a different model.

FRP-2.4K4/TI against the FRP-1.2K4/TI, G1000.4D and FRP-8K/TI

The DS18 FRP-1.2K4/TI (₹49,990 MRP, ₹6,000 less) is rated 4 x 120 W at 4 Ω and 4 x 300 W at 1 Ω, so its 1,200 W is also a 1 Ω total; keep the two sets of figures apart. It has a 140 A recommended fuse against 240 A here and is 183 mm long and 1.6 kg gross against 262 mm and 2.3 kg. They share the 63.5 mm height, crossover range, bass boost, 97% efficiency at 4 Ω and single fan, so those points do not separate them.

The DS18 G1000.4D (₹22,990 MRP, ₹33,000 less) is rated 4 x 90 W at 4 Ω and lists a high-level input; its 1,000 W figure is a maximum, not RMS. The DS18 FRP-8K/TI (₹1,49,990 MRP, ₹94,000 more) is a monoblock rated 2,500 W RMS at 4 Ω, 5,000 W at 2 Ω and 8,000 W at 1 Ω, with a separate 9,000 W burst figure that is not RMS.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the FRP-2.4K4/TI if your speakers are rated for about 250 W RMS per channel at 4 Ω (or about 750 W if you bridge a pair), your source has RCA outputs, and you will match the cable to the terminal on the unit. If you are still weighing whether to add an amplifier, our guide to the need for an amplifier covers the basics.

Look elsewhere if your radio has no RCA outputs and you want a built-in high-level input (the G1000.4D lists one), you want owner reviews first, or your speakers are rated well below 250 W RMS at 4 Ω.

Installation notes for Indian cars

Settle the terminal question first, then plan the cable run, the 240 A fuse holder and the ground point. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation and DSP tuning, and can make door baffles or speaker pods for the speakers it drives. DS18's manual points to ds18.com for the warranty; the warranty is per DS18's published terms, so confirm India terms with us.

Price and where to buy

The DS18 FRP-2.4K4/TI has an India MRP of ₹55,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current offer on the FRP-2.4K4/TI listing, which describes it as a genuine DS18 product.

DS18 FRP-2.4K4/TI - another view

The bottom line

The FRP-2.4K4/TI is a four-channel Class D amplifier whose 2,400 W name is a 1 Ω total; at 4 Ω it is rated 4 x 250 W. DS18's page and manual disagree on the power terminal and its titanium page carries no reviews, so decide on the specification and check the unit first.

DS18 FRP-2.4K4/TI FAQ

Is the DS18 FRP-2.4K4/TI a 2,400 W amplifier?

Only at 1 Ω. The 2,400 W RMS headline matches four 600 W channels at 1 Ω; at 4 Ω the rating is 4 x 250 W, or 1,000 W in total.

What is the difference between the FRP-2.4K4/TI and the FRP-1.2K4/TI?

They are sibling four-channel amplifiers. The 2.4K4 is rated 4 x 250 W at 4 Ω with a 240 A fuse and is 262 mm long; the 1.2K4 is rated 4 x 120 W at 4 Ω with a 140 A fuse and is 183 mm long.

What power terminal size does the FRP-2.4K4/TI have?

DS18's page and our listing say 0 gauge, while the manual's table shows 4 GA. They disagree, so check the terminal on the unit before buying cable and lugs.

Does the FRP-2.4K4/TI have a high-level input?

DS18's page has no high-level input row and its manual does not list one, so confirm how a factory radio without RCA outputs will connect before you buy.
