Onkyo V-T60.4A Review: 60 W x 4 Class AB Amplifier Against the V-T75.2A and Alpine BBX-F1200

6 min read

The Onkyo V-T60.4A is a 4-channel Class AB amplifier rated at 60 W x 4 RMS at 4 Ω, 70 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 120 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω, with a separate 1,500 W maximum-power figure. At an Indian MRP of ₹12,990 it is the lowest-priced of the four 4-channel Onkyo X-A and V-T amplifiers we list. It suits speakers rated at or near 60 W RMS, and it takes the same 355 x 217 x 55 mm of mounting space as the V-T80.4A. You can see it on our Onkyo V-T60.4A product page.

Onkyo V-T60.4A 4-channel Class AB car amplifier

Quick summary

  • 60 W x 4 at 4 Ω, 70 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 120 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω, all RMS per Onkyo. The 1,500 W figure is a maximum, not RMS.

  • Fuse size 20 A x 2, the same as the V-T80.4A, in a 355 x 217 x 55 mm body of about 2.73 kg.

  • Its MRP matches the Onkyo R-MS10 DSP amplifier, so the pair comes to ₹25,980 at MRP.

  • No distortion figure, filters or input connectors are listed, and we found no owner reviews in October 2026.

What 60 W per channel asks of the speakers

Car door and rear-deck speakers are normally 4 Ω, so the 60 W x 4 line is the one to read. Where the speaker maker prints an RMS rating near 60 W, the amplifier is a direct match. Where the rating is well below 60 W, the gain needs setting with care, and where it is well above, the amplifier is working below what the speakers could take.

The 70 W line at 2 Ω is only 10 W more per channel, so there is little to gain from loading channels down to 2 Ω. The 1,500 W maximum is not an RMS figure and has no place in matching speakers.

Pairing it with a DSP, and what the pair costs

Onkyo lists no filter ranges or input connectors for the V-T60.4A, only an input sensitivity of 0.15 to 8 V, so unless you confirm that the amplifier has its own, plan on the head unit or a DSP for crossover and equalisation. The Onkyo R-MS10 (₹12,990 MRP) lists four high-level inputs, six low-level outputs and a 15-band equaliser with six preset music scenes. That is enough to take a factory signal and feed four channels here with two outputs spare, provided the connectors match. At MRP the two together come to ₹25,980. What owners and reviewers say about the Onkyo V-T60.4A

Searching in October 2026 turned up no owner reviews, forum threads or independent tests of the Onkyo V-T60.4A. Amazon India, Flipkart, YouTube and Reddit block automated reading, so anything posted there is not reflected here. Onkyo's download page has no file for this amplifier, and our own listing carries no customer reviews; Onkyo's product page is a specification table. Sound quality, noise floor and heat are therefore unverified, and a note from any V-T60.4A owner would be welcome.

V-T60.4A against the V-T80.4A, V-T75.2A and Alpine BBX-F1200

The Onkyo V-T80.4A shares the footprint and the 20 A x 2 fuse size. It costs ₹2,000 more at MRP and lists 80 W per channel at 4 Ω, 20 W above this model, so it is the one to look at if your speakers are rated nearer 80 W.

The Onkyo V-T75.2A is a 2-channel amplifier at ₹10,990 MRP, which is ₹2,000 less. It lists 75 W x 2 at 4 Ω, 15 W more per channel than the V-T60.4A, in a 277 mm body that is 78 mm shorter. If you only plan to drive a front pair it may be the closer fit, but it cannot run four channels.

The Alpine BBX-F1200 is a 4/3/2-channel Class A/B amplifier with an MRP of ₹16,499, which is ₹3,509 more. Alpine's manual rates it at 14.4 V with 1% THD+N or less: 50 W x 4 at 4 Ω, 70 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 130 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω. Read as printed, the Onkyo lists 10 W more per channel at 4 Ω, the same 70 W at 2 Ω and 10 W less bridged. Onkyo states no voltage or distortion limit, though, so the lines cannot be ranked. The Alpine also lists an adjustable crossover and a bass EQ, which the Onkyo sheet does not.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the V-T60.4A if your speakers are rated near 60 W RMS at 4 Ω, you want four channels from the lowest-priced of the four 4-channel Onkyo X-A and V-T amplifiers we list, and you will do the crossover work in a DSP or head unit.

Look elsewhere if you only need a front pair (the V-T75.2A), your speakers are rated nearer 80 W (the V-T80.4A), or you want a crossover and bass EQ on the amplifier itself (the BBX-F1200 lists them).

Installation notes for Indian cars

The fuse size is the same 20 A x 2 that the V-T80.4A lists, even though the power rating is lower. No supply range, current draw or cable gauge appears on Onkyo's page, and with no manual found on its site the main fuse and power cable are chosen at installation.

The body is 355 x 217 x 55 mm, so it needs a flat, rigid panel of at least that size with a gap on every side. Keep it off carpet and foam that trap heat, away from where luggage or feet can knock it, and clear of any low spot where monsoon water collects. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad can install it, and builds door baffles if the speakers are being changed at the same time.

Price and where to buy

The Onkyo V-T60.4A has an MRP of ₹12,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current price on the V-T60.4A listing. Warranty terms are set by Onkyo; confirm them with us before ordering.

The bottom line

The V-T60.4A is the lowest-priced of the four 4-channel Onkyo X-A and V-T amplifiers we list. It shares the V-T80.4A's footprint and fuse size and gives up 20 W per channel at 4 Ω to it. It makes sense where the speakers are rated near 60 W and the crossover work happens elsewhere. With a thin sheet and no reviews behind it, confirm the connectors and controls before you buy.

Onkyo V-T60.4A FAQ

Can the Onkyo V-T60.4A drive four 4 Ω speakers?

Onkyo rates it at 60 W x 4 RMS at 4 Ω, so four 4 Ω speakers on its four channels are within the published rating. It also lists 70 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 120 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω.

What do the V-T60.4A and an Onkyo R-MS10 cost together?

The V-T60.4A has an MRP of ₹12,990 and the R-MS10 DSP amplifier also has an MRP of ₹12,990, so the two come to ₹25,980 at MRP. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check both listings.

How does the V-T60.4A differ from the V-T80.4A?

Both list 355 x 217 x 55 mm and a 20 A x 2 fuse size. The V-T80.4A lists 80 W x 4, 100 W x 4 and 150 W x 2 bridged, against 60 W, 70 W and 120 W here, for an MRP ₹2,000 higher.
