Onkyo V-T80.4A Review: 4-Channel Class AB Amplifier, 80 W x 4 RMS at 4 Ω
The Onkyo V-T80.4A is a 4-channel Class AB amplifier rated at 80 W x 4 RMS at 4 Ω, 100 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 150 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω, with a separate 1,800 W maximum-power figure. Its Indian MRP is ₹14,990, between the V-T60.4A at ₹12,990 and the V-T100.4A at ₹20,990. It suits speakers rated at or near 80 W RMS, and it shares the V-T60.4A's footprint while listing a fuse size that the V-T100.4A does not. You can see it on our Onkyo V-T80.4A product page.

Quick summary
80 W x 4 at 4 Ω, 100 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 150 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω, all RMS per Onkyo. The 1,800 W figure is a maximum, not RMS.
Fuse size 20 A x 2, 355 x 217 x 55 mm and about 2.8 kg. The footprint matches the V-T60.4A's.
The MRP is ₹2,000 above the V-T60.4A, ₹6,000 below the V-T100.4A and ₹3,000 below the Deaf Bonce MLA-4080, which also leads with 80 W x 4.
Onkyo prints no distortion figure, filters or connector list, and we could find no owner reviews in October 2026.

What the 80 W, 100 W and 150 W figures add up to
Added across channels, the three ratings come to 320 W at 4 Ω (4 x 80 W), 400 W at 2 Ω (4 x 100 W) and 300 W bridged (2 x 150 W). Bridging therefore concentrates power into two outputs instead of adding to the total: a bridged output is rated at 150 W, against 80 W for a single channel at 4 Ω.
The 1,800 W maximum is more than five times the 320 W total at 4 Ω, which is why it cannot be used to pick speakers. Match each speaker's RMS rating to the 80 W figure at 4 Ω, and read the 2 Ω line only if you deliberately load a channel down to 2 Ω.
Speakers, filters and a DSP in front
Onkyo lists no filter ranges, bass controls or input connectors for the V-T80.4A, only an input sensitivity of 0.15 to 8 V. In a car with a factory touchscreen, the usual answer is to do the crossover and equalisation before the amplifier. The Onkyo R-MS25 lists four high-level input channels, two low-level input channels, eight low-level output channels and a 31-band equaliser, which is enough to take a factory signal and feed all four channels here, provided the connectors match. Our guide to why a car needs a DSP explains the reasoning, and VA3 Car Studio offers DSP tuning.
What owners and reviewers say about the Onkyo V-T80.4A
In October 2026 we found no owner reviews, forum threads or independent tests of the Onkyo V-T80.4A in the sources we could reach. The one outside page that turned up is a Pakistani seller's classified ad on PakWheels, last updated on 5 June 2026, which repeats Onkyo's power figures and fuse size and carries no ratings or buyer comments. Our own listing shows no customer reviews either, and Onkyo's download page offers no file for this amplifier. Sound quality, heat and bridged-mode behaviour are therefore unverified.
V-T80.4A against the V-T60.4A, V-T100.4A and Deaf Bonce MLA-4080
The Onkyo V-T60.4A (₹12,990 MRP) is the same size, 355 x 217 x 55 mm, and lists the same 20 A x 2 fuse size. It is rated at 60 W x 4 at 4 Ω, 70 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 120 W x 2 bridged, so the V-T80.4A lists 20 W more per channel at 4 Ω, 30 W more at 2 Ω and 30 W more bridged for ₹2,000 more at MRP. The Onkyo V-T100.4A costs ₹6,000 more, lists 100 W x 4, 125 W x 4 and 200 W x 2 bridged, is 22 mm longer and lists no fuse size.
The Deaf Bonce MLA-4080 leads with the same 80 W x 4, but its MRP is ₹17,990, which is ₹3,000 more. Deaf Bonce states its ratings at 14.4 V and gives 120 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 240 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω. It also lists 12 dB per octave filters from 10 Hz to 12 kHz, a bass boost of up to 12 dB at 45 Hz and both RCA and high-level inputs, and it is shorter at 323 mm. The Onkyo lists a fuse size, which the Deaf Bonce sheet does not. Because Onkyo gives no voltage, none of the power figures can be ranked directly, the matching 80 W included.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the V-T80.4A if your speakers are rated near 80 W RMS at 4 Ω, you want a four-channel amplifier that fits wherever a V-T60.4A would, and you are happy to do the crossover work in a DSP or head unit.
Look elsewhere if your speakers are rated nearer 60 W (the V-T60.4A is ₹2,000 lower at MRP), or you want filters and bass boost on the amplifier itself (the MLA-4080 lists them). Onkyo also prints a bridged rating without describing how to wire it, so check the terminals before planning a bridged subwoofer.
Installation notes for Indian cars
The V-T80.4A needs a flat, rigid panel of at least 355 x 217 mm with room around it for wiring and air, so measure the intended spot before ordering. Under-seat space in an Indian car collects dust and loose items, so keep the chassis clear of them and off carpet, and fix it at all mounting points so rough-road vibration does not work it loose. Class AB designs run warm, and a closed boot after a summer afternoon adds to that.
A 20 A x 2 fuse size is the only supply detail Onkyo gives: there is no supply range, current draw or cable gauge, and we found no manual on its site. The main fuse and power cable are therefore sized at fitting. Professional installation is available at VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad, along with custom speaker pods and door baffles.
Price and where to buy
The Onkyo V-T80.4A has an MRP of ₹14,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current price on the V-T80.4A listing. Warranty terms are set by Onkyo; confirm them with us before ordering.

The bottom line
The V-T80.4A is the middle of the three four-channel V-T amplifiers we list: ₹2,000 over the V-T60.4A for a higher rating in the same footprint, and ₹6,000 under the V-T100.4A. What it shares with them is a thin sheet, with no distortion figure, filters or connectors and no reviews to lean on. If you need those details published, compare the Deaf Bonce before deciding.
Onkyo V-T80.4A FAQ
What is the Onkyo V-T80.4A's RMS rating at 4 Ω?
Onkyo rates it at 80 W x 4 RMS at 4 Ω, 100 W x 4 at 2 Ω and 150 W x 2 bridged at 4 Ω. The 1,800 W figure is a maximum, not RMS.
What fuse size does the V-T80.4A list?
Onkyo's page and our listing give 20 A x 2. Neither gives a supply range, current draw or cable gauge, so the main fuse and power cable are sized at fitting.
Is the V-T80.4A the same size as the V-T60.4A?
Both list 355 x 217 x 55 mm, so the same mounting space serves either. The V-T100.4A is 22 mm longer at 377 mm.
