Onkyo V-T750.5A Review: One 5-Channel Amplifier for Four Speakers and a Subwoofer

6 min read

The Onkyo V-T750.5A is a 5-channel Class AB amplifier with four speaker channels and one subwoofer channel, rated at 75 W x 4 plus 350 W x 1 RMS at 4 Ω and 90 W x 4 plus 500 W x 1 RMS at 2 Ω. Its Indian MRP is ₹20,990, level with the V-T100.4A and ₹9,000 below the X-A120.4A among the Onkyo power amplifiers we list. It suits a buyer who wants front speakers, rear speakers and a subwoofer driven from one box and one power run. You can see it on our Onkyo V-T750.5A product page.

Onkyo V-T750.5A 5-channel Class AB car amplifier

Quick summary

  • Four speaker channels at 75 W (4 Ω) or 90 W (2 Ω), plus one subwoofer channel at 350 W (4 Ω) or 500 W (2 Ω), all RMS per Onkyo. The 3,600 W figure is a maximum, not RMS.

  • One chassis of 357 x 217 x 55 mm and about 3.06 kg, with a listed fuse size of 40 A x 2 and distortion of 0.1% or less.

  • Same MRP as the V-T100.4A, which lists 25 W more per speaker channel at 4 Ω but has only four channels.

  • The sheet lists no filters, bridging or input connectors, and no owner reviews turned up in October 2026.

The specifications above were read from Onkyo's V-T750.5A page and cross-checked against our store listing, which gives the same values. The subwoofer-channel wording comes from our listing; Onkyo's page prints only the 350 W and 500 W figures.

How the five channels divide the work

The usual layout puts the front pair on two channels, the rear pair on two more and the subwoofer on the fifth. A fully active front stage also fits: a tweeter and a woofer on separate channels on each side uses all four speaker channels and leaves the fifth for the subwoofer. That layout needs crossovers somewhere, and Onkyo lists none on this amplifier, so it points towards a DSP. The Onkyo R-MS55 lists eight low-level outputs, more than the five channels this amplifier needs, and our guide to setting up a DSP in your car covers the steps.

The speaker channels list 75 W at 4 Ω and 90 W at 2 Ω, a 15 W step, so there is little reason to hunt for 2 Ω loads on them. Choose 4 Ω speakers rated close to 75 W RMS and let the amplifier work at its 4 Ω figure.

Choosing a subwoofer for the fifth channel

The subwoofer channel is rated at 350 W at 4 Ω and 500 W at 2 Ω. A single 4 Ω voice coil subwoofer uses the first figure. A dual 4 Ω voice coil model with its coils in parallel, or two single voice coil 4 Ω subwoofers in parallel, presents 2 Ω and uses the second. The sheet lists no rating below 2 Ω for this amplifier, so keep the load at 2 Ω or above. Pick a subwoofer whose RMS rating is close to the figure at the load you choose, and ignore the maximum-power number printed on the driver.

One channel for the subwoofer is handy in a hatchback boot, where a separate mono amplifier would need its own space and its own wiring. VA3 Car Studio builds custom subwoofer enclosures to the volume the subwoofer maker publishes.

What owners and reviewers say about the Onkyo V-T750.5A

No owner review or independent test of the Onkyo V-T750.5A came up in our October 2026 search, and no forum thread about it turned up either. Our store listing shows no customer reviews, and Onkyo's download page carries no amplifier manual. Noise floor, heat after a long drive with the subwoofer channel working and behaviour with all five channels loaded are therefore unverified. We would like to hear from anyone running one.

V-T750.5A against two amplifiers and the Zapco ST-5B

The alternative to one box is a four-channel amplifier plus a mono. An Onkyo V-T100.4A (₹20,990 MRP) and an Onkyo V-T1000.1D (₹19,990) together list 100 W x 4 and 400 W at 4 Ω, against 75 W x 4 and 350 W here. Their MRPs total ₹40,980 against ₹20,990, and you would have two chassis to place and more wiring to route.

The Zapco ST-5B is another 5-channel Class AB amplifier, with an MRP of ₹22,990, which is ₹2,000 more. Zapco lists 4 x 70 W plus 1 x 250 W at 4 Ω and 4 x 100 W plus 1 x 400 W at 2 Ω, and its catalogue gives the test as 14.4 V with distortion under 1%, a condition Onkyo's sheet does not state for its own ratings. On the printed numbers, the Onkyo lists 5 W more per speaker channel and 100 W more on the subwoofer channel at 4 Ω. At 2 Ω the Zapco lists 10 W more per speaker channel, and the Onkyo 100 W more on the subwoofer channel. Because the test conditions differ, treat these as what each maker prints, not a ranking. Zapco also lists RCA and speaker-level inputs, a variable crossover and bass boost, which the Onkyo sheet does not.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the V-T750.5A if you want a complete amplifier for four speakers and one subwoofer in a single chassis, your speakers sit comfortably around 75 W RMS, and you will confirm the input connectors and filters before ordering.

Look elsewhere if your speakers want 100 W or more per channel (the V-T100.4A lists 100 W at 4 Ω), you need documented crossovers and inputs on the amplifier (the ST-5B lists them), or your subwoofer needs more than 500 W.

Installation notes for Indian cars

At 357 x 217 x 55 mm and about 3.06 kg, the V-T750.5A replaces what would otherwise be two chassis, which helps where the boot floor is shared with a spare wheel and luggage. Class AB amplifiers run warm, so give it air, keep it clear of carpet and mount it on a board rather than on a spare-wheel cover.

A fuse size of 40 A x 2 is listed, and the sheet stops there: nothing on supply range, current draw or cable gauge, and no manual on Onkyo's site that we could find. The main fuse and power cable are therefore set when the amplifier is fitted. Voltage at idle with the AC and headlights on tends to be lower than with the engine revving, which is worth bearing in mind for an amplifier with a 350 W subwoofer channel. Five channels also mean four speaker pairs plus a subwoofer pair to route, which is where a tidy install pays off. The fitting itself can be done at VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad.

Price and where to buy

The Onkyo V-T750.5A has an MRP of ₹20,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current price on the V-T750.5A listing. Warranty terms are set by Onkyo; confirm them with us before ordering.

The bottom line

The V-T750.5A puts four speaker channels and a 350 W subwoofer channel in one 3.06 kg chassis for the same MRP as the four-channel V-T100.4A. What it lacks is documentation: no filters, inputs or bridging on the sheet, and no reviews. If a DSP will handle the crossovers that matters less. If it will not, confirm the controls before you order.

Onkyo V-T750.5A FAQ

Which channel is the Onkyo V-T750.5A's subwoofer channel?

Our listing describes four speaker channels and one subwoofer channel, and Onkyo rates the extra channel at 350 W at 4 Ω and 500 W at 2 Ω. Onkyo's page does not say which terminal pair it is, so check the markings on the amplifier before wiring.

Does the V-T750.5A have a built-in crossover?

Not listed. Neither Onkyo's page nor our listing gives filter ranges, so confirm before you plan a layout that depends on them, or do the filtering in a DSP.

Can the V-T750.5A drive a 2 Ω subwoofer load?

Onkyo rates the subwoofer channel at 500 W at 2 Ω, so a 2 Ω load is within its published ratings. Nothing lower than 2 Ω is listed.
