Onkyo V-T1000.1D Review: Mono Class D Amplifier Rated for 4 Ω, 2 Ω and 1 Ω Loads
The Onkyo V-T1000.1D is a mono Class D amplifier rated at 400 W RMS at 4 Ω, 600 W at 2 Ω and 1,000 W at 1 Ω, with a separate 6,000 W maximum-power figure. Its Indian MRP is ₹19,990. Our listing describes it as a mono-block amplifier for subwoofers, and its 30 to 180 Hz frequency response is a bass range, so it would feed subwoofers rather than full-range speakers. You can see it on our Onkyo V-T1000.1D product page.

Quick summary
RMS power is listed at three loads: 400 W at 4 Ω, 600 W at 2 Ω and 1,000 W at 1 Ω. The 6,000 W figure is a maximum, not RMS.
Frequency response is 30 to 180 Hz, in a 367 x 217 x 55 mm body of about 3.2 kg. No fuse size, distortion figure, low-pass or subsonic filter is listed.
The MRP is ₹6,000 below the Deaf Bonce MLA-1000 and ₹5,000 below the Hertz DP 1.500, both mono Class D amplifiers that state their ratings at 14.4 V.

Onkyo's V-T1000.1D page gives the same figures as our store listing. Its description line reads Class D mono block amplifier; the words for subwoofers come from our listing.
Reading the 4 Ω, 2 Ω and 1 Ω ratings
The three RMS lines climb as the load falls: 400 W at 4 Ω, 600 W at 2 Ω and 1,000 W at 1 Ω. The step is 200 W from 4 Ω to 2 Ω and 400 W from 2 Ω to 1 Ω. The 1,000 W figure is therefore available only when the subwoofer wiring presents a 1 Ω load. On a 4 Ω subwoofer, the figure that applies is 400 W.
Onkyo states no supply voltage, distortion level or test condition for any of the three. The 6,000 W maximum is six times the 1,000 W RMS figure and plays no part in choosing a subwoofer, so use the RMS line for the load you will present.
Wiring a subwoofer to the load you want
Add up the RMS ratings of the subwoofers you wire in and compare that total with the Onkyo figure at the resulting load. A single 4 Ω voice coil subwoofer is a 4 Ω load, and two of them wired in parallel make 2 Ω. A dual 4 Ω voice coil subwoofer with its coils in parallel is 2 Ω, and two of those wired in parallel make 1 Ω, as does a single dual 2 Ω subwoofer with its coils in parallel.
Onkyo lists nothing below 1 Ω, so do not wire lower. As an illustration, two subwoofers rated at 500 W RMS each and wired to 1 Ω total 1,000 W, which matches the 1 Ω line. VA3 Car Studio builds custom subwoofer boxes for the drivers you choose.
No filters listed: where the low-pass comes from
Onkyo lists no low-pass or subsonic filter, bass boost or remote bass control on the V-T1000.1D, so unless you confirm that the unit has a low-pass filter, plan to set the crossover point elsewhere, in the head unit or a DSP. The Onkyo R-MP350 lists eight low-level outputs and a 31-band equaliser, so a spare output there can carry the subwoofer signal, provided the connectors match. VA3 Car Studio offers DSP tuning.
What owners and reviewers say about the Onkyo V-T1000.1D
No owner review, forum discussion or independent test of the Onkyo V-T1000.1D surfaced when we looked in October 2026. The pages we could read were Onkyo's own specification table, our store listing, which shows no customer reviews, and Onkyo's download page, which has no file for this amplifier. Amazon India, Flipkart, YouTube and Reddit block automated reading and could not be searched. How it performs on a real 1 Ω load, how warm it runs and how it sounds are therefore unverified, and we would like to hear from owners.
V-T1000.1D against the Deaf Bonce MLA-1000 and Hertz DP 1.500
The Deaf Bonce MLA-1000 is a mono Class D amplifier at ₹25,990 MRP, which is ₹6,000 more. Deaf Bonce states its ratings at 14.4 V: 990 W at 1 Ω, 680 W at 2 Ω and 400 W at 4 Ω. On the printed numbers the Onkyo lists 10 W more at 1 Ω, 80 W less at 2 Ω and the same 400 W at 4 Ω, but Onkyo gives no voltage, so the lines cannot be ranked. Deaf Bonce also lists a 32 to 300 Hz low-pass filter, a 10 to 50 Hz subsonic filter, bass boost, a phase control and a remote bass control, none of which the Onkyo lists.
The Hertz DP 1.500 is a mono Class D amplifier at ₹24,990, which is ₹5,000 more. Hertz rates it at 14.4 V and 1% distortion as 280 W at 4 Ω and 500 W at 2 Ω, with a 2 Ω minimum load, so it has no 1 Ω rating. It lists a 50 to 250 Hz low-pass filter, a 25 Hz subsonic filter and an input for the optional HRC 02 remote level control, and it is much smaller at 190 x 190 x 50 mm and 1.62 kg.
Within Onkyo's own range, the V-T750.5A lists 350 W at 4 Ω and 500 W at 2 Ω on its subwoofer channel and adds four speaker channels, so a single subwoofer at those loads may not need a separate mono amplifier. It has no 1 Ω rating.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the V-T1000.1D if you are building a subwoofer system that needs a 1 Ω rating from a mono amplifier, you can set the low-pass filter in a DSP or head unit, and you will confirm the connectors and fuse details before ordering.
Look elsewhere if you want a low-pass filter and subsonic filter on the amplifier itself (the MLA-1000 and DP 1.500 list both), or if your subwoofer is a single 4 Ω driver rated around 250 W, where the Hertz's 280 W at 4 Ω is the closer match.
Installation notes for Indian cars
A 1,000 W rating at 1 Ω means a heavy current whenever the subwoofer is working hard, and a traffic jam with the AC on is when the voltage at idle tends to be lower. Onkyo publishes no fuse size, supply range, current draw or wiring recommendation, and we found no manual on its site, so the main fuse and power cable are sized at fitting.
The body is 367 x 217 x 55 mm, so it needs a flat, rigid panel with air around it and no contact with carpet. Keep it out of any low spot where water pools. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.
Price and where to buy
The Onkyo V-T1000.1D has an MRP of ₹19,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current price on the V-T1000.1D listing. Warranty terms are set by Onkyo; confirm them with us before ordering.
The bottom line
The V-T1000.1D is the only one of the seven Onkyo X-A and V-T amplifiers we list with a 1 Ω rating, and its MRP is below both the Deaf Bonce and Hertz mono amplifiers compared here. Around that power figure the sheet is thin, with no fuse size, distortion figure or filters and no reviews. If you plan a 1 Ω build, confirm the supply and fuse details before ordering.
Onkyo V-T1000.1D FAQ
What is the Onkyo V-T1000.1D's RMS power at 1 Ω?
Onkyo lists 1,000 W RMS at 1 Ω, 600 W at 2 Ω and 400 W at 4 Ω. The 6,000 W figure is a maximum, not RMS.
Does the V-T1000.1D have a built-in low-pass filter?
Not listed. Onkyo's page and our listing show no low-pass or subsonic filter, bass boost or remote bass control, so set the crossover in the head unit or a DSP.
Can the V-T1000.1D drive a 4 Ω subwoofer?
Yes, within the published ratings. Onkyo rates it at 400 W RMS at 4 Ω, so a 4 Ω load gets the 400 W figure, not 1,000 W.
