Recoil RX69 Review: Echo Pro 6x9 Coaxial, 90 W RMS and 180 W Peak

6 min read

The Recoil RX69 is a 6x9-inch (about 152 x 229 mm) two-way coaxial speaker from Recoil's Echo Pro range, rated at 90 W RMS and 180 W peak, with a 4 ohm impedance, 87 dB sensitivity and a 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. Its Indian MRP is ₹17,000, which is ₹4,000 above the 6.5-inch Echo Pro RX65 and ₹8,000 above the 6x9 Echo series RCX694. You can see it on our Recoil RX69 product page.

Recoil RX69 Echo Pro 6x9 inch two-way coaxial speakers

Quick summary

  • The RMS rating is 90 W. The 180W in our listing title is the peak figure and is not RMS.

  • Neither Recoil nor our listing says whether 90 W RMS is per speaker or for a pair, or whether one speaker or two are supplied. Confirm with Recoil or the distributor, and plan around 45 W RMS per speaker until you have.

  • Recoil publishes 4 ohm, 87 dB and 50 Hz to 20 kHz, but no mounting depth or cut-out size, so a 6x9 needs measuring in the car.

  • We found no reviews of the RX69, on Recoil's pages or elsewhere.

These figures come from our listing and Recoil's RX69 page, which agree; the surround and the magnet weight come from Recoil's US page. Recoil's main-site page is a bare specification list with no description.

The 180W in the title is peak: reading 90 W RMS

Recoil's specification list gives 90 W RMS and 180 W peak, and our listing repeats both. The 180W in the listing title is therefore the peak rating. The continuous rating, the one to match an amplifier to, is 90 W.

Neither source says what the 90 W covers. Recoil's RCX694 and RMM65 pages print (Pair) beside their power figures, but the RX69 page prints no label, and our listing name says Speakers while its description says speaker. If 90 W RMS is per speaker, a pair takes 180 W RMS in total; if it is for the pair, each speaker takes about 45 W RMS. Confirm with Recoil or the distributor, and until then use 45 W RMS per speaker as the cautious planning figure.

The Recoil DII700.4 is rated at 95 W RMS per channel into 4 ohm at 14.4 V. That is 5 W above 90 W if the rating is per speaker and about double the 45 W share if it is for the pair, so set the gains conservatively and use a high-pass filter either way. Our guide to why a car needs an amplifier says to look at RMS ratings rather than peak power, and Recoil's own buying guide says the same, though it is promotional and names no model.

Sensitivity, bass range and tweeter

Recoil lists 87 dB with no test conditions and 50 Hz to 20 kHz with no tolerance, so read both as stated figures, not measured curves. The 6.5-inch RX65 states 88 dB and 60 Hz to 20 kHz. A head unit's built-in amplifier typically supplies far less than this speaker's rated power, so budget for an amplifier if you want to use the full rating.

The tweeter is a silk dome with a 1 in voice coil, and the woofer voice coil is listed at 1.4 in. Recoil's pages do not describe a crossover, so we cannot say what is built in.

What owners and reviewers say about the Recoil RX69

When we checked in October 2026, Recoil's own page for the RX69 showed no reviews, and its US page showed no rating. We found no independent owner reviews or tests, and have no related-model feedback to offer. Some forum and retailer search pages were blocked or returned errors, so write-ups may exist that we could not see. If you own the RX69, tell us in the comments which car and amplifier you use and whether you received one speaker or two.

Recoil RX69 vs RX65 and RCX694

The Echo Pro Recoil RX65 (₹13,000 MRP) is the 6.5-inch coaxial in the same range. It is listed at 70 W RMS and 140 W peak, also without a pair or per-speaker label. Compared on the same basis, the RX69's 90 W RMS is higher, but with neither basis stated the two cannot be compared exactly. The RX65 costs ₹4,000 less.

The Echo series Recoil RCX694 (₹9,000 MRP) is also a 6x9 coaxial, but Recoil labels its 70 W RMS and 140 W peak as the pair's, which is 35 W RMS per speaker. Whichever way the RX69's label reads, it is rated higher on the same basis: 90 W against 70 W for a pair, or 90 W against 35 W per speaker. The RCX694 has a PEI dome tweeter with a built-in crossover and publishes no impedance, sensitivity or frequency response. The RX69 costs ₹8,000 more at MRP.

Fitting a 6x9 in an Indian car

Check first that your car has 6x9 positions at all, because not every car does. Recoil gives no mounting depth or cut-out size, so measure the opening, the depth behind it and the clearance for glass or trim before you order.

Rear shelves take direct sun through the glass, so check that any foam or adhesive tolerates the heat. Damping on the metal behind a door-mounted 6x9 helps; our sound damping guide shows where the material goes, and our installation etiquette guide says to unplug the battery before any electrical work. If your car has no clean 6x9 position, VA3 Car Studio builds speaker pods and door baffles. It also offers professional installation in Ghaziabad and DSP tuning.

Price and where to buy

The Recoil RX69 has an India MRP of ₹17,000. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's price on the RX69 product page. Our listing calls it a genuine Recoil product. Recoil's warranty page is written for the US and covers the original purchaser with a receipt from an authorised dealer, so confirm with Recoil or its distributor what applies to stock sold in India.

The bottom line

The RX69 is a 6x9 coaxial rated 90 W RMS and 180 W peak, with 4 ohm, 87 dB and 50 Hz to 20 kHz published, but no stated basis for the power figures, no fitting dimensions and no reviews. Buy it if your car has 6x9 positions, you will confirm the power basis with Recoil or the distributor first and you want published impedance and sensitivity. Look elsewhere if you need the dimensions or owner feedback before buying, or a 6.5-inch fit, which is the RX65.

Recoil RX69 FAQ

What is the Recoil RX69's RMS power?

Recoil and our listing give 90 W RMS and 180 W peak. The 180W in the listing title is the peak figure and is not RMS. Neither says whether the ratings are per speaker or for a pair, so confirm with Recoil or the distributor and plan with 45 W RMS per speaker until then.

Is the Recoil RX69 sold as a pair?

Recoil's pages do not say. Our listing name says Speakers but its description says speaker, so confirm with Recoil or the distributor how many come in the box before you order.

What are the RX69's impedance and sensitivity?

Recoil lists 4 ohm, 87 dB sensitivity and a 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, with no test conditions for the sensitivity and no tolerance for the frequency range.

How does the RX69 differ from the RCX694?

Both are 6x9 two-way coaxials. The RX69 is rated 90 W RMS, on a basis Recoil does not state, against 70 W RMS for the RCX694's pair. It publishes 4 ohm, 87 dB and 50 Hz to 20 kHz, which Recoil does not for the RCX694, and costs ₹8,000 more at MRP.
