Recoil RX65 Review: Echo Pro 6.5-Inch Coaxial, 70 W RMS or 50 W RMS

5 min read

The Recoil RX65 is a 6.5-inch (165 mm) two-way coaxial speaker from Recoil's Echo Pro series, rated at 70 W RMS and 140 W peak on Recoil's main site and in our listing, with a 4 ohm impedance, 88 dB sensitivity and a 60 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. Its Indian MRP is ₹13,000, which is ₹4,000 above the Echo Plus RMX65 and ₹7,000 above the Echo series RCX65. You can see it on our Recoil RX65 product page.

Recoil RX65 Echo Pro 6.5 inch two-way coaxial speakers

Quick summary

  • The RMS rating is 70 W. The 140W in our listing title is the peak figure and is not RMS.

  • Recoil's US page prints 50 W RMS and 100 W max for the RX65, so Recoil's own pages disagree. Neither says whether its figures are per speaker or for a pair.

  • The Echo Pro name is not a power guide: the cheaper Echo Plus RMX65 is rated 160 W RMS for the pair, which is 80 W RMS per speaker, above the RX65 on every reading we can make.

  • We found no reviews of the RX65. It is not the Pro RX65-4P, which our store lists as a separate speaker.

These figures come from our listing and Recoil's RX65 page, which agree. Recoil's US page agrees on the sensitivity, cone, surround and tweeter, but gives different power figures, and it is the source of the magnet weight.

Two sets of power figures: 70 W RMS or 50 W RMS

Recoil's main site and our listing give 70 W RMS and 140 W peak, so the 140W in our listing title is the peak figure. Recoil's US page gives 50 W RMS and 100 W max. Neither page says whether its figures are per speaker or for a pair, and Recoil does not explain the gap. That leaves four possible RMS ratings per speaker:

  • Main site and our listing: 70 W if the figure is per speaker, 35 W if it is for a pair.

  • US page: 50 W if the figure is per speaker, 25 W if it is for a pair.

Confirm with Recoil or the distributor which applies. Until you have, use the lowest, 25 W RMS per speaker, as the cautious planning figure. The Recoil R46 DSP amplifier is rated at 4 x 25 W RMS into 4 ohm at 14.4 V, which matches that figure and sits at or below the other three. Our guide to why a car needs an amplifier says to look at RMS ratings rather than peak power.

What owners and reviewers say about the Recoil RX65

When we checked in October 2026, Recoil's own page for the RX65 showed no reviews, and its US page showed no rating. We found no independent owner reviews or tests, and have no related-model feedback to offer. Some forum and retailer search pages were blocked or returned errors, so write-ups may exist that we could not see. If you own the RX65, tell us in the comments which car and amplifier you use.

Recoil RX65 vs RMX65, RCX65 and RX65-4P

The Echo Plus Recoil RMX65 (₹9,000 MRP) is also a 6.5-inch coaxial. It is rated 160 W RMS for the pair, which is 80 W RMS per speaker, and lists 4 ohm, 89 dB and 60 Hz to 20 kHz plus mounting figures. Whichever Recoil page is right about the RX65, the RMX65's rating is higher, and it costs ₹4,000 less at MRP.

The Echo Recoil RCX65 (₹6,000 MRP) is rated 100 W RMS and 200 W peak for the pair, which is 50 W RMS per speaker. Because the RX65's basis is unstated, the two cannot be compared directly on power. The RCX65 publishes no impedance, sensitivity or frequency response, which the RX65 does, but it does publish a mounting depth, which the RX65 does not. The RX65 costs ₹7,000 more at MRP. For 6x9 openings, the Echo Pro Recoil RX69 is the larger coaxial in the same series.

Do not confuse the RX65 with the Pro RX65-4P. Our listing for the Recoil RX65-4P describes a separate pair of 6.5 in coaxial speakers from Recoil's Red Storm series with a horn bullet tweeter, so check the full model name when you compare prices or ratings.

Installation notes for Indian cars

Measure before you cut. Recoil publishes no mounting depth, cut-out size or box contents for the RX65, and the RMX65's mounting figures should not be borrowed for it. Check the depth behind the panel and the window clearance in the actual door.

A firm baffle, a foam seal and damping on the door skin all help a 6.5-inch coaxial; our sound damping guide shows where the material goes, and our installation etiquette guide covers the battery and the final test. If the factory opening is awkward, VA3 Car Studio builds door baffles and speaker pods. It also offers professional installation in Ghaziabad and DSP tuning.

Price and where to buy

The Recoil RX65 has an India MRP of ₹13,000. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's price on the RX65 product page. Our listing calls it a genuine Recoil product. Recoil's warranty page is written for the US and covers the original purchaser with a receipt from an authorised dealer, so confirm with Recoil or its distributor what applies to stock sold in India.

The bottom line

The RX65 is an Echo Pro 6.5-inch coaxial that publishes 4 ohm, 88 dB and 60 Hz to 20 kHz, but with two different power ratings, no stated basis for either, no fitting dimensions and no reviews. Buy it if you want a 6.5-inch coaxial with a published impedance and sensitivity and will confirm the power rating with Recoil or the distributor first. Look elsewhere if you want a higher published rating, which the RMX65 gives for ₹4,000 less at MRP, or if you need fitting dimensions in writing.

Recoil RX65 FAQ

What is the Recoil RX65's RMS power?

Recoil's main site and our listing give 70 W RMS and 140 W peak, while Recoil's US page gives 50 W RMS and 100 W max. None says per speaker or per pair, and the 140W in our listing title is the peak figure, not RMS. Confirm with Recoil or the distributor and plan with 25 W RMS per speaker until then.

Is the Recoil RX65 the same as the RX65-4P?

No. The RX65-4P is a separate speaker that our listing places in Recoil's Red Storm series, with a horn bullet tweeter. Check the full model name when you compare prices or ratings.

What are the RX65's impedance and sensitivity?

Recoil lists 4 ohm, 88 dB sensitivity and a 60 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, and its US page agrees on the 88 dB. Recoil gives no test conditions for the sensitivity figure.

How does the RX65 differ from the RMX65?

Both are 6.5-inch coaxials that publish 4 ohm and 60 Hz to 20 kHz. The RMX65 is rated 160 W RMS per pair, which is 80 W per speaker, and lists 89 dB, while the RX65 is rated 70 W RMS on an unstated basis and lists 88 dB. The RX65 costs ₹4,000 more at MRP.
