Figures come from Audison's APK 165P page, its datasheet and our listing. Audison's pages and datasheet give no depth or cutout. The US retailer ABT lists the same 2.62 in woofer depth and adds a 5.55 in cutout, which is the retailer's figure and not Audison's.
The AP 6.5P woofer: 5.6 mm of Xmax and a 60 Hz resonance
Audison lists a 32 mm voice coil in CCAW, which stands for copper-clad aluminium wire, a 100 x 40 x 18 mm magnet and a woofer weight of 1.45 kg. Xmax is 5.6 mm, resonance is 60 Hz and Qts is 0.55. Our listing describes increased cone excursion and a compact basket. We have not measured any of it.
The AP 1P tweeter, AIF faceplates and crossover
The AP 1P is a 29 mm Tetolon fibre dome with a 25 mm voice coil and a double neodymium magnet group. Audison supplies it with AIF, short for Any Install Faceplate, which means three faceplates and three mounting accessories in the box.
Audison's page names the APCX P 2T crossover for the tweeter and the APCX P 2W for the woofer, and lists them as separate products. The crossover point is 4 kHz, with a 12 dB per octave high-pass on the tweeter and a 6 dB per octave low-pass on the woofer. A verified-purchase reviewer on eBay Germany found the crossover filters a little awkward to place because of their size, though they fit. Plan their position before you cut anything.
Powering the Audison APK 165P
Audison's page positions the kit with the AP F8.9 bit and its other Prima amplifiers in high-power configurations. That is promotional wording, and we have not paired them. A four-channel amplifier that delivers something near 115 W continuous per channel at 4 ohm matches the rating. The 345 W peak figure describes short bursts, so do not size an amplifier by it. Audison gives no recommended amplifier power range.
Unlike several other Prima datasheets we read, this one states test conditions. The system figure of 92.5 dB is at 2.83 V into 4 ohm, which is 2 W, and the woofer figure of 89.5 dB is at 1 W. Two watts is 3 dB above one watt, so the two numbers agree. Do not set the woofer's 89.5 dB against the 93.5 dB on Audison's APK 165 page, because that page states no conditions.
What owners and reviewers say about the Audison APK 165P
Owner feedback on the APK 165P is thin. This is what we found when we checked in October 2026.
The eBay Germany catalogue page shows one product review, written in German, dated 12 September 2025 and marked as a verified purchase, with a rating of 5.0 out of 5 from one rating. The reviewer calls the sound very decent and a huge improvement over the standard car audio system, adds that you should not expect miracles without an amplifier, and notes the crossover filters were tricky to place because of their size, though they fit. One review is not a pattern.
A CarAudio.com thread asks which of two Audison 6.5-inch sets to choose for an Audison amplifier. No poster says they own the APK 165P and one reply admits no first-hand experience of either set, so the thread gives no impressions of sound or fit. OnlineCarStereo and Sound of Tristate show no reviews, and ABT carries a note of one review but shows no text or rating. Elettromedia's store page has none. Audison's pages are promotional, so we use them for specifications only. We found no report from an Indian owner.
For related feedback, the OnlineCarStereo page for the lower-rated APK 165 carries one short review dated 5/1/2024 as the page shows it. It is very positive about the sound of the woofers and tweeters, says the crossovers make the audio more defined and distinct, finds the system powerful but clear, and says they do not regret buying the set despite Audison's high prices. That review covers the APK 165, not the 165P.
Audison APK 165P vs APK 165, Hertz CPK 165 and JL Audio C2-650
We cover the Audison APK 165 in a separate review. Audison's page for it gives 300 W peak and 100 W continuous, 2.5 mm of Xmax, an 80 Hz resonance, a 26 mm tweeter and a 3.5 kHz high-pass at 6 dB per octave with a 0 / +2 dB switch. The 165P lists 345 W and 115 W, 5.6 mm, 60 Hz, a 29 mm tweeter and a steeper 12 dB per octave tweeter slope at 4 kHz.
From Audison's sister brand, the Hertz CPK 165 is ₹29,990 MRP, which is ₹2,000 above the 165P, and is rated 105 W continuous and 315 W peak. Both sets use a 29 mm Tetolon fibre dome tweeter and both list a 60 Hz woofer resonance. The Hertz crosses over at 2.8 kHz at 12 dB per octave and has a three-position tweeter switch, and it includes woofer grilles. Hertz also quotes 92.5 dB, but we have not recorded its test conditions, so the match proves nothing.
The JL Audio C2-650 is ₹32,990 MRP, which is ₹5,000 above the 165P. JL states 60 W RMS and 91 dB at 1 W / 1 m, and publishes a recommended amplifier range of 15 to 100 W per channel. JL's RMS figure and Audison's continuous figure may not be measured the same way, so compare price, layout and fit first.
Who should buy the Audison APK 165P, and who shouldn't
Buy it if your car takes 6.5-inch speakers, you will power the set from an amplifier and you want a choice of tweeter faceplates and mounting accessories.
Look elsewhere if you plan to run it from a head unit alone, since the one verified buyer we found warns against expecting miracles without an amplifier, or if you need a published cutout or a long record of owner reports.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Our listing gives a woofer depth of 66.5 mm and a tweeter depth of 12.2 mm, but Audison does not publish either, and ABT's 5.55 in cutout is a retailer figure. Measure the opening and the space behind it, including window glass travel in a door.
VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation. We also build speaker pods and door baffles, which is one way to present the tweeter at the angle you choose, and we do DSP tuning for cars that have a DSP or a DSP amplifier. Place the crossover filters somewhere dry and away from the hottest panels, and tie the wiring down so it cannot rattle on rough roads. Damp the door first; our guide to applying sound damping in a car shows how.
Audison APK 165P price and where to buy

The bottom line
The Audison APK 165P is a 6.5-inch two-way component set rated 115 W continuous and 345 W peak, with 5.6 mm of woofer Xmax, a 29 mm tweeter and sensitivity figures that come with stated conditions. The evidence on how it sounds is one verified buyer on eBay Germany; the rest rests on Audison's published hardware. If you will use an amplifier and have the opening, ask us to check the fit. If you want the lower-rated set, ask us about the APK 165.
Audison APK 165P FAQ
What is the difference between the Audison APK 165P and the APK 165?
Audison rates the 165P at 115 W continuous and 345 W peak against 100 W and 300 W for the APK 165, lists 5.6 mm of Xmax against 2.5 mm, and fits a 29 mm tweeter against 26 mm.
How much power does the Audison APK 165P handle?
Audison rates the set at 115 W continuous and 345 W peak into 4 ohm. Choose an amplifier by the continuous figure and set the gains with a test tone. Audison gives no recommended amplifier power range.
Does the Audison APK 165P need an amplifier?
Audison positions the kit with its Prima amplifiers in high-power configurations, and the one verified buyer we found says not to expect miracles without an amplifier. A head unit clips early, so an amplifier is the better match.
What is the mounting depth of the Audison APK 165P?
Our listing gives 66.5 mm for the woofer and 12.2 mm for the tweeter, but Audison publishes no depth or cutout. Measure your opening, or ask us to check fitment before you order.
