Deaf Bonce MFT-25 Review: Wiring and Level-Matching a 106 dB Super Tweeter
Updated: Oct 6
The Deaf Bonce MFT-25 is a pair of compact Machete super tweeters with a neodymium motor, an aluminium diaphragm and a 1-inch CCAW voice coil, rated at 35 W RMS (70 W max) with an SPL figure of 106 dB and a response of 4 kHz to 20 kHz. At ₹8,990 MRP, it is one of the two most affordable Deaf Bonce super tweeters we stock, just above the MFT-25 Mini. It suits anyone adding a crisp top octave to a Machete or Hannibal front stage, provided it is filtered and level-matched properly, which is what this review is mostly about. See today's offer on our MFT-25 product page.

Quick summary
A 2.2-inch super tweeter with a 41.5 mm cut-out and 25.9 mm mounting depth, small enough for A-pillars and dashboard corners.
Our listing gives Deaf Bonce's recommended high-pass: 8 kHz at 12 dB per octave. It must never run full-range.
At 106 dB it is far louder per watt than Machete and Hannibal midranges, so it usually needs taming, not more power.
The listed box contents are two tweeters, a manual and a warranty card; no capacitor or crossover is listed.

The power, response, SPL, size and weight figures match Deaf Bonce's official MFT-25 page, checked in October 2026. The recommended filter and the ABS body material come from our listing; the official page lists the body simply as plastic and gives no filter, though the manual it links to shows the same 8 kHz, 12 dB per octave high-pass and an ABS body.
What a super tweeter does, and where the MFT-25 fits
In a loud front stage, a powerful midrange often plays up to 8 kHz or beyond, and the super tweeter covers only the top octave and a little more. That is the MFT-25's job. Its response is listed from 4 kHz, but the recommended 8 kHz high-pass keeps it well clear of that lower limit, where a small dome would have to move furthest and would distort or overheat first.
Deaf Bonce's own description, which is promotional, pitches the neodymium motor for efficiency and detail in a compact frame and says the shallow depth suits both factory upgrades and high-SPL builds. The aluminium diaphragm is light and stiff, and metal domes tend to sound bright, so aiming matters: pointing it straight at the listener emphasises the top end, while aiming it across the car softens it.
Crossover options: amplifier filter, DSP or capacitor
The cleanest route is an amplifier channel with its own high-pass. Among the Deaf Bonce amplifiers we sell, the MFA-4 series, the MFA-5.1000 and the Class AB MLA-4080 and MLA-4120 list high-pass filters reaching 12 kHz at 12 dB per octave, so they can apply the recommended 8 kHz setting directly. The MLA-160.4 and MLA-80.4XS stop at 400 Hz and the AAB-500.4D at 6 kHz, so those can't do it on their own. A DSP, as covered in our DSP setup guide, gives you any slope you like.
The common shortcut is a single capacitor in series with the tweeter. That makes a first-order filter, which rolls off at only 6 dB per octave, half the slope Deaf Bonce recommends. On a nominal 4 Ω load, textbook arithmetic puts about 5 µF near 8 kHz, and a larger capacitor lowers the crossover point and loads the tweeter with more energy. This is general first-order maths, not a Deaf Bonce figure, and a real tweeter's impedance varies, so treat it as a starting point. Use a non-polarised film capacitor rated at 100 V or more, and for a true 12 dB slope add an inductor across the tweeter or use an active filter.
Level matching: 106 dB beside a Machete or Hannibal midrange
Power handling is rarely the limit here. Above 8 kHz, music carries a small share of total energy, so a 35 W rating is generous on paper; what kills tweeters is clipping and filters set too low. The bigger practical issue is level. Our listings put the Machete Lite 60 at 92.7 dB, the Machete Fight 60 at 94.9 dB and the Hannibal HM-6E at 90.9 dB, all labelled SPL, so the MFT-25 sits roughly 11 to 15 dB higher on paper.
Wire it through a capacitor onto the same channel as one of those midranges and the top end will dominate. On a separate amplifier channel, simply run the tweeter gain much lower. On a shared channel, an L-pad attenuator tames it without upsetting the capacitor's crossover point the way a plain series resistor can.
What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce MFT-25
When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner or reviewer opinions on the MFT-25. The retailers, catalogues and forums we tried were blocked to us or didn't list it, so we can't report how it sounds in real cars. The only descriptive text we found is Deaf Bonce's own marketing summarised above.
If you have fitted a pair, especially alongside Machete or Hannibal midranges, we'd be glad to hear how you set the filter and level.
MFT-25 vs MFT-25 Mini, TH-25G and AT-32
The MFT-25 Mini costs ₹1,000 less and shares the 2.2-inch housing size and 41.5 mm cut-out, but it is rated at 30 W and 104.5 dB. The Hannibal TH-25G (₹10,990) moves to a titanium diaphragm and aluminium body with a response listed from 3 kHz, at 105 dB, but needs a 57.3 mm hole. The Apocalypse AT-32 (₹13,990) has the highest listed SPL of these, 108 dB.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the MFT-25 if you want an affordable, compact super tweeter for a Machete or Hannibal system, you have an amplifier channel or DSP that can high-pass it at 8 kHz, and you are willing to level-match it.
Skip it if you want a ready-made set with crossovers included; a component set such as the Machete MFC-60, which comes with crossovers, is simpler. And if you are pairing a very efficient Apocalypse midrange such as the AP-M61AC, listed at 101.6 dB, the MFT-25 Mini's 104.5 dB sits closer to it on paper.
Installation notes for Indian cars
The 41.5 mm cut-out and 25.9 mm depth are small enough for A-pillar trims, dashboard corners or small pods; our article on aluminium pods shows one approach. Measure behind the trim before drilling, since airbag curtains and wiring often run inside A-pillars.
Dashboard tops in an Indian summer get very hot, and the MFT-25's body is plastic, so A-pillars and sail panels, which often see less direct sun, are kinder locations. Route the cable away from sharp edges, keep any capacitor or L-pad accessible behind the trim, and test polarity by ear after installation. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad can mount and tune them for you.
Price and where to buy
The Deaf Bonce MFT-25 has an MRP of ₹8,990 for the pair. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current offer on the MFT-25 listing. Budget a little extra for a crossover or capacitor, since none is listed in the box. Every pair we sell is genuine.

The bottom line
The MFT-25 is a small, efficient, affordable super tweeter that does one job: the top octave. Its 35 W rating is plenty; its 106 dB output is the thing to manage. High-pass it at the recommended 8 kHz, ideally with a 12 dB slope, bring its level down to meet your midrange, and mount it out of the hottest sun.
Deaf Bonce MFT-25 FAQ
Does the Deaf Bonce MFT-25 need a capacitor or crossover?
Yes. It must never run full-range. Our listing gives Deaf Bonce's recommended high-pass of 8 kHz at 12 dB per octave, which an amplifier filter, a DSP or a second-order passive network can provide. A single capacitor gives only 6 dB per octave.
What capacitor value suits the MFT-25?
Deaf Bonce doesn't publish one. Standard first-order arithmetic for a nominal 4 Ω tweeter puts about 5 µF near 8 kHz; use a non-polarised film capacitor rated at 100 V or more and check the result by ear.
Why does the MFT-25 sound too loud next to my midrange?
Its 106 dB SPL figure is roughly 11 to 15 dB above Machete and Hannibal midranges on paper. Lower the tweeter channel's gain, or fit an L-pad if it shares a channel with the midrange.
