Updated: Oct 6

The Deaf Bonce AAB-500.4D is a four-channel Class D amplifier from the Apocalypse series, rated at 500 W RMS per channel into 1 ohm at 14.4 V, 320 W into 2 ohm and 200 W into 4 ohm, or 1,000 W x 2 when bridged into 2 ohm. Its Indian MRP is ₹59,990, level with the Machete MFA-4.320 at the top of the Deaf Bonce four-channel amplifiers we sell. It makes most sense in loud cars that wire several midrange speakers to each channel. Full details and today's offer are on our AAB-500.4D product page.

Deaf Bonce AAB-500.4D Apocalypse four-channel Class D car amplifier

Quick summary

  • All four channels are rated down to 1 ohm: 500 W each at 14.4 V and 450 W at 12 V.

  • Power falls to 320 W at 2 ohm and 200 W at 4 ohm, so it rewards parallel-wired banks of speakers.

  • Two bridged pairs deliver 1,000 W each into 2 ohm for subwoofers.

  • We found no owner reviews or independent tests when we checked in October 2026.

Figures come from Deaf Bonce's AAB-500.4D product page, which matches our store listing, and the controls from the owner's manual. Neither gives a fuse rating or current draw.

What 1-ohm stability actually means

A power rating only means something next to its load. Lower the impedance and output climbs, here from 200 W at 4 ohm to 320 W at 2 ohm and 500 W at 1 ohm. Every other Deaf Bonce four-channel we sell stops at 2 ohm per channel; this one goes further, which is the reason to buy it.

You reach 1 ohm by wiring speakers in parallel. The Deaf Bonce midrange drivers we sell are all 4-ohm units, so four on one channel present 1 ohm and each gets a quarter of the channel's 500 W, roughly 125 W. Across four channels that is a 16-speaker mid wall, as seen in SPL and loud SQL cars. Two per channel make 2 ohm and about 160 W each; a single 4-ohm speaker gets only 200 W.

Matching midrange speakers and subwoofers

For four speakers per channel, a 130 W-rated 4-ohm midrange such as the Hannibal HM-60 PRO or the Apocalypse AP-M61SE sits close to the 125 W each would receive. For two per channel, the 150 W AP-M60SQL lines up with the roughly 160 W on offer.

The AP-M61SE's owner's manual lists the AAB-500.4D among recommended amplifiers and suggests a 250–350 Hz high-pass at 12 dB/oct, which the AAB provides. Its suggested 8–12 kHz low-pass is beyond the AAB's 6 kHz limit, so that needs a processor such as the Machete M8-DSP.

For bass, bridge a channel pair into 2 ohm for 1,000 W. One Apocalypse SA252 D1, a 1,000 W RMS 12-inch with dual 1-ohm coils, presents 2 ohm with its coils in series and matches that output. Run mids on channels 1 and 2 and a sub on the bridged 3 and 4, or bridge both pairs for two subs. The manual lists a 0–12 dB bass level control but no separate subsonic filter.

Electrical needs: power, fusing and heat

Four channels at 500 W add up to 2,000 W RMS into 1 ohm, which demands a very large current. The 4 AWG power terminal is the thickest cable the amplifier accepts, so keep the run short and use full copper, not copper-clad aluminium. The manual puts the fuse holder within 40 cm of the battery's positive terminal; with no rating published, size the fuse to protect the cable.

The 12 V figure matters in India: 450 W per channel into 1 ohm, about 10% below the 14.4 V rating, and a car crawling through traffic with the AC on can sit well under 14.4 V. For a full 1-ohm load, plan the Big 3 wiring upgrade at minimum and check alternator and battery capacity.

The manual wants a mounting spot between 0 °C and 55 °C, ideally horizontal with good air circulation, and suggests cleaning heatsink dust with a damp cloth. Avoid spots under carpet or against boot panels that bake in May.

What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce AAB-500.4D

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner review, forum thread or independent test of this amplifier. Deaf Bonce's product page carries no reviews, and the speaker-manual recommendation above is the maker's own, so treat it as promotional.

A search of the Steve Meade Designs forum, a busy US SPL community, returned threads on Deaf Bonce subwoofers, midrange speakers and other amplifiers, but nothing about the AAB-500.4D. Several big review sites and forums were not reachable for us, so we won't invent a consensus. If you run one, tell us how it copes with a 1-ohm load in Indian heat.

AAB-500.4D vs Machete MFA-4.320 and the ASA two-channels

The obvious alternative at the same ₹59,990 MRP is the Machete MFA-4.320. It needs at least 2 ohm per channel, but makes 320 W per channel into 4 ohm and 480 W into 2 ohm, against the AAB's 200 W and 320 W, and bridges to 960 W x 2 into 4 ohm. The AAB replies with 1-ohm stability, a 105 dB signal-to-noise rating against 90 dB, and 8 AWG speaker terminals against 10 AWG.

For a mostly-subwoofer system, the two-channel Apocalypse ASA-1500.2 (1,500 W x 2 at 1 ohm, ₹74,990 MRP) suits heavier bass loads, and a mono such as the Atom 2000.1 PRO (2,000 W at 1 ohm, ₹39,990 MRP) beside a smaller four-channel is another route.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the AAB-500.4D if you are building a mid wall or a loud front stage with several 4-ohm mids per channel, want the option of bridging into 2-ohm subwoofer loads, and your electrical system is ready for 2,000 W.

Look elsewhere if you will run one or two speakers per channel or won't upgrade the electrics. The MFA-4.320 makes clearly more power into 4 and 2 ohm, and the cheaper MFA-4.220 (₹49,990 MRP) at least matches the AAB at those loads.

Installation notes for Indian cars

The manual shows RCA inputs and no speaker-level input. With a factory touchscreen head unit, add a line-output converter such as the Machete M6C, or use the M8-DSP with its four pairs of high-level inputs.

Work out every parallel load on paper, never go below 1 ohm per channel or 2 ohm bridged, and check each channel with a multimeter first; DC resistance reads slightly under nominal. Ground to bare chassis metal near the amplifier and use a proper firewall grommet for the power cable. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, can make baffles or pods for a mid wall, and can tune the DSP.

Price and where to buy

The AAB-500.4D carries an MRP of ₹59,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current offer on the Apocalypse AAB-500.4D product page. Every amplifier we sell is a genuine Deaf Bonce product.

The bottom line

The AAB-500.4D is a specialist. With a bank of 4-ohm mids on each channel and wiring to match, it does a job no other Deaf Bonce four-channel we sell can; with one speaker per channel it gives away power to the MFA-4.320 at the same price. With no owner reviews yet, buy it for its specification and install it carefully.

Deaf Bonce AAB-500.4D FAQ

Is the Deaf Bonce AAB-500.4D stable at 1 ohm?

Yes. Deaf Bonce rates all four channels down to 1 ohm, for 500 W RMS each at 14.4 V or 450 W at 12 V. Bridged, the minimum is 2 ohm, giving 1,000 W per pair.

How many speakers can the AAB-500.4D run?

With 4-ohm midrange speakers, four per channel in parallel reaches the 1-ohm minimum, so 16 in total, each receiving roughly 125 W at full output. Two per channel gives 2 ohm and about 160 W each.

Is the AAB-500.4D a good choice for one speaker per channel?

It works, but into 4 ohm it makes 200 W per channel. The MFA-4.320 has the same ₹59,990 MRP and makes 320 W per channel into 4 ohm.
