Deaf Bonce MFA-5.1000 Review: Five Channels to Run a Whole System From One Amp

Updated: Oct 6

The Deaf Bonce MFA-5.1000 is a five-channel Class D amplifier from the Machete MFA range: four channels rated at 80 W RMS each into 4 ohm plus a subwoofer channel of 300 W, rising to 4 x 120 W and 500 W into 2 ohm at 14.4 V. Its Indian MRP is ₹45,990, and it is the only five-channel Deaf Bonce amplifier we sell. It suits buyers who want front speakers, rear speakers and a sub from one chassis, with one power run and one set of settings to get right. Today's price is on our MFA-5.1000 product page.

Key facts

  • Four 80 W channels match Deaf Bonce's 80 W component sets, while the sub channel gives 300 W at 4 ohm or 500 W at 2 ohm.

  • The manual lists a 24 dB/oct subwoofer low-pass, a subsonic filter, bass boost and a phase switch on the sub channel.

  • It costs less at MRP than pairing an MFA-4.80 with an MFA-1.500, and its sub channel out-powers that mono at 2 and 4 ohm.

  • We found no owner reviews or independent tests when we checked in October 2026.

Power figures and the four-layer board come from the MFA-5.1000 page on Alphard Group's Russian store, and the controls from the MFA-5.1000 manual; both match our listing. Deaf Bonce's international page showed the power rows wrongly, as 4 W x 5, when we checked in October 2026.

How the five channels divide the work

Channels 1 and 2 suit a front component set. The Machete MFC-60 and MFC-615 are both rated at 80 W RMS into 4 ohm, an exact match. Channels 3 and 4 can drive rear coaxials such as the 50 W Machete MFX-60 with the gain turned down, or be bridged into a 4-ohm load for 240 W.

According to the manual, each channel pair has its own selector for high-pass, flat or low-pass, with the frequency set anywhere from 50 Hz to 12 kHz at 12 dB/oct. That means the front pair can be high-passed for the doors while the rear pair runs flat or with a different crossover point.

The subwoofer channel's controls

The fifth channel is the reason to choose this amplifier over a four-channel. It makes 300 W into 4 ohm, an exact match for a 300 W sub such as the Machete ML-12S D2 with its dual 2-ohm coils in series. Into 2 ohm it gives 500 W, the rating of the ML-12R in its dual 4-ohm form with the coils in parallel.

The manual lists a 50–250 Hz low-pass and a 10–55 Hz subsonic filter, both at 24 dB/oct, a bass boost of up to 12 dB at 45 Hz, a 0/180° phase switch and an input for a bass remote. The steeper slope keeps midrange out of the sub better than an MFA four-channel's 12 dB/oct filter, and the subsonic filter protects the cone in a ported box. Go easy on the boost: 12 dB at 45 Hz asks for far more power than the channel can give at full volume.

Power wiring and fusing

Run flat out into 2 ohm on every channel, the MFA-5.1000 totals 980 W, through a 4 AWG power terminal. The manual places the fuse holder within 40 cm of the battery's positive terminal, publishes no fuse value, and recommends checking the wiring with a 12 V 21 W bulb before fitting the fuses. Use full-copper cable and a solid ground. Ratings are quoted at 14.4 V with no 12 V figure, so a car idling with the AC on will make less.

What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce MFA-5.1000

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews or independent tests. Alphard Group's Russian store page carries no customer reviews, though its promotional text describes the amplifier as an economical all-in-one solution and claims a power reserve of about 15% over the rated figures, a claim we have no way to verify.

A Steve Meade Designs forum search returned Deaf Bonce subwoofer and speaker threads, and nothing on the Machete MFA amplifiers. Several review sites were not reachable for us, so we can't give you a verdict from owners. If you have one, please tell us how it's working out.

MFA-5.1000 vs an MFA-4.80 plus MFA-1.500

The obvious alternative is two amplifiers: an MFA-4.80 (₹29,990) for the speakers and an MFA-1.500 mono (₹23,990) for the sub, ₹7,990 more at MRP combined. The four-channel's ratings match channels 1–4 here, and its filters can run high-pass and low-pass together. The MFA-1.500 can drive a 1-ohm sub at 500 W, but at 2 ohm it makes 360 W and at 4 ohm 210 W, both less than the MFA-5.1000's sub channel.

So unless you need a 1-ohm subwoofer or band-pass filtering on the speaker channels, the five-channel gives you more sub power for less money, with one power cable and one remote lead.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the MFA-5.1000 if you want a complete front, rear and subwoofer system from one compact amplifier, with 80 W-class speakers and a 300–500 W sub.

Look elsewhere if your speakers need more than 80 W per channel, your sub is wired to 1 ohm, or you plan high-power SPL mids, which call for an MFA-4.180 or larger alongside a mono.

Installation notes for Indian cars

Speaker-level inputs are not listed, so with a factory touchscreen head unit use a converter such as the Machete M6C, which turns up to six speaker-level channels into three pairs of line outputs. The 272 mm chassis is compact enough to consider under a seat or behind the rear seat, but measure first and leave room for air. Set the sub's phase by ear from the driver's seat. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation and can build a custom subwoofer box for the sub you pair with it.

Price and where to buy

Deaf Bonce MFA-5.1000 - another view

The bottom line

The MFA-5.1000 is a sensible way to amplify a whole car: 80 W channels for Deaf Bonce's component and coaxial speakers, and a properly equipped sub channel with 24 dB/oct filtering. It beats the equivalent two-amplifier pair on price and sub power at 2 and 4 ohm. With no owner reviews yet, buy it on its published figures.

Deaf Bonce MFA-5.1000 FAQ
