Deaf Bonce MLA-1500 Review: 1,480 W of Bass and the Electrical Plan It Needs
Updated: Oct 6
The Deaf Bonce MLA-1500 is the most powerful Machete MLA monoblock we sell, a mono Class D subwoofer amplifier rated at 1,480 W RMS into 1 Ω, 920 W into 2 Ω and 540 W into 4 Ω at 14.4 V. Its India MRP is ₹29,990, ₹4,000 above the MLA-1000, and unlike its smaller siblings it lets you choose where its bass boost acts, anywhere from 30 to 80 Hz. It suits a builder running a pair of serious subwoofers who is ready to treat the car's electrics as part of the system. See the current offer on our MLA-1500 product page.

Quick summary
1,480 W at 1 Ω, 920 W at 2 Ω and 540 W at 4 Ω, all quoted at 14.4 V.

Power, filter, size and terminal figures are from Deaf Bonce's MLA-1500 product page and match our listing. The bass boost range, the subsonic off setting and the box contents come from the owner's manual shared with the MLA-800 and MLA-1000, with its own panel drawing for this model. Neither the product page nor our listing gives the power terminal size, so ask us before buying cable.
Tuning the bass controls properly
The most useful control here is the bass boost frequency. On the MLA-800 and MLA-1000 the boost is fixed at 45 Hz. Here you can move it anywhere between 30 and 80 Hz, so a modest boost can fill a dip in your car's response or reinforce the frequency where your box is tuned, instead of piling energy into a note the system can't play. Start flat, add boost only where you can hear the gap, and remember that every decibel of boost costs amplifier headroom.
The subsonic filter runs from off to 50 Hz. Leave it off for a sealed box and set it a little below a ported box's tuning frequency to protect the subwoofer. The 40 to 180 Hz low-pass covers normal crossover points. The manual also lists a remote control in the box.
What 1,480 W asks of your electrics
At 14.4 V, 1,480 W of output already implies more than 100 A from the battery before the amplifier's own losses are counted, so the real draw on full-power notes is higher. That is a heavy load for any car's charging system, and sustained high levels will pull voltage down.
Plan the electrics before the amplifier arrives. Upgrade the Big 3 charging and ground cables, make sure the battery is in good health, and consider a second battery if you will play loud with the engine idling. The manual places the fuse holder within 40 cm of the battery's positive terminal. Because the product page doesn't give the power terminal size, we'd check it and size the cable and fuse to suit before installation.
Subwoofer pairings
These are our own calculations from published ratings, not Deaf Bonce recommendations. Two MF-12S subwoofers in dual 4 Ω form, each wired in parallel to 2 Ω and then paralleled, present 1 Ω and share 1,480 W, about 740 W each against their 800 W RMS ratings. The same layout works with two MF-15S drivers if your boot can take larger boxes. For a single driver, an MF-12R in dual 4 Ω form at 2 Ω sees 920 W against a 1,200 W rating. Don't put a single 800 W subwoofer on the 1 Ω output.
What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce MLA-1500
When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews, forum threads or independent tests of the MLA-1500 that we could read and verify. The listing at Alphard Audio, the US dealer store named on Deaf Bonce's site, shows no customer reviews. The Ukrainian price catalogue E-Katalog lists no user reviews either, and its video tab held nothing we could view. Large marketplaces and car forums were blocked to us.
We won't present an owner consensus that doesn't exist. What is verifiable is that the figures printed by the US dealer and E-Katalog agree with Deaf Bonce's and with our listing. If you run an MLA-1500, we'd like to hear how it handles long sessions in summer heat.
MLA-1500 vs MLA-1000, Atom PRO and MFA-1.1500
The MLA-1000 (₹25,990 MRP) saves ₹4,000 for 990 W at 1 Ω and a fixed 45 Hz boost. The honest competition comes from Deaf Bonce's own Apocalypse range. The Atom 1300.1 PRO (₹27,990 MRP) makes less power, 1,300 W at 1 Ω and 780 W at 2 Ω, but in a 180 x 140 x 54 mm case, and it lists high-level inputs and a 12 V rating of 1,020 W.
For ₹3,000 more than the MLA-1500, the Atom 1600.1 PRO (₹32,990 MRP) quotes 1,600 W at 1 Ω, 1,010 W at 2 Ω and 1,430 W at 12 V in a 230 x 140 x 54 mm chassis. The Machete MFA-1.1500 (₹39,990 MRP) quotes 1,500 W at 1 Ω with a steeper 24 dB/oct low-pass. Against these, the MLA-1500 counters with a tunable bass boost, which isn't listed for any of them, and a higher quoted signal-to-noise ratio: 99 dB, against 93 dB for both Atoms and 88 dB for the MFA-1.1500.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the MLA-1500 if you are driving two 800 W-class subwoofers or one 1,200 W driver, want to tune the bass boost frequency to your car, and have both boot space and a plan for the electrics.
Look elsewhere if space is tight, where the Atom PRO models are far smaller, or if your car has a small battery and stock charging cables you don't intend to upgrade. The MLA-1000 is the more forgiving choice for a single subwoofer.
Installation notes for Indian cars
At 375 x 216 x 50 mm and 4.18 kg packed, the MLA-1500 belongs on a solid board in the boot. The manual asks for a location between 0 °C and 55 °C and warns the amplifier may reach 80 °C in operation, so keep it clear of carpet and give the heatsink open air through an NCR summer.
Keep RCA leads away from the power cable, check the final impedance before connecting, and set the gain with a test tone. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, including the power wiring, and can build a custom subwoofer box.
Price and where to buy
The Deaf Bonce MLA-1500 has an MRP of ₹29,990. Check today's price and stock on our Machete MLA-1500 listing, which describes it as a genuine Deaf Bonce product, and ask us about India warranty terms.

The bottom line
The MLA-1500 brings nearly 1.5 kW at 1 Ω, a tunable bass boost and a high quoted signal-to-noise figure to the Machete MLA range. It is physically large, and Deaf Bonce's smaller Atom PRO models are worth comparing before you decide. Either way, the electrical work matters as much as the amplifier: wire the car for it, match the subwoofers to its output, and it can anchor a serious bass build.
Deaf Bonce MLA-1500 FAQ
Which subwoofers suit the Deaf Bonce MLA-1500?
On our own arithmetic from published ratings, two dual 4 Ω MF-12S or MF-15S subwoofers, each wired to 2 Ω and then paralleled to 1 Ω, share its 1,480 W at about 740 W each, inside their 800 W RMS ratings. A single dual 4 Ω MF-12R at 2 Ω also suits it. These are our calculations, not Deaf Bonce recommendations.
What does the MLA-1500's bass boost frequency control do?
It sets the centre of the bass boost anywhere from 30 to 80 Hz, with up to 12 dB of boost according to the manual. The MLA-800 and MLA-1000 have their boost fixed at 45 Hz, so this lets you target your car's own bass dip.
Can the Deaf Bonce MLA-1500 run on a stock electrical system?
For short bursts, often yes, but at full output it implies more than 100 A of supply current. For regular loud use, upgrade the Big 3 cables, check the battery's health and consider a second battery if you play loud at idle.
