Recoil RCX65 Review: 6.5-Inch Coaxials Rated 100 W RMS per Pair, Fitting Figures
The Recoil RCX65 is a pair of 6.5-inch (165 mm) two-way coaxial speakers from Recoil's Echo series, rated at 100 W RMS and 200 W peak for the pair, with a polypropylene cone, a butyl rubber surround and a PEI dome tweeter with a built-in crossover. The 100W in our listing title is the pair's RMS rating. Its Indian MRP is ₹6,000, the same as the 5.25-inch RCX525 and ₹5,000 below the component REM65. You can see the pair on our Recoil RCX65 product page.

Quick summary
The continuous rating is 100 W RMS for the pair, about 50 W per speaker if shared equally. The 200 W figure is peak and is not RMS.
Of the four Echo series coaxials we list, it is the only one with usable fitting figures: an overall size, a 142 mm centre bore and a mounting depth of 64 mm / 71 mm. Recoil does not explain the two depths or call the bore a cut-out.
Impedance, sensitivity and frequency response are not published. The only review we found is one five-star entry on Recoil's own store.

The overall size and mounting depth appear in our listing and on Recoil's RCX65 page; the centre bore is from Recoil's page only. That page's mounting-pattern entry is garbled, so we leave it out, along with its unlabelled size and weight entries.
How much room the RCX65 needs
Recoil gives the RCX65 more fitting figures than any other Echo coaxial we list, but they need careful reading. The overall size is printed as two numbers, 185.5 mm and 156.2 mm, without saying which part of the frame each describes. The centre bore is 142 mm, which Recoil does not call the cut-out. The mounting depth is two values, 64 mm and 71 mm, with no explanation.
Until Recoil or the distributor says what they mean, plan for the larger 71 mm (2.79 in) of clear space behind the panel, and measure your own opening instead of trusting the bore. In a door, also check that the window glass clears the magnet at full travel.
Reading 100 W RMS and 200 W peak
Both figures are for the pair and only the first is RMS. Split evenly, that works out at 50 W RMS per speaker, which Recoil does not state itself; it is the same figure the one reviewer on Recoil's own page quotes for how they drive each speaker. Size an amplifier by RMS; Recoil's own buying guide says the same, though it is promotional and names no model.
About 50 W RMS per channel matches the rating. The Recoil R46 is rated at 25 W RMS per channel into 4 ohm, which is below that. The Recoil DII700.4 is rated at 95 W RMS per channel into 4 ohm at 14.4 V, nearly twice the rating, so its gains would need setting conservatively. Recoil publishes no impedance for the RCX65, so confirm it with Recoil or the distributor before choosing an amplifier.
What owners and reviewers say about the Recoil RCX65
When we checked in October 2026, the only feedback on the RCX65 itself was one review on Recoil's own product page, dated 14 July 2022 and rated five stars, with no verified-owner label and no reply from Recoil. The reviewer says the speakers stay loud and clear when played hard every day, calls the quality high for the price, and drives each speaker at 50 W RMS, adding that amplifier gain and crossover have to be set properly.
Recoil hosts and moderates that page, so it is not independent, and one review is a thin basis for a verdict. We found no independent reviews or tests, though some forum and retailer search pages were blocked or returned errors. If you own the RCX65, leave a comment with the car, the amplifier and what you hear.
Recoil RCX65 vs REM65, RCX525 and RLX65
The Recoil REM65 (₹11,000 MRP) is the component version. It has the same 100 W RMS and 200 W peak per pair, the same polypropylene cone and butyl surround, and separate silk soft-dome tweeters that mount flush or on the surface, with triple-level adjustment. It costs ₹5,000 more at MRP. Recoil's own page for it carries five maker-hosted reviews, but they are about the component set, not this coaxial.
The Recoil RCX525 (₹6,000 MRP) has identical power ratings in a 5.25-inch frame, and the Recoil RCX694 (₹9,000 MRP) is the 6x9, rated 70 W RMS per pair. We also list the L3 series Recoil RLX65, another 6.5-inch coaxial, rated 80 W RMS per pair at ₹5,000 MRP, which is ₹1,000 less than the RCX65.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Measure the opening, the depth behind it and the window clearance before you order. A firm baffle, a foam seal to the panel and damping on the door skin all help a 6.5-inch speaker, and our sound damping guide shows where the material goes. Recoil publishes no frequency response, so set the high-pass filter with care; our DSP set-up guide covers crossovers.
Disconnect the battery before you touch the wiring and test each speaker before the trim goes back on; our installation etiquette guide covers that routine. VA3 Car Studio offers professional installation in Ghaziabad, builds door baffles and speaker pods, and offers DSP tuning.
Price and where to buy
The Recoil RCX65 has an India MRP of ₹6,000. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's price on the RCX65 product page. Our listing calls it a genuine Recoil product. Recoil's warranty page is written for the US and covers the original purchaser with a receipt from an authorised dealer, so confirm with Recoil or its distributor what applies to stock sold in India.

The bottom line
The RCX65 is a plain 6.5-inch coaxial with a 100 W RMS pair rating and more fitting data than the other Echo coaxials we list, though that data still needs interpreting and the electrical specifications are thin. It suits a buyer with 6.5-inch openings who wants a simple swap and will run it at or below 50 W RMS per speaker. Look elsewhere if you want separate tweeters, if you need impedance, sensitivity and frequency response in writing before you buy, or if your car has 5.25-inch or 6x9 openings.
Recoil RCX65 FAQ
What is the Recoil RCX65's RMS power?
It is rated 100 W RMS for the pair, about 50 W per speaker if shared equally. The 200 W figure is peak, not RMS, and should not be used to size an amplifier.
How deep is the Recoil RCX65?
Recoil lists a mounting depth of 64 mm / 71 mm without saying what the two values mean. Plan for 71 mm (2.79 in) of clear space behind the panel and check the window clearance.
Is the RCX65 a coaxial or a component speaker?
It is a coaxial, with the PEI dome tweeter and its crossover built in, so each speaker takes one pair of wires. The REM65 is the separate component set.
Does the Recoil RCX65 need an amplifier?
Recoil publishes no sensitivity, so we cannot say how loud it plays from a head unit. An amplifier giving about 50 W RMS per channel matches the rating, and the one maker-hosted review we found drove each speaker at 50 W RMS.
