AudioControl PNW-65 Review: Specifications, Fitment and Comparisons
Quick summary: the buying decision
The PNW-65 is a pair of 6.5-inch coaxial speakers rated at 75 W RMS / 100 W max and 3 ohm. A coaxial puts the tweeter on the woofer's axis, so it fits a factory opening and is the simplest upgrade over stock speakers; check the 60 mm (2.36 in) mounting depth and 142 mm (5.59 in) cut-out against your doors before ordering.
AudioControl PNW-65: what it is
The AudioControl PNW-65 is a pair of 6.5-inch PNW Series coaxial speakers rated at 75 W RMS (100 W max) and 3 ohm. A concentric point-source design with a rear-dampened hybrid silk dome tweeter gives a seamless transition from midrange to treble.
AudioControl's PNW Series are 3-ohm high-fidelity speakers with rear-dampened hybrid silk dome tweeters, mica-coated cones, edge-enhanced steel frames, black anodised voice coil formers and FEA-designed high-efficiency motors. A 3-ohm load draws a little more power from an amplifier than a 4-ohm load, which helps output from the same amplifier.

Key features
Concentric point-source design for a seamless transition from midrange to tweeter
Rear-dampened hybrid silk dome tweeter, with a sonic diffuser and radiant collar for better off-axis response
Rigid poly mica-coated cone with a linear double-roll surround
Edge-enhanced steel frame, black anodised voice coil former and FEA-designed high-efficiency motor
Supplied with grilles and high-quality mounting hardware

Fitment: will it fit your car?
Measure the factory opening and the depth available behind it, including clearance to the window glass and its channel at full travel. The PNW-65 needs 60 mm (2.36 in) of mounting depth and a 142 mm (5.59 in) cut-out. Spacers or adapter rings are often needed in many cars, and a solid, sealed baffle with door damping makes more difference to midbass than the speaker change alone.
Crossover, filtering and placement
The tweeter is protected by a built-in Butterworth high-pass at 5,250 Hz (6 dB/octave).
Aim for a high-pass around 60 to 80 Hz if your head unit or amplifier allows it: removing deep bass lets the speakers play louder and cleaner, and a subwoofer can fill in below.
Amplification
At 75 W RMS (100 W max) and 3 ohm, they suit an amplifier that is stable at 2 ohm, such as AudioControl's A600.4; keep the gain within the speakers' rating.

Price and value in India
At the time of writing (October 2026), VA3 Car Studio lists the PNW-65 at ₹38,240, 15% below the MRP of ₹44,990. Coaxials are the simplest speaker upgrade; budget a little extra for adapters and door damping, which often matter as much as the speakers. Prices can change, so the product page always shows the current price.
Verdict: who should shortlist the PNW-65
The PNW-65 is a high-fidelity coaxial for listeners who want better clarity from factory openings without the work of mounting separate tweeters.
