Deaf Bonce SA302 Review: 2,000 W From a 12-Inch, and What It Takes to Feed It

Updated: Oct 6

The Deaf Bonce SA302 is the most powerful SA-series subwoofer we sell: a 12-inch Apocalypse driver rated at 2,000 W RMS (4,000 W max), with a 3-inch CCAW voice coil, 18 mm of Xmax and a choice of dual 1-ohm (D1) or dual 2-ohm (D2) coils. Its India MRP is ₹59,990, above the SA272 and roughly half the price of the 2,800 W 3012R. It suits a buyer who wants one very loud 12-inch and is prepared to treat the amplifier, battery and wiring as part of the purchase. Pick your version on our Deaf Bonce SA302 product page.

Deaf Bonce SA302 12-inch Apocalypse subwoofer

In brief

  • 2,000 W RMS from a 12-inch cone, on a 3-inch coil with 18 mm of Xmax (36 mm mechanical).

  • One D2 wired to 1 ohm lines up exactly with the Atom 2000.1 PRO's 2,000 W rating into 1 ohm.

  • The smallest Vas of the three SA-series 12-inch models we sell, though Deaf Bonce's product page gives no box volume.

  • Full output means almost 140 A from the electrical system, so plan the charging and wiring first.

These match the D1 and D2 figures on Deaf Bonce's official SA302 D1/D2 page, checked in October 2026.

A low-Vas 12 with a 2 kW rating

Three numbers set the SA302 apart from the other SA-series 12-inch models we sell, the SA252 and SA272. Its Vas of 21.0 litres (D1) or 24.0 litres (D2) is the smallest of the three; for a given alignment, a smaller Vas generally means a smaller box. Its Fs of about 35 Hz is the highest of the three, and the D1's Qts of 0.30 is the lowest, the kind of figure rule-of-thumb guides tie to ported enclosures.

Deaf Bonce's product page doesn't give a recommended box, so model one from those figures for the coil version you buy. Allow for the driver's displacement and a large port, use thick board with bracing, and leave 179.5 mm of clear depth behind the baffle. A 2,000 W driver will find any weakness in a box that flexes.

Wiring and the exact Atom match

The D2 gives 1 ohm with its coils in parallel or 4 ohms in series; the D1 gives 2 ohms in series or 0.5 ohms in parallel. Deaf Bonce rates every Atom amplifier we sell down to 1 ohm and no lower, which rules out the D1's 0.5-ohm option with them.

For one sub, the cleanest match is a D2 wired to 1 ohm on the Atom 2000.1 PRO, which Deaf Bonce rates at 2,000 W into 1 ohm at 14.4 V. A D1 wired to 2 ohms pairs with the Atom 3.5K PRO at 2,200 W into 2 ohms, slightly above the sub's rating, so set the gain carefully. For two SA302 D2s, each in series and the pair in parallel for 2 ohms, the Atom 7.5K PRO is rated at 4,150 W into 2 ohms.

What 2,000 W asks of an Indian car's electrics

The arithmetic is simple and unforgiving: 2,000 W divided by 14.4 V is almost 140 A, and that's before the amplifier's own losses. Check your alternator's rated output, which is on its label or in the service manual, and the age of the battery before buying the sub. Many builds at this level add the Big 3 cable upgrade, a high-output alternator, a second battery, or a combination of these.

Voltage affects output directly. Deaf Bonce rates the Atom 2000.1 PRO at 1,810 W into 1 ohm at 12 V, against 2,000 W at 14.4 V, and a sagging system at idle with the AC running will cost you some of that. Fuse the main feed close to the battery, and keep the earth short and bolted to bare metal.

What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce SA302

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews or independent tests of the SA302 that we could read. Deaf Bonce's page lists specifications only, our own store page has no customer reviews yet, and the large retailer and forum sites we tried were blocked to automated access or showed nothing relevant. We won't invent a verdict to fill the space.

If you run an SA302, tell us about the box, amplifier and electrical work in your car; verified owner feedback will be added here.

Where it sits: SA272 below, 3012R above

The SA272 (₹49,990) shares the SA302's 179.5 mm depth, 279.3 mm cut-out and 18 mm Xmax, so the SA302 adds a 3-inch coil in place of 2.75 inches and 500 W of rating for ₹10,000 more. The two have different Vas and Qts, though, so a box designed for one isn't automatically right for the other.

The 3012R (₹1,19,990) is the next step: 2,800 W, 19 mm of Xmax and, in our listing, a dual 2-ohm coil. It is much deeper at 224.0 mm and needs a 284.0 mm cut-out, so an SA302 baffle won't take it without being enlarged.

Buy it if, skip it if

Buy the SA302 if you want the most rated power we offer from an SA-series 12-inch, you can budget for an amplifier around 2,000 W at your chosen load, and you're willing to upgrade the charging system if it needs it.

Skip it if the car will run on an untouched stock electrical system, if a 1,500 W amplifier is your limit (the SA272 suits that better), or if you want bass for daily listening rather than a high-output build.

Installation notes for Indian cars

Bolt both the box and the amplifier to structural points; at 16.40 kg packed the driver alone is heavy before the box is added. Route the main power cable away from fuel and brake lines, through grommets, and keep the amplifier ventilated in a boot that heats up quickly in summer.

At this output the boot lid, number plate and rear parcel shelf will buzz unless they're treated; our sound damping guide explains where to start. Protect your hearing, too: keep the volume sensible on long drives. VA3 Car Studio offers professional installation in Ghaziabad and can build a custom enclosure to your modelled volume.

Price and where to buy

The Deaf Bonce SA302 carries an MRP of ₹59,990, with D1 and D2 versions on one listing. We often sell below MRP; check the current offer on our SA302 store listing.

Deaf Bonce SA302 - another view

Our take

The SA302 offers 2,000 W in a 12-inch frame that fits the same hole and depth as the SA272, with an Atom amplifier whose published 1-ohm rating matches the sub's exactly. The catch is everything around it: almost 140 A of current at full output, a box you must design yourself, and no owner track record we could find. Budget for the electrics first and the SA302 makes sense.

Deaf Bonce SA302 FAQ

What amplifier does the Deaf Bonce SA302 need?

About 2,000 W RMS at the load you wire. The Atom 2000.1 PRO is rated at 2,000 W into 1 ohm, which suits a D2 with its coils in parallel. For a D1 wired in series to 2 ohms, the Atom 3.5K PRO is rated at 2,200 W into 2 ohms.

Can an SA302 replace an SA272 in the same box?

It fits the same 279.3 mm cut-out and 179.5 mm depth, but its Vas of 21.0 to 24.0 litres is smaller than the SA272's, and its Qts and Fs differ too. Model the existing box with the SA302's figures before reusing it.

Do I need electrical upgrades for an SA302?

Usually, yes. At 14.4 V, 2,000 W corresponds to almost 140 A before amplifier losses. Check your alternator's rated output and battery health first; many builds at this level add the Big 3 upgrade, a high-output alternator or a second battery.
