DS18 G3600.1D Review: 1,200 W RMS at 1 Ω From a Small Class D Monoblock
The DS18 G3600.1D is a Class D monoblock subwoofer amplifier from DS18's GEN-X (G Series) range, listed at 1,200 W RMS at 1 Ω, 900 W RMS at 2 Ω and 500 W RMS at 4 Ω. The 3,600 W figure DS18 also prints is a peak number, not RMS, and our listing gives the RMS ratings at 14.4 V, a voltage DS18's own page and manual do not state. Its India MRP is ₹39,990, and it suits one subwoofer or a pair whose combined load lands between 1 Ω and 4 Ω. You can see it on our DS18 G3600.1D product page.

Quick summary
RMS as listed is 1,200 W at 1 Ω, 900 W at 2 Ω and 500 W at 4 Ω. The 3,600 W figure is peak, three times the 1 Ω rating, and only our listing gives a 14.4 V basis.
DS18 lists a high-level input, low-level inputs of 0.25 V to 6 V and a remote bass knob.
It measures 305 x 120 x 50 mm, weighs 2 kg gross and lists no cooling fan.
DS18's own shop counts ten reviews and displays five, all positive; the other five could not be read.

Figures come from DS18's G3600.1D page and its GEN-X G-series manual. Our listing adds a 14.4 V basis, a 9 V – 15 V range and an 8 GA output that we could not find on DS18's page or in its manual, so confirm them on the unit.
Three loads, one peak figure, and a voltage DS18 does not state
The rating is 500 W at 4 Ω, 900 W at 2 Ω and 1,200 W at 1 Ω, so the headline number belongs to the lowest load. DS18's social-media description of the page ties the 3,600 W peak figure to 1 Ω.
Our listing says the three RMS ratings are at 14.4 V and that the amplifier is 1 to 4 Ω stable. DS18's page and manual give no supply voltage for any rating, so we repeat 14.4 V only because our listing does. Work out your subwoofer wiring's final impedance and read that line; DS18's wiring diagrams are images we could not read, so ask your installer to confirm the connections.
Filters, boost and inputs
DS18 lists a fixed low-pass filter with a 35 Hz – 250 Hz range, a 10 Hz – 50 Hz subsonic filter and bass boost of up to 12 dB at a fixed 45 Hz. The page's description text mentions adjustable high-pass, low-pass and full-range controls and a 2-4ch input that the spec table does not show, so check the panel before planning around either version.
Of the three DS18 monoblocks compared below, the G3600.1D is the only one for which DS18 lists a high-level input. The manual says to use that connection if the source has no RCA outputs and never to use the high and low-level inputs together.
Size, heat and wiring
At 305 x 120 x 50 mm and 2 kg gross, it is the shortest and lightest of the three monoblocks compared below. The manual asks for a dry spot with good air circulation, not under seats or in the engine bay, and an in-line fuse or breaker within 18 inches (about 46 cm) of the battery, fitted last. DS18's page and our listing give a 120 A fuse rating; the manual's table prints that cell as 2 X 40 A External 120A, so have your installer confirm the fusing.
What owners and reviewers say about the DS18 G3600.1D
When we checked in October 2026, the only owner feedback we read was on DS18's own web shop; we have not read independent tests or forum threads. The shop's G3600.1D page counts ten reviews, though only five display, and all five we could read are positive. One drives two DS18 10-inch subwoofers with clean bass, and another runs a single DS18 EXL12HE in a 1 cubic foot (about 28 litres) sealed enclosure and says it still hits hard. The others call it a good purchase with plenty of power, report strong power and a clean signal with DS18 ZR subwoofers, or say it solved a shortage of space.
The page's rating bars are not all at one level, so the five we could not read may include lower ratings; treat the five as a favourable sample.
G3600.1D against the FRP-8K/TI and SMD-5000.1D
The DS18 FRP-8K/TI (₹1,49,990 MRP, ₹1,10,000 more) is a Class D monoblock rated 2,500 W RMS at 4 Ω, 5,000 W at 2 Ω and 8,000 W at 1 Ω, with a 9,000 W burst figure that is not RMS. It is 403 mm long and 5 kg gross against 305 mm and 2 kg, and DS18 lists no high-level input for it.
The DS18 SMD-5000.1D (₹2,99,990 MRP, ₹2,60,000 more) is rated 5,000 W RMS at 1 Ω, 3,500 W at 2 Ω and 2,000 W at 4 Ω, and DS18 ties those figures to 14.4 V, which it does not do for the G3600.1D or the FRP-8K/TI. It is 462 mm long and 6.8 kg gross, adds a voltmeter and dual fans, and DS18 lists no high-level input for it. Read the gaps in watts as spec-sheet gaps only.
For door speakers instead, see our review of the DS18 G1000.4D, a four-channel amplifier from the same G series.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the G3600.1D if your subwoofer or pair ends up between 1 Ω and 4 Ω, you want a high-level input option, and you want the smallest of these three monoblocks. If you are weighing an amplifier against a head-unit-powered setup, our guide to the need for an amplifier covers the basics.
Look elsewhere if you want more than 1,200 W RMS at 1 Ω (the FRP-8K/TI lists 8,000 W and the SMD-5000.1D 5,000 W), or want DS18 to state a supply voltage for the ratings, which it does not for this model.

The bottom line
The G3600.1D is a Class D monoblock with RMS ratings of 500 W, 900 W and 1,200 W by load, and a 3,600 W peak figure that is none of them. Check the unstated supply voltage and the mixed filter and fuse details on the unit, and decide the load first.
DS18 G3600.1D FAQ
Is the DS18 G3600.1D a 3,600 W amplifier?
No. DS18 prints 3,600 W as a peak figure. The RMS ratings are 500 W at 4 Ω, 900 W at 2 Ω and 1,200 W at 1 Ω, and our listing gives them at 14.4 V.
What voltage are the G3600.1D's RMS ratings at?
Our listing says 14.4 V, but DS18's page and manual state no supply voltage for any rating, so we could not confirm it from DS18's documents.
Does the G3600.1D have a high-level input?
DS18 lists one, alongside low-level inputs of 0.25 V to 6 V. Its manual says to use the high-level connection if the source has no RCA outputs, and never together with the low-level inputs.
