Morel Thar Enclosure Review: Kinetic KS104 Bass, and Getting the Right Thar Box
The Morel Thar Enclosure is a vehicle-specific subwoofer enclosure made to fit the Mahindra Thar, supplied loaded with Morel's 10-inch Kinetic KS104. Our listing rates that driver at 300 W RMS (600 W peak) into 4 ohms, with 88 dB sensitivity and a listed response of 32 Hz to 900 Hz, and credits the enclosure to the Morel India 2026 catalogue. At ₹33,990 MRP it sits ₹3,500 below JL Audio's Thar Stealthbox. It suits a Thar owner who wants a named Morel driver in a box made for the car. Our store also lists a separate Morel enclosure for the five-door Thar Roxx, so it pays to be sure which one you need. Today's price is on our Thar enclosure product page.

Key takeaways
Our listing names the vehicle as the Mahindra Thar, and a separate Morel box is listed for the Thar Roxx, so confirm your model and year.
Loaded with the KS104 10-inch: 4 ohms, 300 W RMS, 600 W peak and 88 dB at 2.83 V and 1 metre.
The box's volume, type, dimensions and mounting aren't listed.
No owner reviews yet. JL's Thar Stealthbox is ₹3,500 dearer at MRP, and our listing doesn't name its driver.

The table follows our store listing, which in turn follows Morel India's 2026 catalogue. Morel's own site gave an error when we tried it in October 2026, so nothing here has been checked against a Morel product page.
Thar or Thar Roxx: which box?
Mahindra now sells two Thar body styles. Its website lists the three-door model as the THAR OG and the five-door as the THAR ROXX. Our store lists separate Morel enclosures for the Thar and the Thar Roxx, and this one names only the Mahindra Thar, so if you drive the five-door, look at the Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure instead.
The listing also asks buyers to check fitment for their model year, which matters if your Thar is an older one or you're unsure exactly which version you have. Ask us to check fitment before you order, and make the box's size and mounting part of that conversation, since the listing gives neither.
Inside the box: what the KS104's figures mean
The KS104's 300 W RMS is its continuous rating, the number to match an amplifier against. The 600 W figure is a 10-millisecond peak, a measure of how it copes with brief bursts, not a target. Sensitivity of 88 dB at 2.83 V and 1 metre tells you how loud it plays for a given voltage; every extra 3 dB of output needs roughly double the amplifier power, so sensitivity matters most when power is limited. The 32 Hz figure is a listed response, not a promise of in-car output, which depends on the box and the cabin.
Judge any amplifier on its 4-ohm output, because the KS104 is a 4-ohm load; something near 300 W RMS is the target. Our reviews of the Morel MPS 1.550 and MPD 1.500 cover two Morel monoblocks, and our Morel Kinetic KS104 review goes further into the driver. A sub also exposes weak front speakers, so if your doors can't keep up, VA3 Car Studio builds speaker pods and door baffles and does DSP tuning to blend the two.
What owners and reviewers say about the Morel Thar Enclosure
When we checked in October 2026, no owner reviews, forum posts or press tests of this enclosure turned up, and Morel's site wasn't reachable.
The nearest published material concerns a different setup. In February 2023, EVO India featured a Thar with a fully custom system: an Alpine head unit, Morel speakers in custom-made pods, three Audiotec Fischer amplifiers under the seats, a DSP controller and a 10-inch JL Audio subwoofer in the boot. The writer praised how balanced it sounded, with bass that didn't swamp vocals. It's a one-off build with a JL sub, so it says nothing about this Morel box, but it shows a 10-inch sub working as part of a complete, DSP-controlled system in a Thar. If you've fitted the Morel Thar Enclosure, tell us how it went.
Morel Thar Enclosure vs JL Thar Stealthbox
JL Audio's Mahindra Thar Stealthbox lists at ₹37,490. Our JL Thar Stealthbox listing describes a weatherproof custom fibreglass enclosure for the Thar but doesn't name the JL driver or its ratings. The Morel listing does the reverse, naming the driver and its ratings but not the box's construction. With no owner reviews of either to separate them, the choice comes down to the ₹3,500 difference at MRP, brand preference and what a fitment check shows for your Thar.
A custom-built box is the other route. VA3 Car Studio builds custom subwoofer enclosures, so the driver and the shape are up to you; the 12-inch Morel Kinetic KS124, for example, is also sold as a bare driver.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy it if your Thar passes the fitment check, you want Morel's KS104 rather than an unnamed driver, and you prefer a ready-made box to a custom one.
Look elsewhere if you drive the Roxx, you want a bigger driver or a fully custom layout, or you need owner feedback before buying.
Installation notes for the Thar
An off-roader's audio has to survive dust, water and vibration. Seal every cable entry with a grommet, keep connections off the floor, and fix the box and the amplifier with bolts rather than adhesive strips, because rough tracks will find any weakness.
Run the amplifier's power cable away from the factory loom and fuse it close to the battery, and check the amplifier has airflow, since a closed cabin standing in the sun gets very hot. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.
Price and where to buy
The Morel Thar Enclosure's MRP is ₹33,990, with the KS104 fitted. We often sell below that figure; see the Thar enclosure listing for today's price. It is a genuine Morel product.

The bottom line
The Morel Thar Enclosure pairs a fully specified Morel 10-inch with a box whose details our listing leaves out. Make sure you're buying the Thar version rather than the Roxx one, have the fitment checked for your year, and budget for a 4-ohm amplifier around 300 W RMS. Until owners report back, judge it on those published numbers.
Morel Thar Enclosure FAQ
Does the Morel Thar Enclosure fit the Thar Roxx?
Our store lists a separate Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure for the five-door model, while this listing names the Mahindra Thar. Ask us to check fitment for your exact model and year before ordering.
What is the subwoofer inside?
A 10-inch (263 mm) Morel Kinetic KS104 with a 4-ohm load, rated at 300 W RMS and 600 W peak, with 88 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V and 1 metre.
How much amplifier power does it need?
Aim for roughly 300 W RMS into 4 ohms, the KS104's continuous rating. The 600 W peak figure describes short bursts and isn't a target for amplifier power.
