Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure Review: Kinetic Bass for Mahindra's Five-Door Thar

Oct 7
5 min read

The Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure is a vehicle-specific subwoofer enclosure made to fit the Mahindra Thar Roxx, the five-door Thar, and it arrives loaded with Morel's 10-inch Kinetic KS104. Our listing gives the driver's ratings as 300 W RMS and 600 W peak into 4 ohms, with 88 dB sensitivity, and credits the product to the Morel India 2026 catalogue; the MRP is ₹33,990. We don't list a JL Stealthbox for the Roxx, so this is the vehicle-specific sub box we sell for it. It suits a Roxx owner who wants a box made for the car rather than a generic one, and who is planning a proper amplifier. Details are on our Thar Roxx enclosure product page.

Key takeaways

  • Made to fit the five-door Mahindra Thar Roxx and loaded with the KS104: 4 ohms, 300 W RMS (600 W peak), 88 dB.

  • It's the vehicle-specific sub box we list for the Roxx; our JL Stealthbox range doesn't include one.

  • Our listing gives no box volume, type, size or mounting details, so a fitment check comes first.

  • Plan the amplifier with the rest of the system: one five-channel amplifier or a separate monoblock both work on paper.

Every figure above is from our store listing, sourced from Morel India's 2026 catalogue. When we tried Morel's website in October 2026 it returned an error, so we couldn't compare them with a Morel page.

What the listing tells you, and what it doesn't

Our listing names the Mahindra Thar Roxx, which Mahindra's site describes as a five-door, and our store carries a separate Morel box for the Thar, which Mahindra now sells in three-door form as the THAR OG. That makes it easy to pick the right listing, though this one still asks you to check fitment for your model year.

The enclosure itself is undocumented on our listing: no internal volume, no sealed-or-ported description, no dimensions and no mounting details. Ask us to check fitment before you commit, and include the box's position in that check, because it decides how much of the boot you keep.

Planning the system around it

There are two sensible ways to power the KS104. The first is a single five-channel amplifier: Morel's MPD 5.550 lists four 75 W channels for the door speakers and a 250 W RMS sub channel into 4 ohms, inside the KS104's 300 W RMS rating. The second is a separate monoblock of around 300 W RMS into 4 ohms alongside a four-channel amplifier for the speakers, which means two chassis to mount but matches the sub's rating more closely.

Either way, the signal has to come from somewhere. A factory head unit can feed an amplifier's speaker-level inputs, or a converter such as the JL Audio LoC22, which our listing describes as a two-channel speaker-to-line converter with auto turn-on. A DSP in the chain makes the crossover and level far easier to get right, and VA3 Car Studio offers DSP tuning.

What owners and reviewers say about the Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure

We looked in October 2026 and found nothing: no owner reviews, no forum threads and no press coverage of this enclosure, and Morel's website wasn't reachable. The driver doesn't help either, since the UK listing for the bare Kinetic 10 at Thomas Performance had no customer reviews. Nor did we find a related owner write-up for the Roxx worth pointing you to.

So there's no verdict to pass on. If you've fitted one, details of how it sounds, how much boot it takes and how it's fixed would help the next buyer, and we'd like to hear from you.

Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure vs other ways to add bass

With no JL alternative for the Roxx in our store, the comparison is with other routes. The Morel KS124 + Enclosure puts the 12-inch Kinetic KS124 in a generic Morel box for ₹16,990 MRP, roughly half this enclosure's MRP, but our listing doesn't give that box's size either, and it isn't made for the Roxx.

Morel's PSL10AE is a 10-inch active enclosure with a built-in 350 W amplifier and listed dimensions of 165 x 338 x 460 mm, at ₹49,990 MRP: more money, but no separate amplifier to buy and fit. VA3 Car Studio also builds custom subwoofer enclosures if you want a box shaped to your Roxx with a driver of your choice. The Morel Thar Enclosure, meanwhile, is listed for the Thar rather than the Roxx.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy it if you drive a Roxx, you want a box listed specifically for it, and you're happy to plan an amplifier and signal path around it.

Look elsewhere if you'd rather not buy an amplifier separately (the PSL10AE has one built in), you want to see box dimensions first, or you'd prefer something with owner feedback behind it.

Installation notes for the Thar Roxx

A vehicle-specific box still needs secure fixing, because on rough roads and speed breakers an unsecured box shifts and rattles. Use proper fixings, run the speaker and power cables under the trim, and fuse the power cable close to the battery terminal.

Indian summers are hard on amplifiers. If yours goes under a seat or behind a panel, leave a gap for air around it. Professional installation is available at VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad.

Price and where to buy

Our Thar Roxx enclosure listing shows today's price, which is often below the ₹33,990 MRP. That MRP covers the genuine Morel box with the KS104 already in place.

The bottom line

For Roxx owners, the Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure is the straightforward vehicle-specific choice in our range: a named 10-inch Kinetic driver with clear ratings, in a box our listing doesn't describe. Get the fitment confirmed and plan a matched amplifier and a clean signal, knowing that you're buying ahead of any owner feedback.

Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure FAQ

Is the Morel Thar Roxx Enclosure the same as the Thar enclosure?

No. Our store lists them separately: this one names the five-door Mahindra Thar Roxx, the other names the Mahindra Thar. Both carry the KS104 and share the ₹33,990 MRP, so on our listings the difference is the vehicle named.

Which subwoofer comes in it?

The 10-inch KS104 from Morel's Kinetic line: 263 mm across and 4 ohms, rated by our listing at 300 W RMS with 600 W peaks and 88 dB sensitivity.

Can one amplifier run the sub and my speakers?

Yes. A five-channel amplifier such as Morel's MPD 5.550 lists 250 W RMS into 4 ohms on its sub channel, within the KS104's 300 W RMS rating, plus four 75 W channels for the speakers.
