Recoil DII5000.1 Review: Class D Mono Amplifier, 5,200 W at 1 Ohm

6 min read

The Recoil DII5000.1 is the larger of the two DII mono amplifiers we list. Recoil's page gives 5,200 W at 1 Ω, 3,180 W at 2 Ω and 1,800 W at 4 Ω at 14.4 V, without an RMS label, and publishes a 350 A fuse rating and a 2,200 mA idling current. The Indian MRP is ₹60,000; see our Recoil DII5000.1 product page.

Recoil DII5000.1 Class D mono car amplifier

Key takeaways

  • Recoil's table prints 5,200 W at 1 Ω, 3,180 W at 2 Ω and 1,800 W at 4 Ω, tagged 14.4 V, with no RMS, max or peak label.

  • Only Recoil's US web store page uses the word RMS, and it attaches it to a different 1 Ω figure of 5,100 W.

  • A 350 A fuse rating and 2,200 mA idling current make the car's electrical system the first job.

  • We found no independent owner review.

Figures come from Recoil's DII5000.1 page and our store listing. Recoil's promotional US web store page prints different power, filter and noise values, covered below. Recoil's general warranty page describes US terms and does not name this amplifier.

Three power figures for one amplifier

The name says 5000 W, Recoil's table says 5,200 W at 1 Ω, and the US web store page says 5,100 W RMS at 1 Ω with 3,100 W at 2 Ω and 1,800 W at 4 Ω. Our listing also carries a line headed RMS power that repeats the US page's 5,100, 3,100 and 1,800 W. Recoil itself labels only that US-page 1 Ω figure RMS, and its two pages disagree, so we quote the recoilaudio.com table as rated output at 14.4 V and do not call it RMS.

When you check a subwoofer's power handling, plan around the higher figures, because an underrated subwoofer is the risk. The 1 Ω row applies only at a 1 Ω load and, as rated, only while the supply holds 14.4 V; at 2 Ω the table gives 3,180 W and at 4 Ω 1,800 W.

Electrical groundwork and installation in Indian cars

Start with the supply. Recoil's table lists a 350 A fuse rating, 2,200 mA of idling current with the amplifier on, and a 9 V – 16 V operating range, with power rated at 14.4 V. It does not say how the 350 A is split between the amplifier's own fuses and the fuse near the battery, and it gives no cable gauge, so take the fusing layout and cable size from the manual. An amplifier at this level asks a lot of the battery, alternator and earth point, especially in stop-start traffic with the AC running.

The idling figure is 2.2 A before any music plays, so make sure the amplifier switches off with the ignition. The case measures 301 x 180 x 70 mm, so measure the boot floor or under-seat space before you order, and check height as well as length, because 70 mm is more than some under-seat gaps allow. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, custom subwoofer boxes and DSP tuning.

Filters, bass remote and inputs

Recoil's table lists a 48 Hz – 275 Hz low-pass filter, a 10 Hz – 53 Hz high-pass filter, 0 – 16 dB of bass boost and a bass remote, and marks the separate subsonic filter as N/A. The low 10 Hz – 53 Hz high-pass setting can do the subsonic job on a ported box. Inputs are 1.2 V – 13 V at low level and 0.2 V – 3.3 V at high level, and our listing adds REM, VOX or DC turn-on and RCA pass-through outputs. Recoil also lists clip indication at 1%, a useful cue when you set the gain, though it does not replace matching the subwoofer's rating.

The US page prints a 0 – 12 dB bass boost, a 40 Hz – 250 Hz low-pass range, a 10 Hz – 50 Hz high-pass range, a 90 dB signal-to-noise ratio and narrower input ranges, and says a bass remote is included. We follow the recoilaudio.com table, so confirm the filter ranges in the manual when you set the amplifier up.

What owners and reviewers say about the Recoil DII5000.1

When we checked in October 2026, we could not find or open an independent review, forum thread or retailer review page for the DII5000.1. Recoil's page shows "Reviews (0)" and says there are no reviews yet, and the US web store page shows no ratings. Sites that block automated reading may hold reviews we missed, so read this as a gap in our research, not a verdict.

If you run this amplifier, tell us what supply upgrades it needed and how the gain and turn-on settings behaved. Owner notes on heat and idle current in Indian traffic would be especially useful.

DII5000.1 vs DII3300.1 and SPL6500.1

The Recoil DII3300.1 (₹45,000 MRP) is ₹15,000 lower at MRP and 70 mm shorter at 231 mm. Its page labels 3,300 W, 2,000 W and 1,000 W at 1, 2 and 4 Ω as RMS, so if you want ratings labelled on the page, it is the one that has them.

The Recoil SPL6500.1 (₹1,40,000 MRP) has a recoilaudio.com table that lists 6,500 W at 1 Ω at 14.4 V, again with no RMS label, in a case 724 mm long. That is ₹80,000 above the DII5000.1 at MRP and 423 mm longer.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the DII5000.1 if your subwoofers can handle the 2 Ω or 1 Ω rows, you will sort out the electrical system first, and you are content to size the build from unlabelled ratings plus the manual.

Look elsewhere if you want a power label on the page, space is tight, or your battery and charging system have not been checked. Our guide on whether you need an amplifier in your car covers the basics first.

Price and where to buy

The DII5000.1's MRP in India is ₹60,000. We often sell below MRP, so check today's offer on the DII5000.1 product page. It is a genuine Recoil product; ask us which warranty terms apply in India before you order.

The bottom line

The DII5000.1 is a large mono amplifier whose published fuse rating and idling current put the electrical groundwork first. Recoil's two pages disagree on its power figures, so treat 5,200 W at 1 Ω as the table's rated output, not as RMS, and confirm the rest in the manual.

Recoil DII5000.1 FAQ

Is the Recoil DII5000.1 rated in RMS?

Not on Recoil's own table, which prints 5,200 W at 1 Ω, 3,180 W at 2 Ω and 1,800 W at 4 Ω at 14.4 V with no label. Recoil's US web store page attaches RMS to a 5,100 W figure at 1 Ω, so the pages disagree and we do not call the table's figures RMS.

What fuse does the DII5000.1 need?

Recoil's table gives a 350 A fuse rating but does not say how it is split between the amplifier's own fuses and the fuse near the battery. Take the fusing layout and cable size from the manual, or ask us to plan the supply side of the install.

How much current does the DII5000.1 draw at idle?

Recoil's table lists an idling current of 2,200 mA with the amplifier powered on, which is 2.2 A before any music plays. Make sure it switches off with the ignition, because a powered-on amplifier will drain the battery over time.
