Recoil SPL6500.1 Review: Black Myth Mono Amplifier, 6,500 W at 1 Ohm
The Recoil SPL6500.1 is a Class D mono amplifier from Recoil's Black Myth series. Recoil's table lists 6,500 W at 1 Ω, 4,000 W at 2 Ω and 2,150 W at 4 Ω at 14.4 V, without an RMS label, in a case 724 mm long. The Indian MRP is ₹1,40,000, the highest of any Recoil amplifier we list; see our Recoil SPL6500.1 product page.

Key takeaways
The recoilaudio.com table lists 6,500, 4,000 and 2,150 W at 1, 2 and 4 Ω, tagged 14.4 V, with no RMS, max or peak label. The US page puts RMS on the 1 Ω figure only.
A 724 mm case, a 400 A fuse rating and 5,100 mA of idling current mean the car comes first.
"Competition-grade" and "a serious option for SPL builds" are Recoil's US-page words, not ours.
We found no independent owner review.

Figures come from Recoil's SPL6500.1 page and our store listing. Recoil's promotional US web store page adds the competition wording, a remote bass boost and the RMS label on the 1 Ω figure. Our listing also has a line headed RMS power giving 3,800 W at 2 Ω and 2,100 W at 4 Ω. Neither Recoil page gives those two figures, so we have not used them. Recoil's general warranty page describes US terms and does not name this amplifier.
Reading the SPL6500.1's power figures
Recoil's two pages agree on the numbers but not on the label. The recoilaudio.com table tags 6,500, 4,000 and 2,150 W with 14.4 V and nothing else, while the US page attaches RMS to the 1 Ω figure only and gives no test voltage. We therefore quote all three as rated output at 14.4 V and do not call them RMS.
The US page calls the amplifier "competition-grade". That is promotional wording we cannot confirm. What the table does show is that the 6,500 W headline belongs to a 1 Ω load, the 4,000 W row needs 2 Ω and the 2,150 W row needs 4 Ω, so your subwoofer wiring decides which number you actually get.
Strapped mode and what Recoil does not publish
Recoil's pages describe a strapped mode that bridges two SPL6500.1 amplifiers. Neither page gives an output figure, wiring diagram or impedance for it, and the table marks the bridged rows N/A, so we cannot advise on strapping. Read the manual first. We also found no weight for this amplifier.
Filters, bass remote and inputs
The table lists a 32 Hz – 249 Hz low-pass filter and an 11 Hz – 50 Hz subsonic filter, and marks the high-pass crossover N/A. Bass boost is N/A on the table, yet the US page describes a remote bass boost of up to 12 dB with a voltage display, so confirm in the manual what the remote controls. Clip indication is listed at 0.5%.
Low-level input sensitivity is 0.2 V – 7.4 V and high level is N/A, so plan on an RCA signal. If you are keeping a factory radio, ask us whether you need a line-output converter.
Electrical groundwork and fitting
Supply comes first. Recoil lists a 400 A fuse rating, 5,100 mA of idling current with the amplifier on and a 9 V – 16 V operating range, with power rated at 14.4 V. The idling figure is 5.1 A before any music plays, so check that the amplifier switches off with the ignition. Recoil does not explain how the 400 A is divided between internal fuses and the fuse near the battery, and it gives no cable gauge, so take both from the manual. Have the battery, alternator and earth path checked for stop-start traffic with the AC running.
At 724 x 235 x 67 mm the case is long enough that the mounting position decides the whole install. Measure the boot width and clearances first, leave clear air for the microprocessor-controlled fans mentioned on the US page and in our listing, and expect to build a rack or enclosure around it. What owners and reviewers say about the Recoil SPL6500.1
We looked for independent reviews, owner threads and retailer review pages in October 2026 and found none we could open. Recoil's page shows "Reviews (0)" and its US web store page shows no ratings. Retailer and video sites that block automated reading may hold some, so we offer no verdict on how it behaves in use.
If you run one, tell us about your supply, fusing and subwoofer wiring. That would be the most useful gap-filler for the next reader.
SPL6500.1 vs DII5000.1 and SPL4200.4
The Recoil DII5000.1 (₹60,000 MRP) is ₹80,000 lower at MRP and 423 mm shorter at 301 mm. Its recoilaudio.com table lists 5,200 W at 1 Ω, 1,300 W below the SPL6500.1's 6,500 W, again with no label.
The Recoil SPL4200.4 (₹80,000 MRP) is the four-channel Black Myth amplifier we list, ₹60,000 lower and 200 mm shorter. Its table labels 1,050 W x 4 at 1 Ω as RMS, so it is the one with labelled ratings.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the SPL6500.1 if your build can use the 4,000 W or 6,500 W rows, you have the space for a 724 mm amplifier and a supply that can carry it, and you accept ratings without a label on Recoil's table.
Look elsewhere if you want RMS labelled on the page, in which case the SPL4200.4 or the DII3300.1 has it, or if your subwoofers are modest. Our guide on whether you need an amplifier in your car covers the basics first.
Price and where to buy
The SPL6500.1 carries an Indian MRP of ₹1,40,000. We often sell below MRP, so see the current offer on the SPL6500.1 product page. It is a genuine Recoil product; ask us which warranty terms apply in India before you order.
The bottom line
The SPL6500.1 is the largest Recoil amplifier we list in power rows, published length and MRP. Recoil's pages agree on its figures but not on the label, and say little about strapping, so confirm those in the manual and plan the car around the amplifier before you buy.
Recoil SPL6500.1 FAQ
Is the Recoil SPL6500.1 rated in RMS?
Not on Recoil's own table, which prints 6,500 W at 1 Ω, 4,000 W at 2 Ω and 2,150 W at 4 Ω at 14.4 V with no label. Its US web store page attaches RMS to the 1 Ω figure only, so we quote all three as rated output.
How long is the SPL6500.1?
The case measures 724 x 235 x 67 mm, which is 200 mm longer than the SPL4200.4 and 423 mm longer than the DII5000.1. Measure your boot before ordering, because the position will decide the whole install.
Can two SPL6500.1 amplifiers be strapped together?
Recoil's pages describe a strapped mode that bridges two units but give no output figure, wiring or impedance for it. Read the manual before planning it, and ask us before you buy a second amplifier.
