Reading the 160, 260 and 520 W ratings
At 4 Ω, the nominal impedance of many door speakers, each channel is rated at 160 W. Compare that with the speaker's continuous RMS handling rather than its peak rating. The 260 W figure applies when a channel sees 2 Ω, and Audison's 1040 W total is four channels at that rating added up.
Audison rates the bridged output at 520 W x 2 into 4 Ω, using channels 1 and 2 as one pair and channels 3 and 4 as the other, and lists 4 Ω as the minimum load for a bridged pair. A single 4 Ω subwoofer on a bridged pair therefore receives 520 W. Check that the subwoofer's continuous handling suits that figure, because the amplifier's rating is a ceiling, not a target.
Straight wire and the processor
Audison describes its AF D amplifiers as companions designed to add amplifier channels to AF bit amplifiers, with an input harness included for that connection. It also describes them as suited to systems managed by a standalone bit processor, such as the bit One HD Virtuoso, and says the straight-wire architecture has no analogue preamp functions such as crossover filtering. The AF Link accessory cable carries the DSP OUT outputs of an AF bit amplifier into the M4D's PRE IN inputs.
Audison's AF M1D page says that mono model is the only one in the AF D family that can also be used standalone, so plan the M4D with a processor or bit amplifier in front of it. Our Audison AF M1D review covers that model.
Audison's help-centre installation examples for the AF M6D include a layout titled AF M6D + AF M4D + bit DSP, for a three-way front, rear and sub. The diagrams were not readable to us, so we can only report the title. Our guide to DSP in car audio explains why a processor is part of this kind of plan, and VA3 Car Studio offers DSP tuning.
Inputs, remote and turn-on
The M4D has pre-level inputs (0.6–6 V RMS) and speaker-level inputs (2.2–22 V RMS), with USS loading for the speaker-level side and ART automatic turn-on (listed at 1.5 V DC from the speaker outputs, selectable). Audison also lists a remote input (4–15 V), a remote output (6.5–15 V, 150 mA) and ±12 dB sub-volume control through the optional VCR-S2. With no filters on the amplifier, each speaker receives whatever the source sends, so any high-pass or low-pass filtering has to happen upstream. The box list covers remote, speaker-out, pre-in and speaker-in cables plus the Forza install kit.
What owners and reviewers say about the Audison AF M4D
When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews of the Audison AF M4D. OnlineCarStereo's AF M4D page shows no reviews and no star rating, and does not say whether reviews are moderated. Audison's own pages are promotional, so we have not counted them as opinions. Until owners report back, treat the ratings as the manufacturer's claims.
Audison AF M4D vs AF C4D, AF M6D, SR 4.500 and Zapco Z-150.4 II
The Audison AF C4D (₹69,990) is rated 90 W x 4 into 4 Ω, 150 W x 4 into 2 Ω and 300 W x 2 bridged, so the M4D is rated higher at each, for ₹30,000 more. The C4D has a single 30 A fuse and lists 25 A at maximum musical power, and it weighs 1.49 kg against the M4D's 2.04 kg. The Audison AF M6D has the same ₹99,990 MRP and the same 240 x 156 x 47 mm footprint. Audison rates it at 135 W x 6 into 4 Ω and 220 W x 6 into 2 Ω, so the M4D has the higher per-channel rating, while the M6D has two more channels and the higher total (1320 W against 1040 W).
The Audison SR 4.300 and SR 4.500 add crossovers on the amplifier. Audison rates the SR 4.500 at 130 W x 4 into 4 Ω, 220 W x 4 into 2 Ω and 450 W x 2 bridged, with 50 Hz to 3.2 kHz filters, two 25 A fuses and a weight of 2.12 kg. Our posts on both carry correction notes, so rely on Audison's published ratings.
The Class AB Zapco Z-150.4 II costs ₹1,19,990, which is ₹20,000 more. Zapco rates it at 4 x 165 W into 4 Ω, 4 x 275 W into 2 Ω and 2 x 550 W bridged into 4 Ω, slightly higher than the Audison at each load, but it measures 479 mm overall, about twice the Audison's longest dimension of 240 mm.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the AF M4D if a processor or an AF bit amplifier will handle crossovers and tuning, you want 160 W per channel into 4 Ω or 520 W bridged from a chassis of about 240 x 156 mm, and your power cable and fusing can supply the 47 A Audison lists at maximum musical power.
Look elsewhere if you want crossovers on the amplifier itself, as on the SR 4.500; you need six channels, where the AF M6D has the same MRP; or you need less power, where the AF C4D costs ₹30,000 less.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Audison lists two 30 A fuses, 1.2 A at idle and 47 A at maximum musical power (14.4 V, 2 Ω), with an operating supply of 6.5–17.5 V. That is nearly double the 25 A listed for the C4D, so size the power cable and fusing to the M4D's own figures, and confirm cable size, fuse-holder distance and clearance against Audison's AF D manual before buying cable. Audison lists 83% efficiency, so a share of the input power leaves as heat; its AFM-CLK cooling kit is described for the Forza Max line, not the M4D, so leave clear air around the case. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.

The bottom line
The Audison AF M4D is a four-channel amplifier that leaves all filtering to the source. Of the C4D, M4D and M6D compared above, it has the highest per-channel rating at 4 Ω, at 160 W against 135 W for the M6D and 90 W for the C4D. There are no owner reviews, so judge it on the ratings, the supply demand and your processor plan.
Audison AF M4D FAQ
