How to read the six-channel ratings

Audison publishes several ratings because load and wiring change what each channel delivers. At 4 Ω, channels 1–4 are rated 85 W and channels 5–6 110 W; at 2 Ω those become 140 W and 185 W. Channels 5 and 6 can go lower: with channels 1–4 at 2 Ω, Audison rates 5 and 6 at 300 W each into 1 Ω. Audison describes this staggered power as suited to a three-way active front.

Bridging changes the picture. With channels 5 and 6 bridged, Audison's five-channel rating is 85 W x 4 plus 370 W into 4 Ω, or 130 W x 4 plus 600 W into 2 Ω. The four speaker channels are rated 130 W at 2 Ω in that mode against 140 W in six-channel mode, and Audison does not say why. Bridging all three pairs gives 280 W x 2 plus 370 W into 4 Ω. A dual 4 Ω subwoofer with its coils in parallel presents 2 Ω to the bridged pair and receives 600 W.

Audison's 1120 W headline sits beside the 2 Ω figures of 140 W x 4 and 185 W x 2, which add up to 930 W. The 1120 W matches the five-channel mode at 2 Ω (4 x 130 W plus 600 W). Read the row that matches the wiring you will build.

Filters, DSP and an active three-way front

An active front gives the tweeter, midrange and woofer on each side their own amplifier channel, which takes six channels. Audison lists three filter groups, all at 12 dB/oct. Group A offers full range or a high-pass from 50 Hz to 5 kHz. Group B offers full range, a high-pass from 50 to 500 Hz or band-pass options. Group C offers full range, or a high-pass or low-pass from 50 to 700 Hz. Check in Audison's manual which channel pair each group serves before planning crossover points.

Analogue filters set crossover points but give no time alignment or equalisation. Audison's AF M1.7 bit page says that amplifier is also the system controller for non-DSP amplifiers, naming the SR 6.600 among them, and we list the Audison AF M1.7 bit. Our guide to DSP in car audio explains when a processor helps, and VA3 Car Studio offers DSP tuning.

Inputs, turn-on and a factory head unit

Inputs are RCA pre-ins (0.32–8 V) and balanced speaker-level inputs accepting 1.6–40 V, twice the top of the SR 5.600's 0.8–20 V range. A built-in USS handles factory sources that use speaker-load detection, and ART turns the amplifier on from the speaker signal (Speaker-In only). Audison says the amplifier meets the Japan Audio Society's Hi-Res bandwidth requirement of above 40 kHz, and publishes 10 Hz to 42 kHz. What you hear still depends on the source and speakers.

What owners and reviewers say about the Audison SR 6.600

When we checked in October 2026, we found one customer review of this amplifier, on OnlineCarStereo's SR 6.600 page, dated February 2026. The page shows no star rating or average and does not say whether reviews are moderated.

The reviewer said it arrived well protected, described the build as premium with a sturdy aluminium chassis and good terminals, said it runs cool, and found the sound clear and dynamic with good headroom. They also said the Hi-Res certification is audible on high-quality tracks and thought it good value against bigger brands. There were no complaints. The reviewer did not describe the speakers, source or settings, and Audison's own page is promotional, so we have not counted it as an opinion.

Audison SR 6.600 vs AF M6D, JL Audio XDM600/6 and SR 5.600

The Audison AF M6D (₹99,990) is rated 135 W x 6 into 4 Ω and 220 W x 6 into 2 Ω, higher on every channel than the SR 6.600, and measures 240 x 156 x 47 mm against 314 x 155 x 47.4 mm. Audison describes its AF D companion amplifiers as designed to add channels to AF bit amplifiers, with a straight-wire architecture, no analogue crossover filtering and use with external processors in mind. The SR 6.600 has built-in filters, goes to 1 Ω on channels 5 and 6, and has an MRP ₹30,000 lower.

The JL Audio XDM600/6 costs ₹1,09,990, which is ₹40,000 more. JL rates it at 75 W x 6 into 4 Ω and 100 W x 6 into 2 Ω, so the Audison's channels are rated higher at both loads, and JL's filters run from 50 to 500 Hz at 12 dB/oct on each pair. The Class AB Zapco Z-150.6 II (₹1,49,990) is rated 6 x 165 W into 4 Ω, higher on every channel, but measures 614 mm overall.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the SR 6.600 if you plan an active three-way front, or a front, rear and sub layout with separate filters, want channels 5 and 6 to drive 1 Ω loads or a bridged 2 Ω subwoofer, and have room for a 314 mm chassis.

Look elsewhere if five channels will do, where the Audison SR 5.600 (₹59,990) is rated 75 W x 4 plus 330 W into 4 Ω, or four will do, where our SR 4.300 and SR 4.500 posts apply. Both carry correction notes, so rely on Audison's published ratings.

Installation notes for Indian cars

The chassis is fanless, so the manual's rules matter: install between 0 °C and 55 °C, keep at least 5 cm between the amplifier and any wall, allow good air circulation, and never cover the heat sink, which puts the amplifier into protection. The manual warns that the case can reach about 80 °C and rules out the engine compartment and wet, humid or dusty places.

Audison lists two 30 A fuses, 2.2 A at idle and 54 A at maximum musical power (14.4 V, 2 Ω). The manual asks for a battery-side fuse rated 30% above the built-in value, with the holder close to the battery's positive terminal; its text says 40 cm at most while one diagram says 20 cm, so keep it short. Speaker cable is limited to 10 AWG. Six channels mean a lot of speaker cable, so plan the routing before the trim comes off. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, and we build speaker pods and door baffles for tweeter and midrange positions.

The bottom line

The Audison SR 6.600 is a six-channel amplifier with built-in filters, 1 Ω-rated channels 5 and 6 and speaker-level inputs up to 40 V. The one review we found is positive but too thin to rely on, so the ratings, the 314 mm length and your wiring plan matter most. Work from the rating row that matches your layout, and add a processor if you want more than filters.

Audison SR 6.600 FAQ

What is the Audison SR 6.600 rated at 4 ohm and 2 ohm?

Audison rates it at 85 W x 4 plus 110 W x 2 into 4 Ω and 140 W x 4 plus 185 W x 2 into 2 Ω (RMS, 14.4 V, 1% THD). Channels 5 and 6 are rated down to 1 Ω, at 300 W each with channels 1–4 at 2 Ω.

Can the Audison SR 6.600 run a subwoofer?

Yes. Bridging channels 5 and 6 gives 370 W into 4 Ω or 600 W into 2 Ω in Audison's five-channel mode, and a VCR-S2 or ARC 01 remote can adjust the level of outputs 5 and 6.

Does the Audison SR 6.600 need a DSP?

No. It has built-in filters, so a processor is optional. Audison's AF M1.7 bit page says that amplifier can act as system controller for non-DSP amplifiers such as the SR 6.600.
