DS18 R1F2M Review: Level 2 RCA Y-Connector, 1 Female to 2 Male
The DS18 R1F2M is a Level 2 RCA Y-connector (splitter) cable with one female RCA jack and two male RCA connectors, so one RCA output can feed two inputs. It has 100% copper OFC (oxygen-free copper) conductors, double-twisted wire and a red braided Ultra Flex jacket, and the India MRP is ₹299. It sits beside the R3 to R16 interconnects in DS18's Level 2 RCA range, and it suits anyone with one pair of source outputs and two amplifier inputs to fill. Our DS18 R1F2M listing has the details.

Quick summary
One female RCA jack in, two male RCA plugs out, with the same signal on both. One R1F2M carries one channel, so a left and right pair needs two.
Listed as 100% copper OFC with double-twisted wire and a red braided jacket. Our listing gives no length, shield or plating.
Right for one source pair feeding two amplifiers. Wrong for merging outputs, speaker-level sources or curing noise.
The only reviews we could read are the maker's store reviews: 8 in all, every one in the top row, with 5 displayed.

How a 1 female to 2 male Y-connector works
Female and male describe the connector, not the signal. A female RCA jack is the socket, and a male RCA connector is the plug that goes into it. On the R1F2M the single female jack takes a plug from your source, usually the end of an RCA cable, and the two male plugs go into two amplifier inputs.
Nothing in the listing mentions any electronics, so treat it as a plain wired splitter. Both legs carry the same signal, with no filtering, isolation or level control. An RCA jack carries one channel, so one R1F2M splits one channel. Feeding left and right to two amplifiers takes two.
The source also drives both inputs at once. DS18's G1000.4D page, an amplifier page and not this cable, lists a 22K ohm input impedance, so two such inputs side by side come to about 11K ohm. Check your source's manual for any advice on pre-out load.
When the DS18 R1F2M is the right tool
One stereo pair, two amplifiers. A head unit with a single set of RCA outputs can feed a speaker amplifier and a subwoofer amplifier through two R1F2Ms. Both amplifiers then receive the full-range signal, so set each amplifier's own crossover, with a low-pass on the subwoofer amplifier and a high-pass on the speaker amplifier.
One mono signal, two inputs. Some amplifiers want the same signal on both inputs, for example a subwoofer feed into a stereo amplifier. Follow your amplifier's manual on which inputs to use.
A four-channel amplifier fed from one stereo pair. Two R1F2Ms can fill all four inputs, but check for an input selector first, as covered below.
When it is the wrong tool
Merging outputs. Do not join two outputs into one input, because the two output stages would be wired together. A processor or mixer exists for that job.
Speaker-level sources. If the radio has no RCA outputs you need a line-output converter first (our JL Audio LoC22 review explains the idea) or an amplifier with a high-level input.
Noise. A Y-connector adds no filtering or isolation. Alternator whine is usually down to grounding and cable routing, and a splitter will not cure it.
Different signals for different amplifiers. Separate filtering, delay or EQ per amplifier is a DSP's job, and our DSP setup guide covers the basics.
What the listing and DS18 leave out
Our listing gives no length, and DS18's page does not state one for this Y-connector either. Neither gives a shield specification or connector plating. DS18's page overview describes copper-clad aluminium connectors, which our listing does not mention, while both call the conductors 100% copper OFC.
DS18's shop also lists a 1 male to 2 female version (R1M2F), a silver version and a 10-pack as separate items. Ours is the red 1 female to 2 male one, so check the genders against your plan. If your routing is tight, ask us to confirm the length before you order.
What owners and reviewers say about the DS18 R1F2M
When we checked in October 2026, the only owner feedback we could read was on DS18's own web shop, so it is the maker's store reviews and not independent testing. The R1F2M page shows 8 reviews, all in the top row of the star breakdown, and displays five of them. The reviews carry no dates.
One reviewer praises the build quality, and another says it worked perfectly for their application and recommends it highly. The other three displayed reviews contain only the product name, and none of the five says what it was connected to. That is thin evidence. We did not find independent reviews or owner threads in the sources we could reach.
The R1F2M beside the Level 2 cables, the kits and an input selector
The R1F2M only splits, so the run still needs a cable. The DS18 Level 2 RCA Cable comes in 3, 6, 12 and 16 ft lengths (0.9 m to 4.9 m), from ₹599 to ₹1,099 MRP. Our DS18 AMPKIT review and DS18 OFCKIT review cover the kits, which each include a 17 ft RCA cable but, in our listings, no Y-connector.
The better answer can be no splitter at all. The DS18 G1000.4D has a 2CH / 4CH input selector, and DS18's G-series manual says that in the 2-channel position one input signal on channels 1 and 2 can drive all four outputs. Where an amplifier offers that, one pair of RCA cables does the job.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the DS18 R1F2M if one pair of source outputs must feed two amplifiers, each with its own crossover, or if an amplifier needs the same mono signal on two inputs. Buy two for a stereo pair.
Look elsewhere if your amplifier has an input selector, your source has no RCA outputs, you want different processing per amplifier, or you need a long lead, since no length is listed.
Installation notes for Indian cars
If both amplifiers sit together, split near them so only one cable makes the long run from the dash. Push every plug fully home, and tie the splitter down so its weight does not hang from an input jack and loosen it over rough roads. Keep it clear of power cables. DS18's G-series amplifier manual asks for shielded RCA cables and this cable's shielding is not listed, so routing matters.
If the plan is different signals for each amplifier, a DSP is the cleaner route, and we do DSP tuning. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad also offers professional installation.
Price and where to buy
The India MRP is ₹299 for one DS18 R1F2M. A stereo pair of splits needs two, which is ₹598 at MRP. We often sell below MRP, so check the current price on the page. Our listing describes it as a genuine DS18 product.

The bottom line
The DS18 R1F2M is a small, plainly specified splitter that does one job: one RCA signal to two inputs. Use it when an amplifier has no selector, buy two for stereo, and do not expect it to merge signals or cure noise. The reviews we could read are the maker's own and say little.
DS18 R1F2M FAQ
What does the DS18 R1F2M do?
It takes one RCA signal into its female jack and sends the same signal out of two male plugs, so one output can feed two inputs. Our listing describes no circuitry, so expect no filtering or boost.
Do I need one or two DS18 R1F2M for a stereo signal?
Two. Each RCA jack carries one channel, so you need one Y-connector for the left channel and one for the right. The MRP is ₹299 each.
Can the DS18 R1F2M combine two RCA outputs into one input?
No. It is a splitter, and joining two outputs wires their output stages together. A processor or mixer is the right tool for combining signals.
