Morel IP HYU5C Review: 5.25-Inch DirectFit Coaxial Speakers for Hyundai
The Morel IP HYU5C is a 5.25-inch two-way coaxial speaker from Morel's Integration Performance (DirectFit) range, made to replace the factory speakers in selected Hyundai models using vehicle-specific wiring adapters. Our listing rates it at 70 W RMS (140 W peak) with 89.5 dB sensitivity and a 55 Hz – 20 kHz response. Its Indian MRP is ₹13,490, and it is the smaller, simpler Hyundai option next to the 6.5-inch IP HYU62 component set. It suits Hyundai owners who want clearer sound from the factory head unit without cutting wires or changing the look of the cabin. You can check today's price on our IP HYU5C product page.

Quick summary
A plug-and-play coaxial: the tweeter sits at the centre of the woofer, so each speaker needs only one factory location.
Vehicle-specific wiring adapters mean no cutting or splicing, so the job is reversible.
89.5 dB sensitivity works on head-unit power, though it is lower on paper than the 6.5-inch IP HYU62, IP SUZ6C, IP TOY62 and IP TOY6C (91–92 dB in our listings).
We found no owner reviews yet, and one retailer quotes higher power and sensitivity than our listing.

These figures come from our store listing; we could not reach Morel's own product page when we checked in October 2026. Australian retailer Frankies Auto Electrics lists the model at 80 W RMS, 160 W peak and 91 dB, exactly the figures our listings give for the 6.5-inch IP SUZ6C and IP TOY6C, while agreeing on the 55 Hz – 20 kHz response and adding a 4 Ω impedance. Until Morel settles it, plan any amplifier around the lower 70 W figure.
What DirectFit means in a Hyundai
Most aftermarket speaker jobs need a generic adapter ring and a bag of crimp connectors. DirectFit swaps those for parts made for the car: the IP HYU5C uses wiring adapters made for the factory connectors and is designed to drop into the original mounting point, so the trim goes back on and the cabin looks as it did. Because nothing is cut, the factory speakers can go back in if you sell the car.
The size is the first thing to check. Morel also builds 6.5-inch Hyundai models: the IP-HYU6C coaxial and the IP HYU62 component set. Neither our listing nor the retail listing we read names the models this one fits, so tell us your model, year and the location you want to upgrade, and ask us to check fitment before you order.
Factory head unit or amplifier?
Sensitivity tells you how loud a speaker plays for a given voltage, which matters most when the only power comes from a head unit. Our listing gives the IP HYU5C 89.5 dB at 2.83 V; the IP HYU62 is rated at 92 dB on the same basis, so from the same head unit it plays about 2.5 dB louder. The smaller coaxial should be fine at everyday volumes; it simply runs out of clean headroom sooner when you turn it up.
That limit belongs to the head unit's built-in amplifier, not to the speaker's 70 W rating. For more clean volume in a car that keeps its factory screen, a compact amplifier with speaker-level inputs is the tidy route. Morel's MDSP 6/4A is one example: our listing gives it 25 W RMS x 4 at 4 Ω, high-level inputs, built-in Bluetooth and DSP tuning through Morel's software or app. Keep any amplifier at or below 70 W RMS per channel and set the gain with a test tone.
If your Hyundai has a factory amplifier or a branded premium system, neither our listing nor the retail listing we read says how this speaker behaves with it, so mention it when you ask about fitment.
What owners and reviewers say about the Morel IP HYU5C
When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews, forum reports or professional tests of this speaker. The one retail listing we could read in full, at Frankies Auto Electrics in Australia, was still waiting for its first customer review, and our forum searches turned up retailer listings rather than owner threads.
So there is no owner consensus to report. What can be verified is the published data: plug-and-play adapters, a soft dome tweeter, a 55 Hz – 20 kHz response and a power rating that differs between sources. If you've fitted a set in your Hyundai, tell us how it sounds and how the fit went.
Morel IP HYU5C vs IP-HYU6C and IP HYU62
If your doors take the larger size, Morel's 6.5-inch Hyundai models are the obvious alternatives. The IP-HYU6C keeps the coaxial layout with a bigger cone, which usually brings more midbass. The IP HYU62 is a component set with separate tweeters at ₹15,990 MRP, ₹2,500 more. Our listing rates it at 90 W RMS, 92 dB and 50 Hz – 20 kHz, against 70 W, 89.5 dB and 55 Hz here, so on paper it plays louder, reaches slightly deeper and takes more power, and its tweeters can sit higher for a better stereo image. The smaller coaxial's advantage is simplicity.
Drive a different brand? Morel's 6.5-inch DirectFit coaxials for Suzuki and Toyota are the IP SUZ6C and the IP TOY6C.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the IP HYU5C if your Hyundai's openings take a 5.25-inch speaker, you want a reversible upgrade that keeps the factory head unit and look, and you listen at moderate volume.
Look elsewhere if your car takes 6.5-inch speakers, you want tweeters mounted high for a better image, or you plan to drive the speakers hard from an amplifier on day one; on paper the IP HYU62 is the stronger choice there. And if documented owner experience matters before you buy, there isn't any yet.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Plug-and-play doesn't mean the door can be ignored. A thin, resonant door panel wastes what midbass a 5.25-inch cone can make, so while the trim is off, damp the outer skin and seal large openings in the inner panel; our guide to applying sound damping properly explains the method. Doors also collect dust and monsoon water, so keep the adapter connections secure and clear of the path water takes down the window channel.
Before refitting the panel, run the window down and up to confirm nothing touches the speaker, and check for rattles; rough roads find loose clips quickly. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, and if you later add a DSP amplifier, we also do DSP tuning.
Price and where to buy
The Morel IP HYU5C carries an MRP of ₹13,490. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current offer on the IP HYU5C product page. Every unit we sell is a genuine Morel product.
The bottom line
This is a straightforward way to replace factory 5.25-inch speakers in a Hyundai: wiring adapters, factory mounting, a soft dome tweeter and published figures that suit head-unit power at everyday volumes. Its limits are those of a small coaxial, plus two specific to this model: no owner reviews yet, and power figures that differ between our listing and at least one retailer. If your car takes 6.5-inch speakers, look at the IP HYU62 first; if it takes 5.25-inch and you want a clean, reversible job, this is a sensible place to start.
Morel IP HYU5C FAQ
Will the Morel IP HYU5C fit my Hyundai?
It is made for selected Hyundai models, with wiring adapters for the factory connectors, but neither our listing nor the retail listing we read names those models. Tell us your model, year and the speaker location you want to upgrade, and ask us to check fitment before you order.
Does the IP HYU5C need an amplifier?
No. It connects to the factory wiring and runs on head-unit power. An amplifier adds headroom for louder listening; if you add one, size it to the 70 W RMS rating in our listing rather than the higher figure one retailer quotes.
How is it different from the IP-HYU6C and IP HYU62?
All three are Morel DirectFit models for Hyundai. The IP HYU5C is a 5.25-inch coaxial, the IP-HYU6C is a 6.5-inch coaxial, and the IP HYU62 is a 6.5-inch component set with separate tweeters, rated at 90 W RMS and 92 dB in our listing.
Are there owner reviews of the IP HYU5C?
Not that we could find when we checked in October 2026. The retail listing we read had no customer reviews and our forum searches found no owner threads, so this post sticks to the published figures.
