Morel Scorpio N Enclosure Review: An 8-Inch Kinetic Box for the Mahindra Scorpio N

Oct 7
5 min read

The Morel Scorpio N Enclosure is a vehicle-specific subwoofer enclosure made to fit the Mahindra Scorpio N, and it is the one Morel vehicle box we sell that carries the 8-inch Kinetic KS804 rather than the 10-inch KS104. Our listing rates the KS804 at 250 W RMS and 500 W peak into 4 ohms, with 86.5 dB sensitivity and a response listed from 40 Hz. The MRP is ₹32,990, which is ₹1,000 below the five KS104-loaded versions, and like them it comes from the Morel India 2026 catalogue. It suits a Scorpio N owner who wants ready-made bass from a Morel driver without a big amplifier. See it on our Scorpio N enclosure product page.

Key takeaways

  • The only Morel vehicle enclosure we list with the 8-inch KS804: 250 W RMS (500 W peak), 4 ohms, 86.5 dB, listed from 40 Hz.

  • On paper it gives up 50 W of rated power, 1.5 dB of sensitivity and some low-end extension to the KS104 in Morel's other vehicle boxes.

  • Morel's MPD 5.550 lists exactly 250 W RMS into 4 ohms on its sub channel, so one amplifier can run the sub and four speakers.

  • We found no reviews of this enclosure; a Team-BHP Scorpio N owner's custom fibreglass build shows the alternative route.

All figures are from our store listing. Morel's site returned an error when we tried to check them in October 2026, and a UK retailer's figures for the bare Kinetic 8 differ (Thomas Performance lists 82 dB and 20 Hz to 500 Hz), so we've kept to the Morel India data.

An 8-inch where the others have a 10-inch

Set against the KS104 in Morel's other vehicle enclosures, the KS804's ratings are lower across the board: 250 W RMS against 300 W, 86.5 dB against 88 dB, and a listed low end of 40 Hz against 32 Hz. In plain terms, expect a little less output and a little less of the very deepest bass from the same amplifier. Much of the bass in everyday music sits above 40 Hz; the lowest notes in some film soundtracks and electronic tracks go further down.

A smaller driver generally allows a smaller box, but our listing doesn't give this enclosure's size, so don't assume it's more compact than the 10-inch versions; make it part of the fitment check. Our Morel Kinetic KS804 review covers the driver on its own.

Amplifier pairing: a neat match on paper

Morel's MPD 5.550 lists 250 W RMS from its subwoofer channel into 4 ohms, exactly the KS804's rated 250 W RMS, plus four 75 W channels for the speakers. That makes it a one-box option for a Scorpio N getting new door speakers along with this enclosure. The same amplifier is rated at 400 W into 2 ohms on the sub channel, but that figure doesn't apply here, because the KS804 is a 4-ohm load.

A dedicated monoblock works too, and our Morel MPS 1.550 review covers one of Morel's mono amplifiers; whatever you choose, look for roughly 250 W RMS into 4 ohms. Set the gain with a test tone so the amplifier isn't driving the sub past that rating.

What owners and reviewers say about the Morel Scorpio N Enclosure

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews, forum posts or press coverage of this enclosure, and the UK listing for the bare Kinetic 8 at Thomas Performance had no customer reviews either.

What we did find is a related owner story. In a December 2024 Team-BHP article, a Scorpio N owner describes an upgrade that included an Alpine 12-inch sub. He first tried a removable wooden box, which improved the bass hugely, but dropped it because it ate into boot space. His installer, Evo Bengaluru, then built a custom wood-and-fibreglass enclosure into the rear cargo area, and he reports far more bass than the loose box gave, with a factory-like finish. It's a different sub and a one-off build, not this Morel box, but it shows the bass-versus-boot-space trade-off that owner weighed. If you've fitted the Morel Scorpio N Enclosure, we'd like to hear about it.

Morel Scorpio N Enclosure vs a custom box

We don't list a JL Stealthbox for the Scorpio N, so the realistic alternative to this Morel box is a custom one. VA3 Car Studio builds custom subwoofer enclosures, which lets you choose a bigger driver, such as the 12-inch Morel Kinetic KS124 at ₹12,990 MRP for the bare sub, and a shape that suits how you use the boot. Morel's other vehicle boxes, such as the Thar Roxx enclosure, show what the 10-inch KS104 brings for ₹1,000 more, though none of them is listed for the Scorpio N.

If you'd rather skip a separate amplifier, the Morel PSL8AE is an 8-inch active enclosure with a built-in 350 W amplifier at ₹44,990 MRP, measuring 165 x 326 x 420 mm. It isn't made for any particular car, so measure the space before choosing it.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy it if you want a ready-made Morel box for the Scorpio N, you're after a supporting bass layer rather than maximum output, and you like the idea of a single amplifier running everything.

Look elsewhere if you want the deepest bass the car can hold, or a box whose dimensions you can check before you buy; a custom build with a larger driver suits that brief better.

Installation notes for the Scorpio N

Treat the fitment check as step one: our listing names the Mahindra Scorpio N and asks you to confirm your model year, but gives no dimensions or mounting details. Once it's confirmed, the box needs fixing firmly enough to stay put over speed breakers and broken roads, and the speaker cable from the amplifier should run under the trim, secured rather than loose under the mats.

Amplifier placement matters in Indian heat. Give it airflow, keep it away from anywhere water collects, and fuse the power cable at the battery end. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, and DSP tuning to blend the sub with your door speakers.

Price and where to buy

The Morel Scorpio N Enclosure has an MRP of ₹32,990, the lowest of the six Morel vehicle enclosures we list. We often sell below MRP, so check the current price on the Scorpio N enclosure listing. It is a genuine Morel product.

Morel Scorpio N Enclosure - another view

The bottom line

The Morel Scorpio N Enclosure trades a little output and extension for its 8-inch driver, and pairs neatly with a 250 W RMS amplifier channel such as the MPD 5.550's. With no published box details and no owner reviews, buy it after a fitment check, and consider a custom build instead if deep bass matters more to you than convenience.

Morel Scorpio N Enclosure FAQ

Which subwoofer is in the Morel Scorpio N Enclosure?

An 8-inch driver, Morel's Kinetic KS804 (220 mm), where the other five Morel vehicle boxes we sell use the 10-inch KS104. Our listing rates it at 250 W RMS and 500 W peak into 4 ohms, with 86.5 dB sensitivity and a response listed from 40 Hz.

Why does it cost less than Morel's other vehicle enclosures?

Our listing doesn't explain the pricing. The visible difference is the driver: this box carries the 8-inch KS804, while the five ₹33,990 versions carry the 10-inch KS104.

Can the Morel MPD 5.550 power it?

On paper, yes. Its subwoofer channel is rated at 250 W RMS into 4 ohms, matching the KS804's 250 W RMS rating, and its four other channels can run your door speakers.
