Onkyo R-MS76 Review: 10-In 12-Out DSP Amplifier With Ten Amplified Channels

6 min read

The Onkyo R-MS76 is a 10-in 12-out DSP amplifier with ten high-level inputs, twelve low-level outputs, a 31-band equaliser on every channel and a built-in ten-channel amplifier that Onkyo lists at 4 x 50 W + 4 x 100 W + 2 x 200 W maximum. Its Indian MRP is ₹64,990, the highest of the eight Onkyo DSP amplifiers we list and ₹15,000 above the R-MS69. It suits a system with many speakers to drive from a factory head unit or from a source with digital outputs. The amplifier is on our Onkyo R-MS76 product page.

Onkyo R-MS76 10-in 12-out DSP amplifier with Bluetooth

Quick summary

  • Ten high-level inputs, twelve low-level outputs and ten amplified channels at 4 x 50 W + 4 x 100 W + 2 x 200 W max. Onkyo publishes no RMS figure.

  • A 31-band equaliser on every channel and up to six user presets. Our listing adds a Hi-Res Audio label that Onkyo's page does not carry.

  • Against the R-MS69 it adds two amplified channels, two high-level inputs and two low-level outputs, in the same body, for an MRP ₹15,000 higher.

  • We found no owner reviews or independent tests in October 2026.

Figures come from Onkyo's R-MS76 product page and our store listing, which agree on every number. Onkyo's page files the two-channel low-level, USB, optical and coaxial entries under outputs, while our listing treats them as inputs, as Onkyo's R-MS66 page does for its low-level, USB and optical entries. That reads like a layout slip; confirm the input list before planning around the digital inputs.

Ten channels of mixed max power: what the rating leaves out

Onkyo lists the amplifier as MAX Power only, in three groups: four channels at 50 W, four at 100 W and two at 200 W. It doesn't say which outputs belong to which group, into what load, or whether all ten can reach their figure at once. Max is not continuous output, and the gap between max and RMS varies by maker. Alpine's manual pairs 35 W RMS with 70 W max on the PXE-R100-8, while Zapco's pairs 100 W RMS with 300 W max on the Class D channels of the HB 810 II 8AD. We won't turn Onkyo's figures into RMS.

Adding the listed figures gives 1,000 W, the same arithmetic total as the R-MS69's 6 x 100 W + 2 x 200 W. It isn't a continuous rating, but it shows the R-MS76's two extra channels divide the same listed total differently instead of raising it.

Ten amplified channels could run a three-way front stage (six), a rear pair (two) and a subwoofer pair (two). Whether each driver gets a suitable channel depends on which outputs carry the 50 W, 100 W and 200 W ratings, which the page doesn't say.

Ten high-level inputs, twelve outputs and the Hi-Res label

Ten high-level inputs take speaker-level signals from a factory head unit, one wire pair per channel, so a DSP can join a factory touchscreen system without replacing the head unit. The two low-level inputs suit a source with pre-outs, and the optical and coaxial inputs take digital signals from a media player or aftermarket source. Bluetooth is listed with no version or codec.

Our listing puts Hi-Res Audio in the title and the spec table. Onkyo's R-MS76 page doesn't mention it, and neither source lists a sample rate, bit depth or the input the label refers to. The Alpine and Morel units in the table below do publish a sample rate. Until Onkyo publishes a figure, treat the R-MS76's Hi-Res label as unconfirmed.

Our listing calls the twelve low-level outputs RCA but doesn't say how they map onto the ten amplified ones. Onkyo lists up to six user presets without saying what a preset stores. Our listing says setup uses Onkyo's R-MS Series software for PC and Android. Onkyo's download page lists R-MS Series apps (Android V2.1.8 and PC V1.1.9 when we looked) without naming models, and the R-MS76 page lists no crossover or time-delay controls. Ten channels give plenty to set up, and VA3 Car Studio offers DSP tuning for a unit like this.

What owners and reviewers say about the Onkyo R-MS76

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews, forum threads or independent tests of the R-MS76. Onkyo's page is a specification table, which is promotional rather than a review, and our listing shows no customer reviews. The closest item is a June 2026 Team-BHP post that lists an Onkyo R-MS66, a different model, in an active system and gives no opinion of it. Sound quality, software behaviour and heat handling are therefore unverified. If you own an R-MS76, tell us how it has gone.

The R-MS69 lists the same low-level and digital inputs in the same body, for ₹15,000 less. Our live R-MS66 post covers the 8-in 10-out model at ₹27,990 MRP, which lists optical but not coaxial. The Alpine and the Morel publish RMS ratings, and Alpine's manual lists crossovers and 0 to 20 ms of output delay; Onkyo's R-MS76 page lists none of these. Both cost more than the R-MS76 at MRP and list eight amplified channels, not ten.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the R-MS76 if you want a fully active system with ten amplified channels, have a factory head unit with many speaker outputs to tap, and accept a max-only rating and an unconfirmed Hi-Res label. Look elsewhere if eight amplified channels are enough (the R-MS69 lists the same low-level and digital inputs for ₹15,000 less), or you want published RMS power and documented crossover and delay controls (the Alpine above).

Installation notes for Indian cars

At 214.5 x 188 x 46 mm and about 2.1 kg, the R-MS76 shares the R-MS69's body, the largest of the eight Onkyo DSP amplifiers we list. It needs a flat, ventilated spot away from heater ducts and direct sun, since a closed cabin gets very hot in an Indian summer and Onkyo lists no operating temperature range. Onkyo also publishes no supply range, current draw or fuse rating, so the power feed has to be sized at fitting, with the AC running and battery voltage at idle in mind.

Ten high-level inputs can mean ten speaker-wire pairs to identify and tap at a factory touchscreen head unit. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, and makes speaker pods and door baffles for the speakers the amplifier will drive.

Price and where to buy

The Onkyo R-MS76 has an MRP of ₹64,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current price on the R-MS76 listing. Warranty terms are set by Onkyo; confirm them with us before ordering.

The bottom line

The R-MS76 has the most channels of the Onkyo DSP amplifiers we list, at the highest MRP of the eight. Its max-only rating, unconfirmed Hi-Res label and lack of reviews mean the details that matter to your build are worth confirming before you order.

Onkyo R-MS76 FAQ

What does 10-in 12-out mean on the Onkyo R-MS76?

It lists ten high-level inputs, twelve low-level outputs and ten amplified outputs. Our listing adds two low-level, optical, coaxial, Bluetooth and USB inputs, though Onkyo's page files several of those under outputs, so confirm them. Onkyo doesn't say how the outputs map onto each other.

Is the R-MS76 a Hi-Res Audio amplifier?

Our listing says so, but Onkyo's page doesn't mention Hi-Res and lists no sample rate or bit depth, so we can't confirm what the label covers.

What is the difference between the R-MS76 and the R-MS69?

The R-MS76 lists ten amplified channels, ten high-level inputs and twelve low-level outputs against eight, eight and ten, in the same body, for an MRP ₹15,000 higher.
