Steg MDSP10 II Review: Listed at 8 x 50 W RMS, but 8 or 10 Channels?
The Steg MDSP10 II is a DSP amplifier that our listing rates at 8 x 50 W RMS into 4 Ω, with six high-level inputs, an optical input and PC tuning software. Its Indian MRP is ₹74,990, the second highest of the four Steg DSP amplifiers we list. The catch is the naming: the page is titled Steg MDSP10 8-Channel DSP Amplifier and describes the MDSP10, while its web address says MDSP10 II 10-channel. This review sorts out what is documented and what to confirm. It suits a buyer who wants eight amplified channels and will check which version is in the box. See it on our Steg MDSP10 II product page.

Quick summary
Rated 8 x 50 W RMS at 4 Ω and 8 x 120 W maximum, which is not RMS. No 2 Ω or bridged rating, amplifier class, test voltage or distortion figure is listed.
Six high-level inputs, one optical input, STEG TuneEQ for PC and time delay are listed.
The page text calls it an 8-channel MDSP10, while the web address says MDSP10 II and 10-channel. We found no document naming the II.
We found no owner reviews. The MDSP10 manual covers the MDSP10, not the II.

All figures come from our store listing, which describes the MDSP10. The only manufacturer document we found is the MDSP10 manual on ManualsLib. Steg's own website could not be opened from our research session, so nothing here has been checked against a manufacturer page.
8-channel or 10-channel? Which unit is this?
The page, its web address and the manual count the channels differently:
The page is titled as an 8-channel MDSP10, names the model MDSP10 and rates it at 8 x 50 W RMS.
The web address reads MDSP10 II 10-channel, and the SKU ends in MDSP10-II.
The manual's panel diagram labels line outputs CH1 to CH10 and speaker outputs 1 to 8, and its technical table has an 8X50W line.
One possible reading is a processor with ten outputs, eight of them amplified. Other brands label units that way: the Alpine PXE-R100-8 is a 10-channel processor with an 8-channel amplifier, and the Morel MDSP 10/8A has eight amplified outputs plus two RCA outputs. But the manual covers the MDSP10, and nothing we found says what the II changes. Treat this as a reading, not a fact, and ask which version is in the box.
Power, loads and speaker matching
The listing gives no test voltage, distortion figure, amplifier class, 2 Ω rating or bridging, so treat 4 Ω as the only rated load. Two examples:
The JL Audio C2-650 is rated 60 W RMS, and JL's recommended amplifier range is 15 to 100 W per channel, so 50 W sits inside it.
The Steg SE650C set has a 120 W RMS woofer rated at 2 Ω and a 90 W RMS tweeter at 4 Ω. With only a 4 Ω rating listed, ask before connecting a 2 Ω driver.
For a subwoofer, match the driver's rating to 50 W per channel; the listing does not say the channels bridge.
Inputs, tuning and factory integration
The listing gives six high-level inputs and one optical input. The manual's panel diagram also labels coaxial, USB, Bluetooth and remote connections, gives a 3 to 15 V high-level input range and describes a de-equalization function so the DSP can send back a linear signal from a factory system. The listing mentions none of these, and none is confirmed for the II.
The listing names Augmented Bass Processing and Real Center without describing them, and lists time delay. The manual documents more for the MDSP10:
a 32-bit DSP with a 31-band equaliser on each output channel, Q from 1 to 12;
Linkwitz, Bessel and Butterworth crossovers with slopes up to 48 dB/oct;
phase per channel from 0 to 180 (unit not printed), time delay set automatically or manually, and 0 to 40 dB of gain;
eight presets, an optional DRC remote and a PC program over USB with an optional password.
The listing names STEG TuneEQ for PC, but the manual we read does not use that name, so confirm which software your unit ships with. DSP tuning is a service we offer, and our guides cover the need for DSP and how to set it up.
What owners and reviewers say about the Steg MDSP10 II
When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews, forum threads or magazine tests of the MDSP10 II or the MDSP10. The MDSP10 manual is the only manufacturer document we read, and a dealer page for the MDSP10 could not be opened. If you run an MDSP10 II, tell us how it behaves in your car.
MDSP10 II vs other DSP amps with 8 amplified channels
Model | Amplified channels | RMS power at 4 Ω | High-level inputs | MRP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Steg MDSP10 II | 8 | 8 x 50 W | 6 | ₹74,990 |
Onkyo R-MS69 | 8 | 6 x 100 W + 2 x 200 W (maximum, load not stated) | 8 | ₹49,990 |
Zapco HB 810 II 8AD | 8 | 4 x 35 W + 4 x 100 W | 8 | ₹54,990 |
Alpine PXE-R100-8 | 8 | 8 x 35 W | 6 | ₹79,999 |
Morel MDSP 10/8A | 8 | 4 x 80 W + 4 x 160 W | 8 | ₹1,09,990 |
See also our Onkyo R-MS69 and Zapco HB 810 II 8AD reviews. Test conditions differ: Alpine quotes 35 W at 10% THD, Morel quotes 14 V, Onkyo gives only a maximum and our listing gives no conditions, so the 50 W cannot be strictly ranked against the Alpine's 35 W. The Steg lists fewer high-level inputs than the Onkyo, Zapco and Morel.
Within Steg's DSP range, the Steg MDSP6 (₹42,990) and Steg SDSP4 (₹49,990) list no power rating, while the Steg SS-DSP12 lists 12 x 80 W RMS at 4 Ω.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Consider the MDSP10 II if you want eight amplified channels with a stated RMS rating, run 4 Ω speakers rated near 50 W RMS or more, and will confirm which version ships.
Look elsewhere if you need a rated 2 Ω or bridged output, eight high-level inputs, or published fuse and current figures.
Installation notes for Indian cars
The listing calls the body compact but gives no dimensions or weight, so confirm the size before choosing a spot. The MDSP10 manual gives 1.5 A at idle for that model and shows a fuse position without printing a rating, so get the fuse rating and the full-output current before wiring. Mount the unit on a rigid panel with air around it and out of direct sun, because a closed boot in an Indian summer gets hot. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation and DSP tuning.
Price and where to buy
The Steg MDSP10 II has an MRP of ₹74,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's offer on the MDSP10 II product page. It is sold as a genuine Steg product.

The bottom line
The MDSP10 II is listed at 8 x 50 W RMS into 4 Ω with six high-level inputs, an optical input and PC software, at an MRP of ₹74,990. That is more documentation than the MDSP6 or SDSP4 have, but the page describes the MDSP10, the web address says 10-channel, and no document names the II. Confirm the version, minimum load and fuse before you order.
Steg MDSP10 II FAQ
How many channels does the Steg MDSP10 II have?
The page text says 8-channel, while the web address says 10-channel. The MDSP10 manual labels 10 line outputs and 8 speaker outputs, which may explain both counts, but it covers the MDSP10, not the II.
What is the MDSP10 II's power rating?
The listing gives 8 x 50 W RMS at 4 ohm and 8 x 120 W maximum. The maximum figures are not RMS, and no 2 ohm rating, bridging, test voltage or distortion figure is listed.
Does the MDSP10 II take speaker-level inputs from a factory stereo?
The listing gives six high-level inputs, which take speaker-level signals, and one optical input. The MDSP10 manual gives a high-level input range of 3 to 15 V, so check it against your head unit's output.
Is the MDSP10 II the same as the MDSP10?
Our page describes the MDSP10 under an MDSP10 II web address and SKU. We found no document naming the II, so we cannot say what differs. Confirm the version before you order.
