AudioControl A1: what it is
The AudioControl A1 is a pair of standalone 1-inch Altitude Series component tweeters rated at 50 W RMS and 4 ohm. A silk dome diaphragm gives smooth, accurate highs, and the compact high-strength polymer housing suits vehicles with limited mounting space.

AudioControl publishes: power handling 50 W RMS; impedance 4 ohm; DC resistance 3.2 ohm; frequency response 1,500 Hz – 20 kHz; sensitivity 86.5 dB (1 W / 1 m) or 89.5 dB (2.83 V / 1 m).
The two sensitivity figures are the same measurement expressed two ways: for a 4-ohm speaker, 2.83 V equals 2 W, so the 2.83 V figure reads 3 dB higher than the 1 W figure.
Fitment: overall diameter 42.5 mm (1.67 in), cut-out 35 mm (1.37 in), mounting depth 10 mm (0.39 in), total depth 18.5 mm (0.73 in).

Fitment: will it fit your car?
Measure the factory opening and the depth available behind it, including clearance to the window glass and its channel at full travel. The A1 needs 10 mm (0.39 in) of mounting depth and a 35 mm (1.37 in) cut-out. Small drivers are usually mounted in the dash, A-pillars or custom pods; a rigid, sealed mounting keeps them clean at volume.
Crossover, filtering and placement
The A1 covers 1,500 Hz to 20 kHz, so it must be fed through a high-pass filter: a passive crossover or a high-passed DSP channel.
A-pillar or dash mounting usually gives the best stereo image; aim towards the opposite seat as a starting point and adjust by listening and measurement.
Amplification
Each tweeter is rated at 50 W RMS; run them from the same amplifier channel as the woofer through a passive crossover, or from their own high-passed channel of a DSP amplifier such as the D-6.1200.

The A1 suits adding or upgrading tweeters in a compact space, for example to complete an Altitude 3-way system with the A275C or A35C midranges.
