AudioControl A275C Review: Specifications, Fitment and Comparisons
Quick summary: the buying decision
The A275C is a pair of 2.75-inch component midrange speakers, rated at 50 W RMS at 4 ohm, covering 125 Hz – 20 kHz. A dedicated midrange takes the vocal band away from the woofer and tweeter, which is what makes a 3-way system sound clearer and more focused when it is filtered and placed properly.
AudioControl A275C: what it is
The AudioControl A275C is a pair of standalone 2.75-inch Altitude Series component midrange drivers rated at 50 W RMS and 4 ohm. Their extended bandwidth (125 Hz – 20 kHz) suits both 2-way and 3-way systems, and an in-line filter gives precise frequency control.
AudioControl's Altitude speakers share precision-moulded glass-fibre cones, butyl rubber surrounds, silk dome tweeters and steel slimline baskets for easier installation, and they are designed and engineered in the USA. The range covers the A65 coaxials, the A65CS2 component set and standalone A1 tweeters and A275C / A35C midranges for building a 3-way system.

Key features
Extended bandwidth for smooth integration in 2-way and 3-way systems
Lightweight aluminium dust cap enhances sensitivity and extends frequency response
Precision-moulded glass-fibre cone and durable butyl rubber surround
In-line filter for precise frequency control
Steel slimline basket with dual mounting options and direct wiring
Specifications explained
AudioControl publishes: power handling 50 W RMS; impedance 4 ohm; DC resistance 3.6 ohm; frequency response 125 Hz – 20 kHz; sensitivity 82.6 dB (1 W / 1 m) or 85.6 dB (2.83 V / 1 m).
The two sensitivity figures are the same measurement expressed two ways: for a 4-ohm speaker, 2.83 V equals 2 W, so the 2.83 V figure reads 3 dB higher than the 1 W figure.
Fitment: overall diameter 72.3 mm (2.85 in), cut-out 65 mm (2.55 in), mounting depth 32.5 mm (1.28 in), total depth 37 mm (1.45 in).

Fitment: will it fit your car?
Measure the factory opening and the depth available behind it, including clearance to the window glass and its channel at full travel. The A275C needs 32.5 mm (1.28 in) of mounting depth and a 65 mm (2.55 in) cut-out. Small drivers are usually mounted in the dash, A-pillars or custom pods; a rigid, sealed mounting keeps them clean at volume.
Crossover, filtering and placement
The A275C covers 125 Hz to 20 kHz and comes with an in-line filter for frequency control, so it works as a midrange in a 3-way system or as a wide-range driver in a 2-way build.
Mount midranges high in the dash or A-pillars where possible, close to the tweeters, so the vocal range and treble arrive from the same area.
Amplification
At 50 W RMS each, they can run from a modest amplifier channel; in an active 3-way build, a DSP amplifier such as the D-6.1200 gives each driver its own channel and filter.

Price and value in India
At the time of writing (October 2026), VA3 Car Studio lists the A275C at ₹9,340, 15% below the MRP of ₹10,990. Budget for mounting work and proper filtering, which decide how well a midrange integrates with the rest of the system. Prices can change, so the product page always shows the current price.
Verdict: who should shortlist the A275C
The A275C fits where space is tight, such as small dash or pillar openings, and is the smaller of the two Altitude midrange options.
