AudioControl LC-4.800 Review: Specifications, Installation and Comparisons
Quick summary: the buying decision
The LC-4.800 is a high-power 4-channel amplifier for factory system upgrades: it takes speaker-level signals directly (6 inputs), compensates for factory bass roll-off with AccuBASS and delivers 4 x 125 W RMS at 4 ohm. Crossovers are set on the amplifier rather than in an app, so time alignment and detailed equalisation need a separate processor if your build needs them.
AudioControl LC-4.800: what it is
The AudioControl LC-4.800 is a high-power 4-channel amplifier designed to integrate with most factory-installed source units. It delivers 4 x 125 W RMS at 4 ohm or 4 x 200 W RMS at 2 ohm and can be configured as a 4, 3 or 2-channel amplifier.
AudioControl's LC amplifiers are built for cars that keep the factory head unit. The LC-4.800 can be configured as a 4, 3 or 2-channel amplifier and shares its power ratings and chassis size with the matching D-series DSP amplifier.

Specifications explained
Rated power at 14.4 V is 4 x 125 W at 4 ohm and 4 x 200 W at 2 ohm, with 400 W RMS from a bridged pair at 4 ohm. AudioControl quotes a 10 Hz – 30 kHz frequency response, a signal-to-noise ratio of 102 dBA (ref. 200 W at 2 ohm) and THD+N of less than 0.1%.
It has 6 speaker-level inputs (3 – 40 V RMS) and 4 balanced preamp inputs (250 mV – 8 V RMS), and Linkwitz-Riley crossovers adjustable from 30 Hz to 300 Hz, plus a PFM subsonic filter.

Factory integration: speaker-level inputs and AccuBASS
The speaker-level inputs accept 3 – 40 V RMS, so the amplifier can take its signal straight from a factory head unit or many factory amplifiers. Signal summing combines filtered factory channels, AccuBASS compensates for factory bass roll-off, GTO signal sense turns the amplifier on from the audio signal, and MILC (maximum input level control) helps match the input to the source.
Channel layouts and crossovers
Configured as a 4, 3 or 2-channel amplifier, the LC-4.800 can run front and rear speakers, or bridge channel pairs for more power (400 W RMS at 4 ohm per bridged pair). With Linkwitz-Riley crossovers adjustable from 30 Hz to 300 Hz, plus a PFM subsonic filter, you can send high-pass to the speakers and low-pass to a subwoofer without extra processing.
An optional ACR-1 remote adds level control from the driver's seat. If you later want time alignment and app-based equalisation, a DM-810 DSP can sit before the amplifier.
Wiring and fusing
AudioControl specifies at least 3 AWG power and ground wire, and the amplifier carries 2 x 40 A fuses. Fit a main fuse close to the battery sized for the cable, keep the ground short and on bare metal, and route signal and power cables on opposite sides of the car. The amplifier measures 9.0 x 7.95 x 2.1 in (W x D x H).

How it compares
Within the LC range:
AudioControl LC-6.1200: 6 x 125 W RMS at 4 ohm, 8 speaker-level inputs, crossovers set on the amplifier, ₹1,27,490
AudioControl LC-5.1300: 4 x 100 W + 1 x 300 W RMS at 4 ohm, 8 speaker-level inputs, crossovers set on the amplifier, ₹1,27,490
The AudioControl D-4.800 has the same rated power and adds an app-tuned matrix DSP with time alignment, a 30-band equaliser and RTAs, and at VA3 Car Studio's current prices it costs the same (₹89,240).
Price and value in India
At the time of writing (October 2026), VA3 Car Studio lists the LC-4.800 at ₹89,240, 15% below the MRP of ₹1,04,990. At the moment it costs the same as the D-4.800, which adds an app-tuned DSP. Prices can change, so the product page always shows the current price.
Verdict: who should shortlist the LC-4.800
At VA3 Car Studio's current prices the LC-4.800 and the D-4.800 cost the same, so the D-4.800's built-in DSP makes it the stronger buy for most cars; choose the LC-4.800 if you specifically want simple, amplifier-mounted controls.
Real-world reviews and limitations
We have not yet published a VA3 installation report for the LC-4.800. The figures in this review are AudioControl's published specifications, not our own measurements, and real-world results depend on the installation, the wiring and the tune. If you have used one, we would welcome your feedback.
