Audison APBMW K4M Review: 4-Inch BMW and Mini Component Kit vs K4E
The Audison APBMW K4M is a 100 mm (4 in) two-way component kit from Audison's Prima range for BMW and Mini, rated at 50 W continuous and 100 W peak into 4 ohm, with a separate 29 mm tweeter and a crossover. Audison says it was developed for BMW-Mini models that have factory two-way systems. The Indian MRP is ₹49,990. This review focuses on the tweeter and crossover, which set a K kit apart from Audison's coaxials, and on how the K4M differs from its near-twin, the K4E. See it on our Audison APBMW K4M product page.

Key takeaways
It is a two-way kit: a 100 mm midrange and a separate 29 mm Tetolon dome tweeter, joined by a crossover that Audison lists as high-pass 6 kHz at 6 dB per octave with a -3 dB or 0 dB level setting.
Audison rates it at 50 W continuous and 100 W peak, 90 Hz to 23 kHz, with woofer sensitivity of 88 dB and tweeter sensitivity of 90 dB.
On Audison's pages the K4M and K4E differ only in woofer moving mass, Qms and weight. Audison does not explain M and E, and gives no overall dimensions for either kit.
We found no customer reviews for the K4M when we checked in October 2026.

Figures come from Audison's K4M page, its technical datasheet and our listing. Neither Audison source gives overall dimensions, a mounting depth or a cut-out.
The crossover and tweeter in the Audison APBMW K4M
Audison's crossover row reads high-pass 6 kHz at 6 dB per octave, with a level adjustment of -3 dB or 0 dB. A 6 dB per octave slope is the gentlest of the usual filter slopes, so read it as a gradual roll-in, not a hard cut. Audison's pages do not name the crossover. Audison adds that the midrange has a low resonance that allows a high-pass cut-off in the 150 to 200 Hz range.
The tweeter is a 29 mm Tetolon dome that Audison says is optimised for off-axis output, and the kit includes a tweeter support for plug-and-play OEM placement. Audison's pages do not describe that support or the positions it suits. OnlineCarStereo says the tweeter snaps into the factory tweeter mount, that an adapter is included for certain rear-deck fittings and that an optional door-mount adapter exists for some models. BestCarAudio's sponsored post mentions angled mounting cups for parcel-shelf installs. Neither is Audison's own statement, so ask us what your car allows. Audison's manual also says not to install the tweeter without its protective grille.
What is in the box
Audison publishes no contents list. Our listing names woofers, tweeters and crossover components plus a complete BMW and Mini installation accessory set. OnlineCarStereo lists 2 woofers, 2 tweeters, 2 crossovers, 2 flanges, 2 EVA adhesive tapes, 2 cable ties, 2 extension cables and an owner's manual, which is that retailer's list, not Audison's. Ask us to confirm what ships with ours.
Audison APBMW K4M vs K4E
The two kits carry the same ratings, tweeter, crossover and features on Audison's pages and the same MRP on ours, and neither Audison page mentions the other. Three published figures differ.
Published figure | Audison APBMW K4M | Audison APBMW K4E |
|---|---|---|
Woofer Mms (moving mass) | 6.4 g | 6.3 g |
Woofer Qms | 8.9 | 8.2 |
Woofer weight | 0.426 kg | 0.46 kg |
The K4E woofer is 34 g heavier, and Audison's published ratings are the same. Audison does not say which cars take which kit, so choose by fitment and ask us to check. Our K4E review covers the other kit, and the coaxial alternative is the APBMW X4M.
What owners and reviewers say about the Audison APBMW K4M
We found no customer reviews for the K4M when we checked in October 2026. The OnlineCarStereo K4M page shows none.
The wider coverage is a September 2021 BestCarAudio spotlight, labelled as a sponsored post, so we treat it as promotional. It has no measurements and says the range is designed for efficient operation with small to moderately powered amplifiers. The only customer comment we found is an undated review on a UK retailer's MINI door-speaker upgrade kit built from Audison Prima speakers. It calls the kit a big improvement over the base speakers, even without extra amplification, but the page does not name the Audison model, so it may not be the K4M. If you own one, tell us how it sounds in your car.
Audison APBMW K4M vs the Morel IR-BMW 42
Specification | Audison APBMW K4M | Morel IR-BMW 42 |
|---|---|---|
Power handling | 50 W continuous / 100 W peak | 100 W RMS / 300 W peak |
Sensitivity | Woofer 88 dB, tweeter 90 dB | 92 dB (2.83 V at 1 m) |
Frequency response | 90 Hz - 23 kHz | 50 Hz - 25 kHz |
Tweeter | 29 mm Tetolon dome | 28 mm Acuflex silk dome |
Crossover | High-pass 6 kHz at 6 dB per octave | 2700 Hz at 12 dB per octave |
India MRP | ₹49,990 | ₹1,09,990 |
The Morel IR-BMW 42 is a 4-inch two-way set for BMW, and its MRP is ₹60,000 above the K4M. The makers word power differently (Audison continuous, Morel RMS) and describe their crossovers differently, so do not read the rows as a ranking. Our listing says the Morel is designed to be used with an aftermarket amplifier, and we found no amplifier requirement on Audison's K4M page. Morel says BMW and Audison says BMW-Mini, so confirm fitment before comparing price.
Who should buy the Audison APBMW K4M, and who shouldn't
Buy it if your car has a factory two-way layout, you want the tweeter on its own support and a crossover supplied, and you have confirmed fitment and tweeter position with us.
Look elsewhere if you want a single-unit coaxial (the X4M or X4E), need published overall dimensions before ordering, or need Audison to name your car, which its product pages do not do. Retailers abroad publish model lists that we have not verified for India.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Plan the tweeter position first, because it is the part Audison does not describe. Audison's general APBMW manual says to check for cables or structural elements before drilling or cutting, to keep speakers away from water, excess humidity, dust and dirt and to make sure the mounting location does not interfere with the vehicle's mechanical or electrical systems. Treat the door with damping; our guide to sound damping explains how. Audison also lists a separate APBMW A4E mount for BMW models with non-standard fixings, and its page names no models. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.
Audison APBMW K4M price and where to buy
The Audison APBMW K4M carries an MRP of ₹49,990, the same as the K4E and the coaxial X4M and X4E. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current offer on the K4M product page.
The bottom line
The Audison APBMW K4M is a two-way kit built around a 29 mm tweeter, a crossover and a tweeter support, which Audison describes only briefly. Against the K4E it differs only in woofer moving mass, Qms and weight. What it lacks is evidence: no owner reviews, no overall dimensions and no model list on Audison's pages. Tell us your car, let us check fitment and tweeter position, then choose between the K4M, K4E and the coaxials.
Audison APBMW K4M FAQ
