Updated: Oct 7

The Deaf Bonce Atom 5.5K PRO is a mono Class D amplifier in the Apocalypse Atom PRO series, rated at 5,500 W RMS into 1 Ω at 14.4 V, 2,850 W into 2 Ω and 1,710 W into 4 Ω, falling to 3,900 W at 12 V. Unlike its siblings' product pages, its page lists a 9–15 V operating range. Its Indian MRP is ₹89,990, the last Atom PRO below ₹1 lakh in our range. It suits four 1,500 W subwoofers wired to 1 Ω, in a build with a serious charging system. See it on our Deaf Bonce Atom 5.5K PRO product page.

Deaf Bonce Atom 5.5K PRO mono Class D subwoofer amplifier

Atom 5.5K PRO in brief

  • 5,500 W at 1 Ω, but 1,600 W less at 12 V, the second-largest proportional drop in the Atom PRO range we sell.

  • The product page lists 9–15 V and the shared manual's table 9–16 V, so design for 15 V or below.

  • Bass-only filters again (40–250 Hz low-pass, 10–50 Hz subsonic), with bass boost, an RCA output and a remote listed in the manual.

  • No owner reviews were readable when we checked.

Figures are from Deaf Bonce's Atom 5.5K PRO page, with the bass boost, RCA output and installation details from the shared 2.5K to 12.5K PRO owner's manual. Our listing matches the product page, including the 9–15 V range.

The 15 V question

Deaf Bonce's figures disagree on this amplifier's upper voltage. Its product page and our listing say 9–15 V; the specification table in the shared manual says 9–16 V for every model from the 2.5K PRO to the 12.5K PRO; and the manual's troubleshooting section says the supply must stay within 9–15 V. With two of the three at 15 V, plan the charging system to stay at or below it, and ask us before pairing the amplifier with a high-voltage set-up.

The other voltage figure is the 12 V rating: 3,900 W, or 1,600 W less than at 14.4 V. Only the 2.5K PRO gives up a larger share. This amplifier wants a supply held near 14.4 V but not pushed past 15 V, so regulation matters as much as alternator size.

Electrical demand: about 423 A by Deaf Bonce's rule

By the rule in Deaf Bonce's Atom Plus manual (power divided by 13 V; 1,000 W needs 77 A), 5,500 W calls for about 423 A at full output, before amplifier losses. That is far beyond what factory charging systems are built to supply. The Atom Plus manual's advice for bigger amplifiers is a more powerful alternator plus an additional battery; at this level, most builds need a high-output alternator and a bank of batteries.

The power terminal takes full-size 0 AWG cable, such as Tchernov's 0 AWG power cable. Use matching cable for the big three, fit the main fuse within 40 cm of the battery as the manual instructs, and fuse every battery-to-battery link at both ends. No fuse rating is printed, so the cable sets it.

Filters back to bass-only

After the 80 Hz–20 kHz low-pass of the 2.5K and 3.5K PRO, the 5.5K PRO returns to a bass-only set: a 40–250 Hz low-pass and a 10–50 Hz subsonic at 12 dB per octave, with a published response of 10–250 Hz. That lets you set the subwoofer crossover on the amplifier itself. The manual lists a bass boost of up to 12 dB from 35 to 90 Hz, RCA inputs (0.2–6 V), an RCA output and a bass remote. Its 82 dB signal-to-noise figure is the lowest published for the Atom PRO models we sell, which rarely matters for bass in an SPL car.

Wiring four subwoofers to 1 Ω

Four dual 2 Ω subs make a tidy 1 Ω load: wire each sub's coils in series for 4 Ω, then all four subs in parallel. Four Apocalypse SA272 D2s (1,500 W each) wired this way get about 1,375 W apiece. Four SA302 D2s (2,000 W each) get the same 1,375 W, with more headroom.

Two dual 2 Ω subs can't present 1 Ω between them. A pair of 3012R or 3015R subs (2,800 W each) wired to 2 Ω would get about 1,425 W each, half their rating: safe, but it leaves the amplifier's 1 Ω output unused.

What owners and reviewers say about the Deaf Bonce Atom 5.5K PRO

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews or independent tests of the 5.5K PRO that we could read. The product page and manual come from Deaf Bonce itself and cover specifications, not long-term experience.

Large retailer sites and car-audio forums weren't accessible to us, so there's nothing reliable to summarise yet. If you run one, we'd value your report.

Atom 5.5K PRO vs ASA-2000.2, 3.5K PRO and 7.5K PRO

The two-channel Apocalypse ASA-2000.2 (₹94,990) costs ₹5,000 more. At 1 Ω the 5.5K PRO leads, with 5,500 W into one channel against 2,000 W per channel. Bridged into 2 Ω, though, the ASA gives 4,000 W against the Atom's 2,850 W, and 2,980 W into 4 Ω against 1,710 W. It also lists 9–16 V and a 95 dB signal-to-noise ratio, but it's larger, at 407 x 240 x 64 mm.

Against the Atom 3.5K PRO (₹69,990), the 5.5K adds 2,000 W at 1 Ω and 1,000 W at 12 V for ₹20,000 more. The Atom 7.5K PRO (₹1,19,990) adds another 2,000 W at 1 Ω and holds 5,810 W at 12 V.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the 5.5K PRO if you're building a four-sub 1 Ω system, have a charging system and battery bank to match, and can keep the supply at or under 15 V.

Look elsewhere if your load will be 2 Ω or 4 Ω, where a bridged ASA-2000.2 makes more, or if your planned charging system will run above 15 V.

Installation notes for Indian cars

At 289 x 220 x 66 mm and 4.45 kg packed, it needs a rigid mounting board and open air around it; the manual lists overheating among the causes of protection at high volume. Boots in Delhi summers get very hot and dusty, so leave space, clean the heatsink regularly, and secure the battery bank and four-sub enclosure against braking and rough roads.

Output like this belongs in private spaces and organised events, not on public roads. India's noise rules restrict amplified sound in public places, more strictly at night and near hospitals, schools and courts, and prolonged exposure at these levels harms hearing. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad can design the electrical system, build custom boxes for your subs and install it.

The bottom line

The 5.5K PRO suits a four-sub 1 Ω system and brings back bass-only filters you can use directly. Its voltage figures need care: 3,900 W at 12 V and a listed 15 V ceiling call for a strong, well-regulated charging system. No owner reviews have appeared yet.

Deaf Bonce Atom 5.5K PRO FAQ

What voltage does the Deaf Bonce Atom 5.5K PRO need?

Deaf Bonce's product page lists 9 to 15 V for the 5.5K PRO, and the shared manual's troubleshooting section also says 9 to 15 V, although its specification table says 9 to 16 V. Keep the system at or below 15 V, and expect output to fall to 3,900 W at 12 V.

How do I wire four subwoofers to the 5.5K PRO?

Use four dual 2-ohm subs: wire each sub's two coils in series for 4 ohms, then connect all four subs in parallel for 1 ohm. Each then receives about 1,375 W, which suits subs such as the Apocalypse SA272 D2.

Is the 5.5K PRO better than the ASA-2000.2?

It depends on the load. At 1 ohm the 5.5K PRO gives 5,500 W into one channel, against 2,000 W per channel. Bridged into 2 ohms, the ASA-2000.2 gives 4,000 W, more than the 5.5K PRO's 2,850 W at that load.
