DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire Review: 4 GA 100 ft and 8 GA 250 ft Rolls
The DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire is a flexible power and ground cable sold by the roll, with copper-clad aluminium (CCA) conductors, not pure copper. We list two: the PW-4GA-100RD, a red 4 GA roll of 100 ft (30.5 m), and the PW-8GA-250BK, a black 8 GA roll of 250 ft (76.2 m). Each has an India MRP of ₹11,990. DS18 publishes no current rating, cross-section or outer diameter for either roll, so the wire suits fitters who cut their own runs and size the gauge from the amplifier's own figures. Start with the PW-4GA-100RD listing.

Quick summary
Two CCA rolls: 4 GA in red, 100 ft (30.5 m), and 8 GA in black, 250 ft (76.2 m), both at ₹11,990 MRP.
CCA is an aluminium core with a copper layer. DS18 says it combines the conductivity of copper with the lightness of aluminium, a maker claim.
No current rating, cross-section or outer diameter is published, and our two rolls differ in gauge and colour, so they are not a matching red and black pair.
Neither DS18 page shows customer reviews. The nearest feedback is the maker's store reviews of DS18's AMPKIT4 kit, which is a different product.

Figures follow DS18's pages for the 4 GA roll and the 8 GA roll, which are the maker's own marketing, and they match our listings. DS18 also makes other colours, but we list only these two. Our listings say DS18's warranty applies where DS18 offers one, so confirm India terms with us.
What copper-clad aluminium means for a power wire
As general wire practice, a CCA cable of a given gauge has more resistance than pure copper of the same gauge, so over the same length and current it loses more voltage as heat. DS18 also sells kits with 100% oxygen-free copper power and ground cables, covered in our DS18 OFCKIT review, and CCA kits, covered in our DS18 AMPKIT review.
The American Standard line on DS18's pages does not name AWG. For comparison, Tchernov's cables (see our 4 AWG and 8 AWG posts) list 21.50 mm² and 8.50 mm², and our AMPKIT4 listing quotes 21 mm² for its own CCA cable. DS18 gives no such figure for the 4 GA roll, so do not assume it matches.
Choosing between the 4 GA and 8 GA rolls
The two rolls share one MRP, so the choice is gauge and length. The 4 GA roll is the thicker wire, at 30.5 m. The 8 GA roll is thinner but gives 76.2 m, which helps if you are cutting several runs from one roll.
With no rating from DS18, take the sizing from the amplifier. DS18's G-series amplifier manual says to use 4 gauge or larger automotive grade wire when the distance from the battery to the amplifier is excessive. Its spec pages list a 4 GA power input terminal and an external 120 A fuse for the DS18 G3600.1D, rated 500, 900 and 1,200 W RMS at 4, 2 and 1 ohm (its 3,600 W figure is peak). The DS18 G1000.4D also has a 4 GA terminal, with 2 x 25 A fuses and 4 x 90 W RMS at 4 ohm (1,000 W is its maximum figure). The manual prints no supply voltage for these ratings.
DS18's CCA kits do state a rating, but those are kit ratings and not roll ratings. In our listings the 4 GA AMPKIT4 has a 120 A Mini-ANL fuse and is rated up to 1,680 W RMS, and the 8 GA AMPKIT8 has a 60 A Mini-ANL fuse and is rated up to 840 W RMS. No supply voltage or test conditions are printed.
What owners and reviewers say about the DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire
When we checked in October 2026, neither DS18 page for these rolls showed a customer review, and we found no independent reviews we could read. There is no owner verdict on the rolls themselves.
The nearest feedback is related, not direct. DS18's shop page for the AMPKIT4 kit covers the 4 GA CCA kit and not these rolls, and it is the maker's own store. It shows 13 reviews, all in the top row of the star breakdown, with five displayed. Two of those five seem to be about speakers and one is a placeholder, leaving two about the kit: one praises the quality of the material, says it works well and calls it a great purchase, and the other says it worked perfectly with their amplifier. If you have used either roll, tell us how it went.
The rolls beside the kits and copper cables
A kit is the simpler purchase for one amplifier, because the AMPKIT listings include a fuse holder, loom tube, rubber grommet and terminals as well as the cable. A roll makes sense when you need your own lengths or several runs, and its listing describes the wire only.
For pure copper, the OFCKIT kits use 100% oxygen-free copper power and ground cables. Tchernov's cables publish their cross-sections, though their pages name the conductor only as BRC. We compare no prices, because Tchernov's MRPs cover spools of unstated length.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire if you want to cut your own runs from a flexible roll, accept a CCA conductor, and will size the gauge from the amplifier's manual and fuse.
Look elsewhere if you want pure copper, a published current rating or cross-section, or a ready-made run with fuse holder and terminals. Also look elsewhere if you need a red and black pair in one gauge, since our two rolls differ in both.
Installation notes for Indian cars
DS18's amplifier manual, which covers its amplifiers and not this wire, gives rules worth following whichever wire you use. Fit an in-line fuse or circuit breaker within 18 inches (about 46 cm) of the battery, use wire grommets wherever the cable passes through the firewall or other metal, and disconnect the battery ground before making power connections, fitting the fuse last. Keep the cable away from sharp edges, hot objects and moving parts.
Our own additions: the listings show no terminals, fuse holder or loom, so buy those separately and use correctly sized lugs. Loom the cable where it passes near heat. Keep the ground short and the same gauge as the power cable, and keep the RCA run away from it (our DS18 Level 2 RCA Cable review covers lengths). VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.
Price and where to buy
Both rolls carry an India MRP of ₹11,990: the 4 GA, 100 ft PW-4GA-100RD and the 8 GA, 250 ft PW-8GA-250BK. We often sell below MRP, so check the current price on each page. Our listings describe both as genuine DS18 products.

The bottom line
The DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire is a flexible CCA roll in two gauges at one MRP. DS18 prints no rating, cross-section or outer diameter, and the feedback we found belongs to a kit, not the rolls. Size from your amplifier's manual and fuse, and fit the fuse near the battery.
DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire FAQ
Is the DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire pure copper?
No. The conductor is CCA, copper-clad aluminium, which DS18 describes as combining the conductivity of copper with the lightness of aluminium. The OFCKIT kits we list use 100% oxygen-free copper power and ground cables.
Which DS18 CCA Power and Ground Wire roll do I need, 4 GA or 8 GA?
DS18 publishes no rating for either roll, so size from your amplifier's manual and fuse. DS18's G3600.1D and G1000.4D both list a 4 GA power terminal. The 4 GA roll is 30.5 m and the 8 GA roll is 76.2 m.
Can one roll serve as both power and ground?
DS18 lists both rolls as power and ground cable. Use the same gauge for the ground as for the power cable and keep it short. Each roll is a single colour here, red 4 GA or black 8 GA, so a red and black pair in one gauge needs two rolls of that gauge.
