Onkyo X-GRLS2 Review: Spot-Beam Grille Lights, 100 W and 3000K / 6000K
The Onkyo X-GRLS2 is an LED grille projector light set with a spot beam, rated at 100 W per set and listed at 6000 lm in our store, with 3000K / 6000K light, IP68 protection and a 9 to 32 V supply range. The India MRP is ₹9,990, the lowest of the three Onkyo grille lights we list, ₹3,000 below the 110 W X-GRLS3 and ₹12,000 below the 240 W X-GRLW5. It suits a buyer who wants a spot-beam light for the grille position and will take aim, wiring and local rules seriously. See the X-GRLS2 product page in our store.

Quick summary
A spot-beam LED grille projector light set: 100 W per set, 6000 lm, 3000K / 6000K, IP68 and 9 to 32 V.
Neither our listing nor Onkyo's page says how the two colour temperatures are selected or how many lamps make up a set.
At ₹9,990 it is the lowest-priced of our three Onkyo grille lights; the X-GRLS3 adds 10 W for ₹3,000 more.
We found no owner reviews or tests of this model in October 2026.

Wattage, beam pattern, voltage, protection rating, colour temperature, body material, lifespan and working temperature match Onkyo's X-GRLS2 page, which calls the colour setting a 3000K / 6000K Combo. The lumen figure appears only in our listing; Onkyo's page does not carry it.
What a spot beam means for a grille light
Both our listing and Onkyo's page give the beam pattern as a spot. A spot gathers the light into a narrow cone instead of spreading it wide, so it can reach further ahead for a given output, and a lamp that is aimed badly is more likely to dazzle other drivers. Neither source gives a beam angle, a lux figure or a throw distance, so we cannot say how far this set reaches. The 6000 lm figure is a total, and it says nothing about where the light lands.
Onkyo files the X-GRLS2 under grille lights, a separate group from its six fog projectors, and neither source describes an intended use. Decide where and when it may be switched on only after checking the local rules.
Two colour temperatures, and the switching question
3000K is a warm, yellowish white and 6000K is a cool white. Onkyo's page calls the pair a Combo and our listing gives them as 3000K / 6000K, but neither explains how one is chosen: a switch, a controller, separate wires or a pair of lamps in different colours. Whether both can run together, and whether the 100 W rating applies in each colour, are also unstated.
The wiring depends on those answers, so settle them before you buy a switch or run a cable. Rules on lamp colour differ from place to place, which is one more reason to read the current local rules before choosing a colour for road use.
Power, wiring and heat
Divide 100 W by 12 V and the set would draw about 8.3 A; from a 24 V supply it would draw about 4.2 A. These are our arithmetic and not published ratings. The 9 to 32 V range covers both system voltages. Because the number of lamps in a set is not listed, the load per lamp is unknown. Use a fuse and a relay sized to the whole set, with cable to match, instead of tapping a lighting circuit that was built for something else.
A grille gets airflow while the car moves but little while it idles in traffic, and the listing does not describe the cooling design. Leave space around the body and keep wiring and plastic trim clear of it. IP68 covers the light, not the joints you make, so seal every connector.
What owners and reviewers say about the Onkyo X-GRLS2
We found no owner reviews or independent tests of the Onkyo X-GRLS2 when we checked in October 2026. Our listing has no customer reviews, Onkyo's page is a specification list, which is promotional, and searches by model number turned up nothing relevant. Amazon, Flipkart and YouTube could not be searched with our tools, so reviews may exist there.
The nearest material is a 2021 page of Team-BHP's auto lighting thread, which does not mention Onkyo or grille lights. A member there asked whether auxiliary lights with high and low beams need an SPDT or DPDT switch, and no reply appears on that page. It is a fair question for any two-mode light, and ours has the same gap: the listing does not say how the X-GRLS2 changes colour. If you own one, tell us how it is wired and switched.
X-GRLS2 against the X-GRLS3 and X-GRLW5
Listed figure | X-GRLS2 | X-GRLS3 | X-GRLW5 |
|---|---|---|---|
India MRP | ₹9,990 | ₹12,990 | ₹21,990 |
Power per set | 100 W | 110 W | 240 W |
Light output | 6000 lm | 6000 lm | 6000 lm |
Beam pattern | Spot | Spot | Not listed |
Colour temperature | 3000K / 6000K | 3000K / 6000K | 3000K / 6000K |
Protection | IP68 | IP68 | IP68 |
Lifespan | 50,000 hours | 50,000 hours | Not listed |
The X-GRLS3 lists 10 W more and the same 6000 lm for ₹3,000 more, so on paper the extra money buys a higher rating and nothing else the listings show. The X-GRLW5 lists 240 W and the same 6000 lm at ₹21,990, and its listing gives no beam pattern, body or lifespan. All three list the same 9 to 32 V range and IP68.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the X-GRLS2 if you want a spot-beam grille light at the lowest Onkyo MRP we list, you are content with a listing that omits the lamp count and the colour-switching method, and you will aim it so that it does not dazzle other drivers.
Look elsewhere if you want a flat cut-off beam, as listed for Onkyo's fog projectors such as the X-FLAF9, or you need to know the beam angle, throw distance or lamp count before spending money. This light lists none of those.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Look at the grille from the front and behind before you order. You need room for the lights, a way to fix them that does not block airflow behind the grille, and a safe route for the cable. The listing mentions no brackets, harness or dimensions, so ask us to check fitment. Our listing also says that all sales are final, which makes that check worth doing first.
Dust, mud and stone chips reach the grille on Indian roads, so choose a position where the lenses are shielded and the mounts will not loosen over speed breakers. Aim the beams low, check them against a wall at night, and keep them off whenever they could dazzle oncoming traffic. Local rules on additional lamps differ, and neither Onkyo's page nor our listing makes any approval statement. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.
Onkyo X-GRLS2 price and where to buy
The Onkyo X-GRLS2 has an India MRP of ₹9,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's price on the X-GRLS2 listing, which describes the set as a genuine Onkyo product. Warranty terms and duration are set by Onkyo, so confirm them with us before ordering. Onkyo's X-WL711 and X-WL721 work lights are also in our store.
The bottom line
The X-GRLS2 is the entry point to Onkyo's grille lights: a spot-beam, 100 W, 6000 lm set with two colour temperatures for ₹9,990. Its listing leaves open the lamp count, the switching and every beam measurement, and we found no owner reports to fill the gap. Settle those questions, wire the whole set through a fused relay and aim it with care.
Onkyo X-GRLS2 FAQ
What does a spot beam mean for the Onkyo X-GRLS2?
Our listing and Onkyo's page both give a spot beam, which concentrates light in a narrow cone. Neither gives a beam angle, lux figure or distance, so aim matters more than the 6000 lm headline: a badly aimed spot can dazzle other drivers.
How are the two colour temperatures on the X-GRLS2 selected?
Neither source says. They list 3000K / 6000K, and Onkyo's page calls it a Combo, but there is no word on a switch, a controller or separate lamps, so settle that before you plan the wiring.
What is the difference between the X-GRLS2 and the X-GRLS3?
The X-GRLS3 lists 110 W against 100 W and costs ₹12,990 against ₹9,990. Both list a spot beam, 6000 lm, 3000K / 6000K, IP68 and 9 to 32 V, so the listings show a higher rating and no other difference.
