Onkyo X-GRLS3 Review: 110 W Spot-Beam Grille Lights and the 6000 lm Question
The Onkyo X-GRLS3 is an LED grille projector light set with a spot beam, rated at 110 W per set and listed at 6000 lm in our store, with 3000K / 6000K light, IP68 protection and a 9 to 32 V supply range. The India MRP is ₹12,990, which is ₹3,000 above the 100 W X-GRLS2 and ₹9,000 below the 240 W X-GRLW5. It suits a buyer who has settled on a spot-beam grille light and wants the higher-rated of Onkyo's two spot-beam grille lights. See the X-GRLS3 product page in our store.

Quick summary
A spot-beam LED grille projector light set: 110 W per set, 6000 lm, 3000K / 6000K, IP68 and 9 to 32 V.
The X-GRLS2 lists the same 6000 lm at 100 W, so the extra 10 W is not matched by a higher lumen figure.
The ₹3,000 premium over the X-GRLS2 buys 10 W of rating and, on the listings, no other difference we can find.
We found no owner reviews or tests of this model in October 2026.

Wattage, beam pattern, voltage, protection rating, colour temperature, body material, lifespan and working temperature match Onkyo's X-GRLS3 page, which calls the colour setting a 3000K / 6000K Combo. The lumen figure appears only in our listing, and neither source gives the number of lamps in a set.
Watts are not lumens: 100 W, 110 W and 240 W at 6000 lm
The three Onkyo grille lights in our store list 100 W, 110 W and 240 W, yet each lists 6000 lm. On these listings, then, wattage tells you little about brightness. Wattage is the electrical rating of the set, the lumen figure is a claim about total light output, and neither says where the light is sent. Our listing does not explain what the 6000 lm covers, whether one lamp or the whole set, or which colour setting it describes.
The fair reading is that the X-GRLS3 is rated 10 W higher than the X-GRLS2 and that no source shows it is brighter. A buyer who wants more light on the road should look for beam angle or lux data, and neither source supplies it.
Aiming a spot beam
A spot beam throws a narrow, intense cone, so aim is most of the job. Park on level ground facing a wall, with the car loaded as you usually drive it. Mark the height of each light's centre on the wall, switch the lights on in the dark and adjust each one until its brightest patch sits at or below that mark. In fog, heavy rain or dust, light thrown far ahead can reflect back at the driver, so do not count on a spot beam in those conditions.
Recheck the aim after the first few weeks, because mounts settle and speed breakers knock lights out of line. Local rules on additional lamps differ, so read the current ones for your area; neither our listing nor Onkyo's page makes any approval statement.
Power, wiring and heat
Dividing 110 W by 12 V gives about 9.2 A, and by 24 V about 4.6 A, which is our arithmetic and not a published rating. Because the lamp count is not listed, size the cable for the whole set and not per lamp. Put a fuse near the supply, switch the lights through a relay, and keep the switch where the driver can reach it.
A grille sees airflow at speed but not while idling, and the listing does not describe the cooling design. Keep plastic trim and wiring off the body, and seal every connector, since IP68 covers the light and not your joints.
Colour temperature: the same open questions as the X-GRLS2
Like its sibling, this set is listed at 3000K / 6000K and called a Combo on Onkyo's page. Neither source says how the colour is selected or whether both can run together. We go through the question in our X-GRLS2 post, and the answer should be settled before you plan the switch and the cable.
What owners and reviewers say about the Onkyo X-GRLS3
We found no owner reviews or independent tests of the Onkyo X-GRLS3 when we checked in October 2026. Our listing has no customer reviews, Onkyo's page is a specification list, which is promotional, and searches by model number returned nothing relevant. Amazon, Flipkart and YouTube could not be searched with our tools, so reviews may exist there.
If you own an X-GRLS3, these are the details we would most like to hear: how many lamps came in the set, how the colours are selected, how the beam looks on the road at night, how long fitting took and how the lights have coped with monsoon water and dust.
X-GRLS3 against the X-GRLS2
Listed figure | X-GRLS3 | X-GRLS2 |
|---|---|---|
India MRP | ₹12,990 | ₹9,990 |
Power per set | 110 W | 100 W |
Light output | 6000 lm | 6000 lm |
Beam pattern | Spot | Spot |
Colour temperature | 3000K / 6000K | 3000K / 6000K |
Body | 6063 aluminium | 6063 aluminium |
Lifespan | 50,000 hours | 50,000 hours |
The X-GRLS2 is ₹3,000 cheaper and rated 10 W lower, and every other listed figure matches. If the X-GRLS3 differs in something the listings omit, such as size, lens or lamp count, neither source says so. At the other end of the range, the X-GRLW5 lists 240 W and the same 6000 lm at ₹21,990, with no beam pattern, body or lifespan given.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy the X-GRLS3 if you want a spot-beam grille light, prefer the higher 110 W rating, and accept that the listings show no other gain over the X-GRLS2.
Look elsewhere if you only need a spot-beam grille light at the lowest MRP, since the X-GRLS2 lists the same lumens, or you want a flat cut-off beam, as listed for Onkyo's fog projectors such as the X-FLAF9.
Installation notes for Indian cars
Find out where the lights will sit and how they will be fixed before you order. The listing mentions no brackets, harness or dimensions, so ask us to check fitment. Our listing also says that all sales are final. Choose a position that shields the lenses from stones and mud, keeps clear of the airflow the engine needs, and lets you reach the aim adjustment later. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation.
Onkyo X-GRLS3 price and where to buy
The Onkyo X-GRLS3 has an India MRP of ₹12,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's price on the X-GRLS3 listing, which describes the set as a genuine Onkyo product. Warranty terms and duration are set by Onkyo, so confirm them with us before ordering. Our store also lists Onkyo's X-E850 and X-E1200 LED headlight bulbs.
The bottom line
The X-GRLS3 is the higher-rated of Onkyo's two spot-beam grille lights, at 110 W and ₹12,990, but its listing shows the same 6000 lm as the 100 W X-GRLS2. Nothing published says it is brighter, and no owner report fills that gap. Buy it for the rating if the rating matters to you, wire it with a fused relay and spend the time on aim.
Onkyo X-GRLS3 FAQ
Is the Onkyo X-GRLS3 brighter than the X-GRLS2?
The listings show the same 6000 lm for both, with 110 W against 100 W. Neither source gives a beam angle or lux figure, so the published data cannot show that the X-GRLS3 is brighter.
How much current does the X-GRLS3 draw?
Neither source gives a current figure. Dividing the 110 W rating by 12 V gives about 9.2 A, and by 24 V about 4.6 A, which is our arithmetic. Use it only as a starting point for the fuse, relay and cable.
How do I aim a spot-beam grille light?
Park on level ground facing a wall, mark each light's centre height, and adjust the beam in the dark until its brightest patch sits at or below that mark. Keep it clear of other drivers' eyes and recheck after a few weeks.
