Morel MDSP BT Review: Bluetooth Streaming and App Tuning for Full-Size MDSP Amps
The Morel MDSP BT is the plug-in Bluetooth module for Morel's full-size MDSP DSP amplifiers: the MDSP 8/4A, 8/6A and 10/8A. Morel's installation manual says the amplifier's external Bluetooth connector enables Bluetooth audio streaming or wireless tuning via a mobile app, and it lists Bluetooth 5 with aptX HD for MDSP streaming. The Indian MRP is ₹14,990, roughly a quarter of the MDSP 8/4A's ₹59,990, and it does nothing on its own: it only makes sense alongside one of those three amplifiers. It suits owners who want a phone to feed the DSP directly, or who would rather adjust settings from the driver's seat than with a laptop on their knees. See it on our Morel MDSP BT product page.

Quick summary
Adds Bluetooth to the MDSP 8/4A, 8/6A and 10/8A. The smaller MDSP 6/4A has Bluetooth built in and doesn't need it.
Morel lists two jobs for the connector it plugs into: audio streaming (Bluetooth 5, aptX HD) and wireless tuning through a mobile app.
Once a phone is paired, the amplifier switches to Bluetooth by itself when playback starts, whatever source was playing.
Range, other codecs and the app's controls aren't given in the manual pages we read, and we found no owner reviews when we checked in October 2026.

Figures come from Morel's MDSP Series installation manual (we read the copy hosted on ManualsLib, as Morel's own site wasn't loading) and our store listing. The size comes from UK and Australian retailer listings, because the manual pages we read don't give one.
What the module adds to a full-size MDSP
A full-size MDSP already accepts plenty of sources. The manual lists speaker-level inputs for a factory head unit, one pair of RCA inputs rated up to 2 volts, an optical input, and a USB OTG port that takes stereo PCM audio up to 96 kHz/24-bit. The one thing missing out of the box is Bluetooth: Morel describes the module as an optional purchase that is needed to stream audio on these three models.
Streaming through the module lets the phone talk to the DSP directly. In a car that keeps its factory touchscreen, phone audio otherwise passes through the head unit's processing and amplifier before reaching the MDSP's speaker-level inputs.
The second job is tuning. Morel's wording is streaming or wireless tuning via a mobile app; the pages we read don't name the app or say whether both can run at once. The USB port, listed for DSP tuning and firmware updates, remains the wired route for the main tune. Our guide on setting up a DSP in your car audio system explains what that tuning involves.
Auto-switching: handy, with one catch
The manual says that once a phone is paired, the system switches to the Bluetooth input as soon as playback begins, regardless of the active source. The optional DRC remote is the other way to pick inputs; Morel says it adjusts system volume, subwoofer level, source and presets from the listening position.
The catch applies if the same phone also connects to your factory head unit. A stream that starts on the module will take over from whatever the amplifier was playing, so decide which device the phone should send music to before you pair it with both.
Which MDSP amplifiers need it
Morel's manual and our listing agree on three models. The MDSP 8/4A is a four-channel Class-D unit rated at 80 W RMS x 4 into 4 ohms. The MDSP 8/6A has six channels, and the MDSP 10/8A has eight. All three list Bluetooth only with this module.
If you link two full-size amplifiers with the Morel MDSP TL TuneLink cable, the manual says all digital inputs, Bluetooth included, are shared between both units. That suggests one module can serve a linked pair, but confirm your layout with us before ordering a second.
Bluetooth quality: where it fits
All Bluetooth audio is compressed. aptX HD is one of the higher-resolution codecs and is common on Android phones, but it isn't lossless, and iPhones don't support aptX at all. For critical listening, the USB and optical inputs are the better path; treat Bluetooth as the everyday source for streaming apps and passengers' playlists.
What owners and reviewers say about the Morel MDSP BT
We found no owner or professional reviews of this module when we checked in October 2026. Listings at Celsus ICE in the UK and Frankies Auto Electrics in Australia carry descriptions but no customer reviews, and our searches turned up no forum threads about it.
What can be checked is Morel's own documentation, which is promotional by nature: Bluetooth 5 with aptX HD, described as near-CD sound, plus automatic input switching. If you run the module with an MDSP amplifier, we'd welcome your experience of range and reliability.
MDSP BT or the MDSP 6/4A's built-in Bluetooth?
If Bluetooth is the deciding feature and your power needs are modest, the MDSP 6/4A (₹19,990 MRP) has it built in. It is a Class-AB amplifier rated at 25 W RMS x 4, and Morel's manual says it works as a standalone unit that can't be linked to another MDSP. An MDSP 8/4A plus this module comes to ₹74,980 at MRP, and buys 80 W RMS x 4 in Class-D and the option of linking a second full-size unit later.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
It makes sense if you own or are buying an MDSP 8/4A, 8/6A or 10/8A and stream from your phone, if you want passengers to play music without touching the factory touchscreen, or if you'd like to make small tuning changes wirelessly.
Skip it if you have an MDSP 6/4A, since its Bluetooth is built in. It's also unnecessary if your factory head unit already handles phone audio and feeds the MDSP through its speaker-level inputs to your satisfaction, or if most of your music is stored files that the USB input can play at higher quality.
Installation notes for Indian cars
MDSP amplifiers often end up under a seat, behind boot trim or in a false floor, surrounded by metal that can shorten Bluetooth range. Morel doesn't publish the module's range, so test pairing from the front seats before the trim goes back on. The module is slim, which helps when space is tight, but keep it away from amplifier heat and from a boot floor that bakes in the May sun.
VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad installs MDSP amplifiers and offers DSP tuning, so the module can be fitted and paired as part of the same job.
Price and where to buy
The Morel MDSP BT carries an MRP of ₹14,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check today's offer on the MDSP BT product page. Everything we sell is a genuine Morel product.
The bottom line
The Morel MDSP BT is Morel's own route to Bluetooth on a full-size MDSP amplifier, with two useful jobs: direct aptX HD streaming and wireless tuning. The gaps are unpublished range and codec details and no owner feedback yet. If you stream from a phone and run an 8/4A, 8/6A or 10/8A, it belongs on the order; with a 6/4A, it doesn't.
Morel MDSP BT FAQ
Does the MDSP 6/4A need the Morel MDSP BT?
No. Morel's manual says the MDSP 6/4A has Bluetooth built in. The module is for the full-size MDSP 8/4A, 8/6A and 10/8A, which need it to stream audio.
Can I tune an MDSP amplifier from my phone with this module?
Morel's manual says the external Bluetooth connector enables Bluetooth audio streaming or wireless tuning via a mobile app. The pages we read don't name the app or list its controls, so ask us what it covers for your amplifier.
Will an iPhone stream music through it?
It should. Morel lists aptX HD, which iPhones don't support, but Bluetooth audio devices also handle the basic SBC codec. Morel doesn't say whether AAC is supported, so iPhone users shouldn't expect aptX HD quality.
Do two linked MDSP amplifiers need two modules?
The manual says that when two full-size units are joined with TuneLink, all digital inputs, Bluetooth included, are shared between both amplifiers. That suggests one module serves the pair, but confirm your layout with us before ordering.
