Morel MDSP TL Review: The TuneLink Cable for Two Full-Size MDSP Amplifiers

Oct 7
5 min read

The Morel MDSP TL is the TuneLink cable that joins two of Morel's full-size MDSP DSP amplifiers so a single computer can tune both at once, in one software window. Morel's manual limits it to the MDSP 10/8A, 8/6A and 8/4A, allows two amplifiers per link, and warns that the cable is directional. Its Indian MRP is ₹9,990. It is a niche part: you only need it when one MDSP doesn't give you enough channels and you add a second full-size unit. You can find it on our Morel MDSP TL product page.

Morel MDSP TL TuneLink cable for linking two MDSP amplifiers

Quick summary

  • Links two full-size MDSP amplifiers (10/8A, 8/6A or 8/4A) for simultaneous tuning from one computer.

  • Not for the MDSP 6/4A, which Morel's manual describes as a standalone unit that can't take additional MDSP units.

  • Once linked, the two amplifiers share their digital inputs (optical, USB audio and Bluetooth) and change source and preset together.

  • The cable is directional, its length isn't published, and we found no owner reviews when we checked in October 2026.

Details come from Morel's MDSP Series installation manual, which we read in the copy hosted on ManualsLib because Morel's own site wasn't loading, and from our store listing.

What TuneLink actually does

Each full-size MDSP has its own USB port for tuning, and a big system can outgrow one amplifier's channels. The manual's description of the TuneLink connector is short: a cable that connects two MDSP amplifiers to enable simultaneous tuning of both within a single software window. Elsewhere it calls this the ability to link two units so that a single computer can tune both.

In practice that matters when a front stage, rear fill and subwoofers are spread across two amplifiers. Time alignment, crossovers and levels all interact, so adjusting every output from one session, rather than connecting to each amplifier in turn, makes a two-amplifier tune far easier to manage. Our guide on how to set up a DSP in your car audio system covers those steps.

Shared sources and synced presets

The link isn't only for the tuning session. According to the manual, once two units are connected, all digital input signals are shared between both amplifiers, including optical, USB audio and Bluetooth, and source selection and preset changes are synchronised across both.

That has a practical upside. A phone streaming through a single Morel MDSP BT module, or a digital feed into one optical input, reaches both amplifiers, and switching presets doesn't leave one unit on the old setting.

Which amplifiers it links, and the two-unit limit

The three compatible models are the MDSP 8/4A (four amplified channels), the MDSP 8/6A (six) and the MDSP 10/8A (eight). The manual's TuneLink connector entry names these three only, and our listing agrees.

The MDSP 6/4A is excluded: the manual describes it as a standalone system without the ability to add additional MDSP units. And the limit is two: the manual says only two amplifiers in total can be connected via TuneLink. For a third amplifier, Morel points to the MDSP's low-level RCA outputs, which carry a fully DSP-processed signal.

What owners and reviewers say about the Morel MDSP TL

We found no owner or professional reviews of this cable when we checked in October 2026, which isn't surprising for a link used only in two-amplifier builds. Retailer listings are worth reading with care. Frankies Auto Electrics in Australia describes it only as a short cable and refers buyers to the packaging for the length. Thomas Performance in the UK says it works with the 6/4A as well, which contradicts Morel's manual, so go by the manual. If you run two linked MDSP amplifiers, we'd like to hear how the setup went.

TuneLink or RCA: two ways to add an amplifier

The two routes do different jobs. TuneLink joins two full-size MDSP units into one tuning session with shared digital sources. The RCA outputs feed any further amplifier, MDSP or not, with an already-processed signal, which is how Morel suggests going beyond two units.

A typical example is a separate monoblock for subwoofers fed from an MDSP's RCA output, such as the Morel MPS 1.1100 Limited, whose manual says it accepts low-level signals through RCA connectors. In that layout, the DSP work happens in the MDSP and the extra amplifier simply amplifies, so no TuneLink is involved.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy it if you're running, or planning, two full-size MDSP amplifiers and want to tune them together and share one set of digital sources.

Skip it if you have a single MDSP, or an MDSP 6/4A, which can't be linked. It also isn't the tool for a third amplifier; that one hangs off the RCA outputs.

Installation notes for Indian cars

Because the length isn't published and Frankies calls it short, plan to mount the two amplifiers side by side or stacked, and confirm the cable reaches before drilling. Mark which unit is the server and which is the client, since the manual says the wrong orientation can stop the second amplifier from being recognised in the software, and check that both appear before the trim goes back on.

Two amplifiers in a boot or under the seats also make more heat than one, so leave breathing room around both, particularly in a closed boot during the Indian summer. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad installs MDSP systems and offers DSP tuning, so the link, the mounting and the tune can be handled in one job.

Price and where to buy

The Morel MDSP TL has an MRP of ₹9,990. VA3 Car Studio often sells below MRP, so check the current offer on the MDSP TL product page. Every item we sell is a genuine Morel product.

The bottom line

The Morel MDSP TL has one specific job, clearly documented in Morel's manual: it lets two full-size MDSP amplifiers be tuned from one computer in one window, while sharing digital sources and presets. It won't link a 6/4A or a third unit, and its length is unpublished, so plan the mounting before you buy.

Morel MDSP TL FAQ

Does the Morel MDSP TL work with the MDSP 6/4A?

No. Morel's manual limits TuneLink to the MDSP 10/8A, 8/6A and 8/4A, and describes the 6/4A as a standalone system without the ability to add additional MDSP units.

Can I link three MDSP amplifiers with TuneLink?

No. The manual says only two amplifiers in total can be connected via TuneLink. Further amplifiers can be fed from an MDSP's low-level RCA outputs instead.

Does it matter which way round the cable goes?

Yes. The manual says the TuneLink cable is directional, with one unit acting as server and the other as client, and that the wrong orientation may stop the second amplifier from being recognised in the software.

How long is the MDSP TL cable?

The manual pages we read don't give a length, and one Australian retailer describes it only as a short cable. Plan to mount both amplifiers close together and check the reach before fixing their positions.
