Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 Review: Ultimo Titanium Parts for a 600 W Amplifier

Oct 7
6 min read

The Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 is a 10-inch, 2-ohm subwoofer from Morel's Ultimo Titanium SC line, rated at 600 W RMS and 2,000 W peak, with 86 dB sensitivity and a listed response of 10 Hz to 900 Hz. Its Indian MRP is ₹79,990, the lowest of the Ultimo subs we list and ₹60,000 below the Ultimo Ti 102. It suits buyers who want Morel's Ultimo construction in a conventional box, driven by a mid-power mono amplifier rather than a 1,000 W one. You can see today's offer on our Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 product page.

Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 10-inch 2-ohm car subwoofer

Key takeaways

  • Retailer descriptions give it a titanium voice-coil former, a 5.1-inch Hexatech external coil and a double-magnet ferrite motor, as on the Ultimo Ti.

  • It is rated at 600 W RMS against the Ti 102's 1,000 W, so it suits amplifiers of about 500 W to 600 W into 2 ohms.

  • A US retailer's spec sheet suggests a compact 0.46 cu ft sealed box or a 1.02 cu ft ported one.

  • We found no owner reviews, and the SC suffix isn't explained in any material we could read.

Power, impedance, sensitivity and response come from our store listing; the other rows come from US retailer OnlineCarStereo's spec sheet, because Morel's website returned an error each time we tried it in October 2026. Retailers print the sensitivity differently, from 86 dB to 87 dB at 1 W, so treat that row loosely and measure the driver before cutting a baffle.

What the SC keeps from the Ultimo Ti, and what changes

Morel's description of the Ti SC, as reproduced by UK retailer Celsus ICE, promises audiophile bass quality and high power output at what Morel calls a great consumer value. It lists a titanium former for better dynamics and lower distortion, a 5.1-inch Hexatech external voice coil wound from hexagonal aluminium wire two to three times thicker than standard, a DMM double-magnet ferrite motor at over 90% efficiency, and a hybrid paper and carbon-fibre cone.

Those are the same headline parts that retailers list for the Morel Ultimo Ti 102. The documented differences are the ratings: 600 W RMS and 2,000 W peak against 1,000 W and 3,000 W. The Ti series text also mentions a copper shorting ring and Progression Field Symmetry suspension, which the SC description we read doesn't list. That doesn't mean the SC lacks them; it means we couldn't confirm them. The Thiele-Small figures are close (Fs 27 Hz against 24 Hz, Vas 63.4 litres against 66), so they should suit boxes of broadly similar size.

Box sizes for the Ti SC 102

OnlineCarStereo suggests a sealed box of 0.46 cu ft (about 13 litres) or a ported box of 1.02 cu ft (about 29 litres) with a port 3 inches in diameter and 14.25 inches long. A 13-litre sealed box is compact for a 10-inch; the ported box gives more output near its tuning but takes more than twice the space.

We couldn't confirm these volumes on Morel's own page, so check the manual supplied with the sub before the box is made. VA3 Car Studio builds custom subwoofer enclosures, so we can build to the confirmed volume and shape the box to your boot.

Amplifier pairing: why 550 W fits

A single 2-ohm coil presents 2 ohms, and the Ti SC 102's 600 W RMS rating lines up with two Morel mono amplifiers we sell. Retailer listings give both the Morel MPS 1.550 and the compact MPD 1.500 550 W RMS into 2 ohms. The MPS 1.550 is listed with a 2-ohm minimum, subsonic settings of 25 Hz and 35 Hz, and an optional MPS-R1 remote bass control.

Read rating conditions carefully. The Hertz DP 1.500 is rated at 500 W into 2 ohms at 1% distortion, and 590 W at 10%, so the headline number depends on the test. For two Ti SC 102s, a parallel pair is 1 ohm, below the MPS 1.550's minimum; the Zapco ST-1000XM III is rated at 1,000 W into 1 ohm, about 500 W per sub. Set the gain with a test tone, and expect less output when the voltage sags at idle with the AC on.

What owners and reviewers say about the Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews or press tests of the Ti SC 102. OnlineCarStereo had no customer reviews and lists the model as no longer available, and the Celsus ICE listing had no reviews either. The Ultimo line's EISA award, the 2014-2015 European In-Car Subwoofer title, went to the 10-inch Ultimo Titanium, not to an SC model.

There is no owner consensus to report, and we won't invent one. If you run a Ti SC 102, we'd like to hear what box and amplifier you used and how it has held up.

Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 vs Ti 102, Ti SC 122 and PS 104D

The Ti 102 (₹1,39,990 MRP) adds 400 W of RMS rating for ₹60,000 more, so choose it only if you have a 1,000 W-class amplifier. The Ultimo Ti SC 122 (₹84,990 MRP) is the 12-inch SC with the same 600 W RMS rating, 87 dB sensitivity and larger suggested boxes of 0.71 cu ft sealed or 1.59 cu ft ported.

If mounting depth is your constraint, the Ultimo PS 104D (₹84,990 MRP) is a 10-inch PowerSlim about 80 mm deep, with dual 4-ohm coils, a 700 W RMS rating and Morel's own published boxes. For Morel's Kinetic range, see our Morel Kinetic KS104 review.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the Ti SC 102 if you want an Ultimo-series 10-inch at the lowest Ultimo MRP we list, you have or plan a mono amplifier of about 500 W to 600 W into 2 ohms, and a small sealed box suits your boot.

Look elsewhere if you're running a 1,000 W amplifier (the Ti 102 is rated for it), you need a shallow sub (the PS 104D), or you want long-term owner feedback before buying, which we couldn't find.

Installation notes for Indian cars

At about 137 mm deep, the Ti SC 102 needs a conventional box, but a 13-litre sealed enclosure is easier to place, for example in a boot corner or against a seat back. Secure it so it can't slide on broken roads, and line or seal the box well to avoid rattles.

Run power cable to the amplifier maker's specification, fuse it near the battery, and keep the amplifier ventilated in a hot boot. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, and DSP tuning if the sub needs to blend with upgraded front speakers.

Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 - another view

The bottom line

The Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 is the Ultimo 10-inch for a realistic amplifier: 600 W RMS on a single 2-ohm coil, with the titanium former and large external coil that retailers list for the Ti. Morel's own figures were out of reach and owner feedback is missing, so confirm the box volume from the manual. Paired with a 550 W Morel mono amplifier in a compact sealed box, it makes a coherent system.

Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 FAQ

What does the Morel Ultimo Ti SC 102 share with the Ti 102?

Retailer descriptions give both a titanium voice-coil former, a 5.1-inch Hexatech external coil, a double-magnet ferrite motor and a paper and carbon-fibre cone. The SC is rated at 600 W RMS against 1,000 W, and costs ₹60,000 less at MRP.

Which Morel amplifier suits the Ti SC 102?

Morel's MPS 1.550 and MPD 1.500 are both listed at 550 W RMS into 2 ohms, close to the sub's 600 W RMS rating on its single 2-ohm coil. Set the gain with a test tone rather than by ear.

What box does the Ti SC 102 need?

OnlineCarStereo suggests 0.46 cu ft (about 13 litres) sealed, or 1.02 cu ft (about 29 litres) ported with a 3-inch by 14.25-inch port. We couldn't confirm these with Morel, so check the manual supplied with the sub.
