Morel Ultimo Ti 122 Review: The 12-Inch Ultimo Titanium, Its Box and Its Amp

Oct 7
6 min read

The Morel Ultimo Ti 122 is the 12-inch, 2-ohm model in Morel's Ultimo Titanium line, rated at 1,000 W RMS and 3,000 W peak, with 87 dB sensitivity and a listed response of 10 Hz to 900 Hz. At ₹1,39,990 for the 10-inch and ₹1,49,990 for this 12-inch, the Ultimo Titanium pair are the most expensive Morel subs we list, and the Ti 122 tops the range. It suits owners of SUVs and other roomy cars who want a 12-inch Ultimo, have space for a sizeable box and plan to drive it with a 1,000 W-class mono amplifier. See today's offer on our Morel Ultimo Ti 122 product page.

Morel Ultimo Ti 122 12-inch Ultimo Titanium car subwoofer

Key takeaways

  • The same 1,000 W RMS rating as the 10-inch Ti 102, with slightly higher sensitivity (87 dB against 86.1 dB) and a larger cone.

  • The one box recommendation we found is ported: 1.59 cu ft (about 45 litres) with a 4-inch port, from a US retailer's spec sheet.

  • A single 2-ohm coil means one sub runs at 2 ohms and two subs at 1 ohm in parallel.

  • We found no owner reviews, and Morel's own pages were unreachable when we checked in October 2026.

Power, impedance, sensitivity and response come from our store listing. The construction, Thiele-Small, excursion, depth and cutout rows come from US retailer OnlineCarStereo's spec sheet. Morel's website returned an error each time we tried it, so check critical dimensions against the sub itself.

Ti 122 or Ti 102: what the extra two inches buy

On paper, the two Ultimo Titanium subs we sell share a power rating, a 2-ohm single coil and the series' construction, which Morel describes, in text reproduced by UK retailer Celsus ICE, as a titanium former, copper shorting ring, 5.1-inch external voice coil, dual-magnet motor and Progression Field Symmetry suspension. The differences are size, sensitivity and the box each needs.

The 12-inch cone moves more air for each millimetre of travel, and its listed 87 dB sensitivity is 0.9 dB higher than the 10-inch's. Its 117-litre Vas, against 66 litres for the Ti 102, points to a larger enclosure. You pay ₹10,000 more at MRP for the bigger driver, and you give up more boot space.

The box: one published volume, and how much space it takes

OnlineCarStereo's spec sheet suggests a ported box of 1.59 cu ft (about 45 litres) with a port 4 inches in diameter and 17.84 inches long. It lists no sealed volume, and we couldn't read Morel's own figures, so if you want a sealed box, take the volume from the manual supplied with the sub.

Forty-five litres plus the port is a substantial box. In an SUV or MUV it can sit against the seat back or in a corner of the boot; in a small hatchback it will take a large share of the floor. VA3 Car Studio builds custom subwoofer enclosures, so we can build to the volume you settle on and shape the box to your boot.

Driving it: amplifiers that match 1,000 W at 2 ohms

One Ti 122 presents 2 ohms. The JL Audio RD1000/1 is rated at exactly 1,000 W RMS into 2 ohms at 14.4 V, falling to 800 W at 12.5 V, so its output tracks your charging voltage; JL specifies an 80 A fuse. Morel's MPS 1.1100 Limited is listed at 1,100 W into 2 ohms, slightly above the sub's rating, so keep the gain in check.

For a pair, wire the subs in parallel for 1 ohm. The JL Audio RD1500/1 is rated at 1,500 W into 1 ohm with its Low Z switch set to the 1-ohm position, about 750 W per sub, and calls for a 150 A fuse. Whichever amplifier you choose, set the gain with a test tone, and in a ported box use a subsonic filter where the amplifier has one.

What owners and reviewers say about the Morel Ultimo Ti 122

When we checked in October 2026, we found no owner reviews or press tests of the 12-inch Ti 122. OnlineCarStereo's listing had no customer reviews, and the Celsus ICE page for the series had none either. The Ultimo Titanium's best-known recognition, EISA's 2014-2015 European In-Car Subwoofer award, went to the 10-inch Ultimo Titanium, not this 12-inch, and EISA's list carries no jury text.

So we can't report a consensus on how the Ti 122 sounds or holds up. If you own one, we'd like to hear about your box, your amplifier and how it has performed.

Morel Ultimo Ti 122 vs Ti 102, Ti SC 122 and PS 124D

The Morel Ultimo Ti 102 (₹1,39,990 MRP) is the 10-inch version with the same 1,000 W RMS rating; pick it when boot space matters more than the last bit of output.

The Ultimo Ti SC 122 (₹84,990 MRP) is another 12-inch, 2-ohm sub, rated at 600 W RMS and 2,000 W peak, with a listed Xmax of 9.5 mm against the Ti 122's 12.5 mm. OnlineCarStereo suggests the same 1.59 cu ft ported volume for both, plus 0.71 cu ft sealed for the SC. If your amplifier makes about 600 W into 2 ohms, the SC is the better fit. The Ultimo PS 124D (₹89,990 MRP) is the shallow 12-inch, at 86 mm deep with dual 4-ohm coils and a 700 W RMS rating.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't

Buy the Ti 122 if you want the highest-rated 12-inch among the Morel subs we list, you have room for a box of around 45 litres, and you'll pair it with a 2-ohm amplifier of about 1,000 W.

Look elsewhere if your boot has to carry luggage every day, your amplifier is in the 500 W to 600 W class (choose the Ti SC 122), or you want depth below 100 mm (the PS 124D).

Installation notes for Indian cars

A box this size needs secure mounting: bolt it to the floor or strap it down, because a heavy enclosure that shifts over a speed breaker can do real damage. Seal and brace the box well, since panel flex wastes output.

Run the power cable to the amplifier maker's gauge and fuse it close to the battery, grommet it wherever it passes through metal, and give the amplifier airflow in a hot boot. If your car's voltage already sags at idle with the AC on, expect a 1,000 W amplifier to make that worse. VA3 Car Studio in Ghaziabad offers professional installation, and DSP tuning to blend the sub with the rest of the system.

Morel Ultimo Ti 122 - another view

The bottom line

The Morel Ultimo Ti 122 is the 12-inch end of the Ultimo Titanium line and the most expensive Morel sub we sell: 1,000 W RMS into a single 2-ohm coil, in a box that may need around 45 litres. Its published data is thin, coming mostly from a US retailer's spec sheet, and we found no owner reports. Buy it for a planned high-power build in a car with the space, and confirm the box volume from the manual before the enclosure is made.

Morel Ultimo Ti 122 FAQ

What box does the Morel Ultimo Ti 122 need?

The only recommendation we found is OnlineCarStereo's ported box of 1.59 cu ft (about 45 litres) with a 4-inch by 17.84-inch port. No sealed volume was listed, so check the manual supplied with the sub for one.

What amplifier suits the Ti 122?

A mono amplifier of around 1,000 W RMS into 2 ohms. JL Audio rates the RD1000/1 at 1,000 W into 2 ohms at 14.4 V, and Morel lists the MPS 1.1100 Limited at 1,100 W into 2 ohms.

Should I choose the Ti 122 or the Ti 102?

Both handle 1,000 W RMS on a 2-ohm coil. The 12-inch lists slightly higher sensitivity and a larger cone but needs a bigger box and costs ₹10,000 more at MRP, so let your boot space decide.
